If Haney fought Kambosos....

Agree but he doesn’t seem to be calling these guys out, Clay etc. I rate Kelly, but I’m biased as he lives up the road and my sister used to teach him, run past his family home most days. He has all the tools and ability but a few doubts about if he can put it all together, shame the Avenysian fight is pushed back again, will tell us a lot That Avanesyan fight is never happening is it... :lol1: Think that’s the 4th time it been cancelled.

The bar is always higher for the more proven & accomplished cats. And that's as it should be. A prospect shouldn't be graded the same way as a contender. A contender shouldn't be graded the same way as a title holder. A title holder shouldn't be graded the same way as a #1 guy. Yup. Once you hit a certain level expectations should be higher.

I’d pick Kelly to beat him pretty comfortably but I love the fact that Benn wants to fight him. I liked what Benn said post fight, he’s clearly sick of fighting these European stiffs and wants to test himself domestically. I’m all for that. Just think Kelly will have too much for him in terms of ring IQ. I’d love to see Benn vs Clay, I think that’d be a great fight stylistically. I think that’s because technically he isn’t the best as he is so inexperienced. He’s basically learning on the job. Proven himself as a fighter, but will he develop into a boxer Personally that’s why I think he might do well because he hasn’t got the amateur pedigree like the others we have mentioned and look where he’s at in his career With a few more years training under his belt who knows? But there’s a good crop of young fighters we have mentioned there Benn is calling for PBK Josh Kelly, what are your thoughts on that? McKinson is a good technician but his lack of power could hold him back at the higher levels. Kongo has the highest ceiling IMO. Terrible might be harsh but I just don’t rate him in terms of technique and attributes. Personally I believe his potential is below average, I’ll give him full credit if he proves me wrong though. I follow it fairly closely, haven’t seen loads of Essuman but quite a bit of clay and Kongo. Domestically for me I think McKinson could be the next big thing, he hasn’t beaten an names but beaten quite a few other unbeaten up and comers. I don’t disagree with a lot of what you say, has Benn proven himself over the names we have mentioned? Maybe not? Where we differ is you are saying he is ‘terrible’. If we speak about the names above a good fighters, prospects, potential then you have to include Benn in that bracket. You might think he is over hyped but he’s far from a ‘terrible’ fighter. It’s a matter of opinion at the end of the day until the fights happen and it’s proven McKinson is a good technician but his lack of power could hold him back at the higher levels. Formella didn’t win one second of one round against Porter. It literally means nothing other than he’s durable. Phil Lo Greco went the distance with Porter for example, we all know how bad he is. I’ll give Benn credit in the sense that he’s improved his game though, he looks better than he was, but he’s still yet to prove himself domestically. I don’t know how closely you follow the domestic scene but would you pick Formella to beat English Champion Ekow Essuman? I certainly wouldn’t. I’d like to see Benn mix it with Essuman, Clay, Kongo etc. We’ll find out what he’s made of in those sorts of fights. Unfortunately Hearn is incredibly reluctant to make these sort of fights, he’d rather put his guys in with European nobodies with padded records if we’re being brutal. Kambosos beat Selby by a couple rounds I thought The Bey fight was close until Kambosos pulled away and knocked him down in the last round Haney v Kambosos would be a good fight I think

I don’t even dislike Haney. I just think he’s completely unproven. I don’t like Ryan Garcia but I give him credit cause he’s proven himself, Haney still hasn’t. I thought he beat Selby pretty clearly. Who has Haney beat better than Selby? Haney-Kambosos is a competitive fight IMO. I thought Selby won comfortably but then I am a bit of a fan boy and struggle to score objectively

The eye test. The gap in skill is pretty wide. Kambosos looks lost in there to me. I think he’s better than you’re giving him credit for, he has decent fundamentals. He puts his shots together pretty well too. For example the the uppercut combination he dropped Bey with was pretty impressive IMO. Admittedly though a lot of this comes down to perspective, same with Haney. I’m not sure Roach is the right type of coach for him, he looks a little conflicted between styles at times but overall he’s a solid fighter IMO. I’d say he’s bottom end of the top 10 at 135.

Based off he doesn't like Haney. I get along with this guy but Conor Benn's last fight he predicted him to lose and then when he dominated he still said Benn was terrible. I think Kambosos is a decent fighter. Is Haney a top lightweight? Kambosos could have easily lost to Mickey Bey or Lee Selby. He isn't good.

Based off what? Based off both guys having operated at a similar level. If anything Kambosos is the more proven fighter.
