I was watching a video of him and virgil ortiz sparring a couple months back and something the dude taping said stuck with me. He said he considered him a p4p guy and I was thinking about how I never hear his name in that convo..
He has nice wins, orozco when he was undefeated, Iman, hooker, postol.. but does he need a name like taylor or prograiris to set him over the top and get him in there?
Thoughts?
(Btw robert garcia has himself some beasts in his stable)
This ^. Or at best both fights coulda gone either way. For me Postol maybe had slightly more of a case than Zapeda but certainly Jose didn't look great against either.
Bud outclassing prime Postol is what a P4P performer looks like not Ramirez lucky to scrape past the shopworn old version 4 years later.
Fair play however - if he beats Taylor convincingly I might start to consider him in the conversation however. I don't think he will though.
Like Ramirez though, seems like a good dude with genuine care for his community, he's also pretty much always gonna give you value for money although I'm not sure he does his longevity too many favours.
Yea hes a local cat, whenever he goes to fresno I get the company box seats. He packs that stadium out
I thought both Zapeda and Postol beat him, so no.

no.
Ask the two faggots named Pretty Boy32 and Derranged.
Why would asking them help answer my question lol
Personally I cant see him in the top ten, but he has straps, hes undefeated, has some good tough wins and since getting to the top hasnt really seem to have gone for soft touches like some people say Spence crawford and canelo do.
Basically I was jw how people felt about him cause he doesnt seem like a loud mouth and has kinda gone under the radar
P4P lists are mostly stupid and inconsistent.
You got guys there because of the “eye test” that haven’t beaten elite fighters. You have guys there based on resume like it should be. Then you have guys there that journalists/fans put there to try to be cool and edgy and look like they know more about boxing than the average hardcore fan by placing obscure fighters with flashy records there.
To make things even worse, there’s the whole “HW’s can’t be there because they are Heavyweights and it’s not fair”. But “P4P” is who are the best pound for pound fighters in the world. Meaning regardless of weight, how would that fighter do against someone his own weight? So how does this eliminate skilled HW’s like Wladimir Klitschko and Tyson Fury?
Are P4P lists really “who are the best fighters below heavyweight” or best pound for pound? Which one is it?
You have Tyson Fury, which his decisive wins over Wlad and Wilder make his resume tons better than Crawford’s. But Crawford is P4P # 2, and Tyson Fury can’t be there because he is “too big”. So then let’s make the P4P list just a list of the best Minimumweight fighters in boxing. Great logic. P4P lists, one of the many stupid things boxing has going on. Second to only to the multiple belts per weight class, with sanctioning bodies going further and having the WBC champion, franchise champion, interim champion, WBA regular, WBA super...boxing is so fun to watch and train in but so stupid to try to follow what happens outside of the ring.
Just ranting here, not attacking any poster.
I feel you lol but let it out.
Well based on what a p4p should really be ie good to great wins for a long stretch, maybe movement in divisions should ramirez let's say at least be a top 15 fighter?
