I mean, just cause he got his ass kicked by a bigger dude doesn't mean Loma isn't the best defensive fighter. He is and by a wide margin.
I like Canelo and Fury both more, but, be fair, Loma's displayed higher caliber defense and probably wouldn't lose if he stayed in his lane. Dude's just got big britches. He's still excellent.
I don't like Canelo but I don't even see how you can have an argument for Lomachenko being better defensively on any level especially by a wide margin. Fury is not even in the conversation with them imo.
There doesn't seem to be many who spend most of the fight in the opponents punching range but still avoid being hit. Canelo is the most obvious, Loma also. Maybe Shakur is getting up there. People will laugh but I'm tempted to add both Tank and Golovkin; on account that they can defend well while remaining in punching range. The thing about those guys is they are so strong they usually don't have much fear of their opponents power, so occasionally just walk through. If they had be more careful I think they could. They remind me of Chavez Sr in that sense.
Absolutely not lol
Thank you, sir, as always. That's what I was gonna say. When your offense is your defense, being touched a little or buzzed here and there, is nothing. Folding your opponent is the object, not running around.
Compare Davis to Andrade.
What he said doesn't even make sense.
The object is to hit & not get hit.
There is no comparison in Davis to Andrade. You can't name 1 fight where Andrade ran from anybody.
Davis. 97% KO ratio, undefeated. Canelo is second.
The devil is a lie. You must be a big Tank fan if you believe that.
Shakur Stevenson & Saul Alvarez.
Everyone else is a distant second.
Boxing is a funny sport man lol.
A lot of people will question certain fighters competition but then I see some of the names get brought up on these "lists" & other names omitted.... Only 1 person put Andrade on their list in this thread....
But then you have this ⬇⬇
Opponents Total Punches Landed Per Rd:Demetrius Andrade 5.1Dmitry Bivol 5.8Jermell Charlo 5.9Anthony Joshua 6.4Kubrat Pulev 6.4 CompuBox Avg.: 16.4— Dan Canobbio (@DanCanobbio) March 28, 2020
Loma just got his ass whooped by a green prospect and Bud got dropped by a journeyman. these things don't happen to canelo
Because Canelo has a better chin. By ur logic GGG is a better defensive fighter than Loma and Crawford also...

So what? Andre Ward got dropped by Darnell Boone. Rigondeaux got dropped plenty of times. That doesn't mean your defense isn't elite.
But hes the best at defense since floyd.
What defence, having a good chin isn't a defence, not taking shots is a defence.
Crawford and Loma are far more elusive than Canelo
He doesn’t get hit any more than Mayweather did. He just doesn’t get wobbled most of the time when he does, like Mayweather would.
I dont know what ur watching, Canelo gets hit clean all the time, his defence is no where near as good as Mayweathers was
Canelo - very difficult to hit cleanly, rolls with punches, makes you miss, has threat of counter punches, does not have elusive footwork
Shakur Stevenson - Defense looks solid against his current level of competition. Very elusive, great reflexes. Joet isnt elite, but I rate his punching technique and punch placement and he wasnt really able to touch Stevenson.
Lomachenko - for his offensive minded style, he is still really difficult to hit. Gets tagged more often at lightweight though, because he has to constantly work his way into punching range against guys who can box on the backfoot.
Fury - quickness paired with his height and reach and solid head movement
Bivol - great distance control with his feet, control of range with his jab and right straight. Very difficult to trap on the ropes or close the distance against. Might struggle if he faces someone who has quick feet and can slip past his punches consistently.
Lara and Rigondeaux are both past their prime and their legs have slow down a lot. Still capable though, but have become easier to hit lately.
Lol nope, Canelo gets tagged a lot, we know he has a great chin because he has taken so many shots clean

Makes perfect sense. Plus Golovkin’s head is made of titanium . Blocking punches with his forehead is part of his defence
When you got the one punch KO power,..
I don’t know chit about boxing but.... I got a turtle head poking outta my azz

I’ll back that up. The fact that Canelo can come forward landing hurtful shots ( even against tall fighters ) all while blocking or slipping anything that comes at him is what puts him above the rest. Some fighters can throw pillow punches all night and not get hit back. Thats not as impressive as throwing hurtful committed punches and still being able to slip, block, and land counters which I consider a part of defence. I think Floyd was very honest and accurate when he said “I damn near feel every punch coming.” Canelo with his current head movement is actually reminiscent of that now. I didn’t think his defence or footwork would improve as greatly as it has. He’s improved all over the board but his defence is the most notable. He’s also a thick muscular guy while doing it. I was always impressed with how well an older heavier Duran could slip in the pocket.
Good points
1. Rigondeaux
2. Lara
3. Terence Crawford
4. Demetrius Andrade
5. Devin Haney
1 Haney .....He shouldnt be number as his competition to date has been poor but he just doesn’t get hit. To be honest I’m basing this just on his impressive spares with the likes of Shakur and Roley and he looked dominant.I haven’t seen the footage on him and Davis or Teofimo so I can’t really comment
2 Fury.... 6ft 9 , yet impossible to hit clean. Great head movement for a big guy
3 Rigondeaux...... Although I have to be honest since Loma beat him I have not even tuned in to watch one fight. I was a big Loma hater prior to that fight and his performance made me eat my words and for that I don’t want nothing to do with rigodeaux. He quit as well
4 Usyk...... Have to throw him in there although I have seen him in that tournament go hammer and tongs with an opponent I think in the semifinals and Bellew was catching him pretty frequently in their fight
Crawford..... He could easily be 1,2 or 3 although he didn’t look good to me in Benavidez fight and the other cat that floored him. The Brook fight he was getting caught also. To be fair it’s hard to fight aggressive and not expect to be hit which is why Canelo, Spence , Loma and Davis get honourable mentions
there is no clear #1 since Floyd retired
but Canelo comes closest
Lol nope, Canelo gets tagged a lot, we know he has a great chin because he has taken so many shots clean
