Yes he is. Kid is young, he will learn from that loss and come back stronger.
Just look at his future opposition. Hrgovic is 28, fought nobody, untested. East Euros are fighting club fighters only. Ajagba was dropped by Kiladze, looked bad in last 2 fights. Yoka looked terrible against Hammer. He is 28 already. Conto is untested and 24 already. Sanchez is 28, fighting nobodies.
Don`t make me laugh like Dubois is not good enough to win the title against those guys in the future.
I think AJ showed a better gas tank in the Ruiz rematch with all the movement he was doing, but Ruiz wasn't really pressing the action. Joyce's pressure could potentially make AJ unravel.
Exactly pressure makes you nervous, makes you panic, makes you use a lot more energy trying to think. Ruiz couldn’t move around as much and yes AJ box around him.
It was like when I watch David Haye going 12 rounds with Ismail abdoul, with him throwing 5 punches per round, trying to conserve energy after seeing that he couldn’t stop the guy, in his mind you could see he was thinking about pacing himself due to his gas tank.
Same with Joyce if he ever gets to fight AJ, I could see AJ panicking if JJ is still in front of him after 8/9 rounds throwing volume punches.
He ain't winning no belts if he can't learn to slip and parry jabs
Another great observation. Yes! thats why fighters have to learn to operate at all ranges! Slip, if you cannot parry, go inside.
If someone told me Wilder would grab a world title and have however many defenses I'd have literally shat myself laughing.
Never say never especially in this era of HWs but I really just do not see that happening. Outside of him beating some total scrub for the WBO that is, always a possibility with a FW fighter.
Dubois is quite frankly slow, stiff, flat-footed and extremely limited and shown zero signs of improvement since his amateur days. His stamina doesn't seem too great and his heart is questionable.
He's a bit of a physical specimen but he's not particularly talented nor gifted or athletic in any sense.
Most, in fact I'd say all but Fury lacked a lot whether its the ability to fight up close, stamina or something else glaring but Dubois really is just one a one-trick pony. I don't feel he has a bright future. I just see him being a guy who will look devastating at a low level but get exposed time & time again vs anyone that is big, durable and savvy.
Agreed totally green K. The actual skills are low, the ability to adapt ziltch...I mean protect the eye, throw a left hook when the guy is stepping off to avoid your right... I hate to question the guys heart... I really do but I have to. Would Fury have stopped fighting? I doubt it. Ali against Frazier?
I can only defend the kid by saying it goes hand in hand. Not being able to defend the eye and stopping. I see no skills, no had movement, no foot movement, no punching finesse.

While certainly not impossible. Not likely either.
I believe he will be too. I have my doubts Joshua could have took the punishment Joyce did. I actually think Dubois may stand a better chance vs Usyk than Joyce because he throws faster combos that Usyk may struggle to evade but I'm pleased to see Joyce is getting his chance.
Kinda think Joyce CAN beat AJ right now. The fact that he comes and comes, makes him a danger for any HW that isn't great in the gas tank department. Add the fact that he has a good chin on him, if they kept landing and he is still there then i could see them (Someone like Whyte or AJ) exhausted.

Except Fury and Usyk, who are these more skilled guys?
Joe Joyce, lol, has way better defence than ppl gives him credit for
are we talking about who has the better skills or who beats Dubois, i think even the likes of Hunter or Gassiev beats him, let alone guys like Makhmudov or Majidov
nah, not it this era, maybe in 2030's, too many 28-35 y.o guys right now who are more skillful with ton of experience, he should try to go to the Tokyo Olympics first and see and learn fighting his future opponents

Hrgovic will defeat him, Joyce will still be around then you have Vlad Sirenko who reportedly dropped him bad in sparring who is a monster puncher so ?
I have seen nothing special from Hrgovic and Sirenko so far. Untested guys. Price also looked great when he fought at that level.

He has potential to pick up a belt later down the line and did the right thing against Joyce. Looks like a very nasty injury.
If Dubois comes back, improves and wins a title, he'll show the world he made the right decision to quit against Joyce.
I'm looking forward to seeing Dubois fight again.
Seems like people don't care about the actual sport of boxing and would prefer to see a dead body, those people should go start another sport with no rules, gloves, gumshield, ref and watch it go to the death... Hell, let's just have Suliemann decide if the victor lives too!
Darwinism at it's finest.. The gene pool will clense eventually.
Well the papers are backing him 100% lol. The Sun said he is out for 5 months with the bust bone and "bleed on the retina." Sounds nasty...
Looks like the damage control will prevail; Brook also defended him. He has, like, about 15 years left as a heavy weight so surely he can at least challenge a couple of times.
I won't see it's a definite, but I'd throw money on him lifting a title off someone sooner or later. Time is on his side. Hopefully he takes this L as a learning experience & improves the things he can from now til his next big fight which probably should be a couple years away from now.
The issue I foresee is how does Warren keep his promotion moving with DDD working on his own trajectory while Warren is needed big fights.
There are also some positives to take from his performance.
Joyce did not bulldoze him over, and it was a competitive fight.
Dubois has proven that he has some good durability, never once was her deterred from coming forward 'He kept on trying until, the injury obviously was too bad' etc
Wladimir Klitschko lost to Purrity when he was 22.
Ok...I'll bite....so are you telling me that Daniel Dubois is more talented than Wladimir Klitschko was at the same level?
And I'll add one more little nugget here.....there are LEVELS even when you're talking about PROSPECTS in boxing. If you put Daniel Dubois in with another prospect such as Top Ranks Jared Anderson....you are CLEARLY going to see the difference in talent level as you watch Dubois get battered and possibly quit again.
OK...I got one question for you.....When has a PROSPECT lost a fight BY QUITTING or AT ALL and then come back to win a world title? Im talking PROSPECTS here so work with me...lol
Wladimir Klitschko lost to Purrity when he was 22.
The problem with this essay is that NONE OF THOSE GUYS ARE GOING TO BE CHAMPIONS...LOL
Somebody will be. Or you think Fury will fight till his middle 40-s. Good call.
