When it was Amir Khan who stopped fighting against Terence Crawford people claimed he quit in that fight. Despite the fact that he was down in round 1, he came back and fought with Crawford in the middle of the ring for 5 rounds. All be it Crawford was tagging him with ease and he had no chances of winning. He was called a quitter for stopping.
But people are okay with Dubois not continuing against Joe Joyce. For the argument that you will make Dubois could've suffered a serious injury, Amir Khan could've as well.
he was hit in the groin though. what do you mean pretending? sure he used that to quit/not continue/save face but he was hit very low. like ward low. not sure if he thought he was going to get a dq win or just wanted an easy way out but it wasnt a legit body shot
He was not hit in the groin
He was hit on the side and pretended he was hit in the groin.
They showed it on the replay like 1000x
I don't see why fans make such a big deal about it.
If they for some reason feel it's best not to continue that's them
Well if you pay for a PPV fight you don't want to see a guy quite because he has not heart and decides to quit.
If it is a legit injury it is what it is.
Dude, Khan got his ass whooped from minute one and then looked for a way out by pretending he was hit in the groin.
Dubois was in danger of permanently losing the sight in his eye.

Well at least Khan’s corner looked out for him and quit for him. That’s what your corners are there for. Take the pressure off you from been accused of being a quitter. Honestly most fans have zero issues with a fighter quitting, yes they can talk about it but it’s more the former or current boxers who come out with that line. You had Wilder who claimed he fired his trainer NOT because of tactics in the ring but because he didn’t allowed his “Cheating” opponent to continue battering him to submission or killing him. So your corner is there to take the pressure off you.
Khan quit big time for no good reason except he knew Crawford was going to beat him up some more. Dubois had his eye site in danger and was in much pain and had 100 times more reason to quit than Khan did. Khan had 5 minutes to recover and only took a few seconds to decide to quit from a blow that missed his balls and landed on his thigh. He was looking for an easy way out and he took it.
They both quit, an eye injury is clearly more serious. Khan didn’t even bother taking the 5 minutes. One is not equal to the other. But i’m not gonna sit here and defend Dubois.
