I’m going to make this simple Brian Kenny is beyond annoying calling fights and it seems he’s getting signed by everyone DAZN and now Fox and prob others. The guy don’t know anything about boxing and he’s more worried about having a debate with his fellow announcers then calling a fight it seems like.
I can’t be the only one out there that dreads fights he’s calling right? I could go on and on about why he’s annoying but I’m just curious if any others feel the same way as me about it.
Ya more or less regardless what he goes off of it’s too try and start a debate it seems. Once someone disagree with any point he makes he just won’t stop. He thinks he’s on espn first take. We need jim lampley back and I was never a very big fan of his
Yeah man HBO was a different level, I’m a big fan of Lampley, Merchant and the boys tbf.
Brian Kenny needs to doing what Custer is doing on PBC and Showtime. Stay at a desk and just give us the boxing schedule and news but don’t do live commentary.
I know this sounds crazy but I miss Gus Johnson, he always bought excitement to the fight. I think he’s doing college football now
He was so annoying during last week's fight between spence and garcia.
I really wanted goosen to lay him out so bad. He's so argumentative and in love with his own voice and opinion. It's hard to ignore it and just concentrate on the fight.
It seems the guys on both networks but specifically goosen gets annoyed by him cause he’s so clueless. Not to mention he’s always promoting the star fighter even when the other fighter is winning the round. Idk i prefer when they actually talk about the fights. He’s the color commentator I get it but he never lets anyone else talk
Yeah he’s terrible, so’s Mannix and so’s Todd Grisham.
I hate the way Kenny always goes on about f***ing punch stats. Thankfully Goosen always shuts him down.

He's better than Mannix and Mora anyway
I don’t think I even agree with that. It made me realize I actually liked lampley. At least those guys call the fight Brian Kenny constantly arguing or talking about past fights or out of ring stuff. He also seems to be in full promotion mode at all times.
I didn’t realize how good we had it with hbo and showtime till they were gone. Showtime still does fights but hardly ever and it’s not usually their A team
i would prefer Mora by a mile. At least he knows what he is talking about and doesn't over praise the network's boxers.
Right?!...Anyone who prefers his commentary over Moras should be tarred n feathered.Guy is obnoxiously arrogant like that Kriegel idiot. Mora and Dre atleast bring their insight on what's going on in the ring and for the most part are unbiased....for the most part lol.
You know who did it right with the enthusiasm with the play by play?.......Guys Johnson, someone needs to offer that guy a position. His enthusiasm always felt sincere which made exciting fights that much more exciting.

I am just so tired of hearing this safety first nonsense, every time every boxing show itis like a damn public service announcements about the horros of the sport, they talk about the "what ifs" more than what is taking place. Calling for fights to be stopped just because they dont believe a fighter can win (than why have the fights in the first place, just give the eye test winner the belt and call it a day). Bradley wanted them to stop the Stevenson fight, brain kenny wanted them to stop the fight after the first kd. All this pussy'ness in boxing is whats watering it down. Boxing isnt for everyone, its the hurt business, these boxers willing signed up for this so dont try to rob a fighter of his chance just cause you cant stomach the sports violent nature.
Welcome to Liberal America

I disagree
When I grow up I want to be the next Brian Kenny. I also like the fact that his last name is also a first name. That's pretty cool. One of him is one to many.

You are not the only one. I think he is terrible at his job. He is not knowledgeable on boxing. He gets so excited over nothing and can't control his excitement or his voice. He praises and pushes the ESPN boxers way too much and makes declarations that may not be true such as saying Crawford is absolutely PFP number 1 and the best welterweight in the world as if Spence didn't even exist. He tells you every punch a boxer throws as if it was radio and not tv and the viewer could not tell for himself what punches were thrown and landed.
