i like both of these guys. i prefer oscar and i feel like he has a better resume, but im not so sure.
against common opponents:
Pernell whitaker - i honestly thought Oscar won this fight, albeit by a hair. Pernell showed great defensive skills but not enough offense, which i thought oscar had more of (even if he missed a lot). On the other hand, Felix trinidad CLEARLY beat whitaker. At the same time, whitaker was already out the door when he fought DLC, even worse when he fought Trinidad. Unsure who had the better win here.
Bernard hopkins - they both lose, but at least trinidad went out like a man and lasted until the final round.
fernando vargas - DLH finished him off one round sooner, but Trinidad beat him when vargas was undefeated. Tough to say.
i also thought DLH got clearly robbed in the Trinidad fight. I had him winning 8-9 rounds, maybe 10 lol.
idk tough to say.
ODLH beat a lot of recognizable names. I thought he won the second Mosley fight and lost the Sturm fight. The Tito fight the first six rounds you can split them and ODLH had clear rounds 7-8 and 9, he started to run and threw the fight away. Not a robbery as some say either decision or a draw would had been fine.
Tito had a lot of undefeated fighters and was very dominant at 154 and went after the toughest guys in that division. He dared to be great and took that fight against Hopkins that got postponed because of 9/11. Got blanked out by Winky and took that circus fight against Jones.
Both guys have similar records with contenders at different stages of their careers. ODLH faced Floyd and Pac also so those guys fight who was who in boxing at their times. I really can't picked because I watched both fighters throughout their careers.
Better resume goes to ODLH , and I am a Trinidad guy . Tito did beat better versions of Vargas , Mayorga and Campas though , Oscar beat a better version of Whittaker .
You got t wrong, Whitaker avoided Tito. Quartey & Mosley? You gotta be Kidding! Tito would’ve dismantle any of them! Where are you getting that from?
Shane Mosley would’ve boxed circles around Trinidad. It’s a shame that fight didn’t happen. Mosley’s hand speed would’ve been too much for Trinidad.
Oscar De La Hoya by far. DLH also beat him in their fight.
I remember when that fight was being promoted, I was rooting for Trinidad. At the time, I was a kid and I just liked Trinidad more. I laughed at DLH getting robbed, it was just funny to me. But yeah, he did get robbed. I wasn’t a DLH fan yet but he won that fight.
It’s great that these two fought in the same era and actually fought each other while still in their primes. That seems to be going the way of the dodo. Close comparison with these men, but the nod goes to Oscar. And head-to-head, DLH threw away a clear win by literally running. Even so, I still think he did enough to get the victory over Tito.
Oscar's top wins
Paez
RUELAS
Chavez 2x
Whitaker
Camacho
Quartey
Vargas
Mayorga
And most felt he beat Tito and Mosley in the rematch and his fight with Floyd was super close.
Tito
Blocker
campus
Camacho
Whitaker
DLH
Reid

I think Oscar has a close but clear better resume but I was a huge fan of Tito one of my all time favs.
Think Genaro Hernandez (32-0-1, 15 KOs) or Miguel Angel Gonzalez (41-0, 31 KOs) should be considered over Paez who was a natural featherweight. Both Hernandez and Gonzalez were undefeated champions and renown big punchers at 130-140.
Comparable to the win against IBF Lightweight champ Rafael Ruelas (43-1, 33 KOs).
Genaro and Rafael were tall for their divisions, both standing at 5'11.
There is also Arturo Gatti (33-4, 27 KOs) before his trilogy with Micky Ward.

[QUOTE=The Big Dunn;
But that doesn’t erase rounds 1-8.
Brother Oscar didn’t win every round from 1-8.
The judges got it right. Even you acknowledged that he ran during those late rounds. There are consequences for running. I rest my case.
Tito won! Just like Floyd got the win against Castillo & Maidana 1. It’s in the record books.
And I will not respond to any more about this! At this point it’s pointless.
Better resume because Many didn’t want to fight Tito...I mean he was knocking them out! Sorry buddy but it is what it is Tito won just accept it the way many accepted Floyd vs Castillo....
I’m fine if we criticize odh for running like a f@g b1tch the last 4 rounds. Deserves every bit of criticism for that punk stuff. Gave away a victory and he has no one to blame but himself.
But that doesn’t erase rounds 1-8.
I was rooting hard for Tito but when that decision was announced I was surprised as hell.
I agree some wouldn’t fight Tito but that doesn’t erase all the dudes rolling pin dela higheels fought.
It pains me to say this believe me.
I may despise coka dela fishnets but he beat Felix and has a much better resume.

If you watch the DLHvsTrinidad fight, you can see where Trinidad connects a certain punch and DLH starts running for the rest of the fight afterwards...must’ve been some punch to make DLH drop his offense completely and run for the hills
Yes I think that was the 8 or 9 rnd...
Oscar by far
Trinidad lone good "win" was a robbery vs Oscar. His wins past 147 were abysmal. Oscar was the better boxer/fighter and has better wins.
Wrong, Tito’s best win at 147 ;
-Whitaker
-Campas (W:55, L:0 50 ko
Oba Carr (udefeated)
Oscar (undefeated)
Not bad...
One thing is for sure many fighters choose to fight Oscar instead of Trinidad, Chavez being one of them. Whitaker also avoided fighting Trinidad, saying jokingly that he doesn’t fight country’s Referring to Tito’ last name. so he decides to fight him 2-3 years later. Tito was extremely high risk! Furthermore Oscar fought many of Trinidad’s leftovers (and Trinidad was knocking them out ugly with damaging effects )Tito’s leftovers;
-Campas (was undefeated)
-Obat Carr (was undefeated)
-Fernando Vargas (was undefeated)
-Mayorga
As far as their fight is concerned, by the end of the 9th round, Oscar was winning the fight by a huge margin! But that doesn’t mean Oscar won ALL those rounds. Oscar had won at most 6 rds clearly ahead on the score cards. there was still 3 rds left & he decided to coast/ bicycle/run, NOT because corner man Gil Clancy said so, because he felt Tito hands & knew he was spent & didn’t want to risk getting drop nor ko’d. Tito was the stronger in the later rds. The Jude’s got it right, even the hbo crew who was *** riding Oscar, we’re also saying they wouldn’t want to be a judge... now why would they say that?
