Then he suffered a serious bicep injury. All things considered, Smith did an amazing job just staying on his feet for the full 12.
If there is another similar thread, apologies, I didn’t see it.
I didn't see any injury visibly affecting him. It just looked like canelo got his respect in the early going and out boxed him and kept him gun shy.
Not doubting theres an injury but it wasnt anything that would have improved his performance in my opinion.
I dont think it bothered him that much until after the fight when he cooled down.
He got hit with a good body shot early and he shelled up, Canelo was just a class above and Smith knew it early on.
I don’t think anyone can deny that. Even if Smith knew from as early as the second round that he couldn’t win he still hanged in there and took his beating like a man. He even acknowledged Canelo targeted his arm something that he does to fighters that have a tight high guard.
They try to save face after all the hype they put out off what they are going to do, especially Manny he had some far fetched excuse for every loss.
They don't trust what their eyes are telling them
I just love all of this ''injury'' bullshlt when there is no visual proof of it.
Not that boxing fans need proof :lol1:

Pac shoulder was all after fight BS.

To add, isn't any kind of arm extension effected by a torn bicep ?!?!?!
Pac's shoulder was annihilated, yet, he was able to still throw punches with it.

Smith looked fine until approximately round 5 or 6. Then he seemed to not trust his offense as much and he slowed down...but he still continued to give Canelo something to think about. He still would try to occasionally attack, but he appeared to lose confidence. I think he believed (as I did) that Canelo would get tired and lower his output. In the last round he saw that Canelo was still dangerous, still throwing a lot of punches with bad intentions, and so at some point in that final round Callum Smith appeared like he just wanted to avoid getting KO'd. In the last round he looked as though he ran out of hope of winning the fight.
How long does it take a detachment of the bicep to swell visibly? I doubt seriously it’s instantaneous.
Instant. When a muscle tears off the bone like that, bruising is instant (blood under the skin) and likely would have swelled up shortly there after.
Eddie Hearn lied and said he hurt the arm early in the fight to try to make excuses for Callum.
But the video evidence shows that his arm wasn't swollen until the last few rounds.

Doesn’t change the fact that it was a freak injury and left Smith with the use of only one arm for nearly 10 rounds. Making a big deal of Canelo’s domination of the fight after that seems rather misleading, don’t you think?

You do know canelo caused his arm to swell up right?
