Why does Floyd get criticized for debasing himself with exhibition matches while the GOAT Muhammad Ali gets a free pass for fighting wrestlers and athletes in the middle of his career.
Ali fought a Japanese Wrestler named Antonio Inoki in 1976. He fought NFL athlete Lyle Alzado in 1979. He tried to fight Wilt Chamberlain in the 70's. All of this during his career.

you said it right in your first post. in the middle of his career. these exhibitions were second order to his boxing career. this is floyd desperate to stay relevant as he knows he cant compete with top boxers anymore. its a good scam and will trick lots of dumb people but we dont have to be dumb...do we?
"During his college years, Alzado participated in amateur boxing, and made it to the semi-finals of the 1969 Midwest Golden Gloves Boxing Tournament, held in Omaha. "
that is pretty interesting, so the NFL player was an actual real boxer unlike jake and logan
Nothing new to see here, this kinda thing's been going on as long as the sport... I honestly don't see what the fuss is. Doesn't interest me, but if a dude wants to earn some money doing some circus show shet so what? Don't like it then don't watch, I don't and I won't, but saying it somehow tarnishes the sport as a whole makes no sense to me.
Any boxer would fight any one for a 100 million dollars, it seems these posters dont understand the amount of money involved.
I agree. It’s just that not everyone would get an opportunity like that. You’re talking Ali, Tyson, odh, Floyd and maybe a few others.
How could Ali fight someone from a media site that wasn’t created yet, in a platform that wasn’t available?
The fairer question is would Ali, who fought exhibitions against pro wrestlers, fought in a exhibition against a YouTuber on ppv if the option was available?
I think he fights exhibitions, I just don’t think it would be against a YouTube star. It would imo be against mma stars.

Was Ali fighting YouTubers on PPV?

If Floyd was as rich as he says he is he wouldn’t be wasting his time with these.
Many people around him have notes he basically went broke between fights and has no handle on his money.
You think making 50-100 million dollars for not even training is wasting his time, come on buddy nobody turns away from that sort of money especially when he is obsessed with money.

The athletes who Muhammad Ali faced were also, some of the best athletes in their field 'Elite'.
Elite lol, well on that McTap was the baddest elite MMA guy in the world and the other idiot is an elite youtuber lol.
Not quite.
Ali fought other athletes, in clearly marked exhibitions. Mayweather is fighting a youtuber...this would be the equivalent of Ali boxing a TV presenter in 1981 lol

Are you talking about your tranny mom?
Let this sink in: You are such a scared little beta male, you made an anonymous alternative account to keep your original, already anonymous account, hidden.
Please log out, sit in the park somewhere on a bench. Or if it’s too cold, just sit on your mom’s couch and re-evaluate your man-hood.
Who do you feel he should have fought as a 44 year old (Feb 2021) retired boxer who no longer cares about adding wins/World titles to his pro record for this exhibition? An athlete? Nate Robinson is an athlete, former NBA player, in great shape, and he was knocked out by a non-boxer Youtuber.
If he chose another retired pro boxer in his 40s, for this exhibition fight, would that have made you happier or made you not complain about his choice of opponent? Or made you buy it? Me personally, I wouldn’t care who he chose, I would not purchase it unless he was coming out of retirement to face Pacquiao, rematch Canelo, fight Spence, Josh Taylor, Jose Ramirez, or GGG.
What I think about this fight is that I am not buying it. I’m not interested in watching it live. I have no opinion about this non-pro fight, I might catch it if it’s uploaded to youtube. I would not even pay the $29.99 it costs if you pre order it now (I paid for Spence vs Garcia because it was top 5 WW’s fighting eachother. I will also not pretend I care about who a retired boxer who is closer to being an official senior citizen than he is to being in his prime will fight in an exhibition that does not count towards anything.
As a Mayweather fan (or fanboy as some call me) I am more interested in who Pacquiao, an active pro boxer, is facing next, than who Mayweather is facing next in his exhibition adventures.
How about he just stays retired...
He doesn’t need the money, does he???
I’ve shown this before.
I show it to the idiots saying Floyd is ruining boxing with his exhibition fights or that boxing is becoming a mockery because of these events like Tyson-Jones. It’s been happening since before anyone on this forum was born. So it’s amusing to see some fans think it’s something new, invented by Mayweather.

Good post !!! Green when I can.
No doubt. Most folks loved Ali when he was cashing in on his name & making extra money so it was fine. Floyd made his name largely from being the bad guy & that's stuck so it's not fine.
Not quite.
