Rewatching the fight now, it appears that of the punches that landed clean, they all came from Loma, while the majority of Lopezs' punches were either hitting air, or body shots from the very end of his motion that either hit elbow, glove, or if they landed at all, did not damage at all.
examples of these bodyshots:

I mean there is to many to list. Basically, none of them looked clean to me. When Loma did decide to engage in those rounds, he had very clear 3 punch combinations that landed clean. Lopez had zero clean shots. Under what argument do people who think Lopez won, do you guys think he won?
I think Canelo at some point late in the first fight realized that the guys GGG was knocking out, that Canelo was better than them in many ways and that in fight 2, he could brace for, take, and slip GGG's power and proved that in the second fight. I am one of those who clearly saw Canelo win that second fight and Canelo stood in the pocket quite often and won those exchanges. It was a virtuoso performance by Canelo.
im completely on board with that take...i thought canelo won 2nd fight convincingly and it was the kind of fight golovkin asked for
i couldnt pinpoint when and where it happened but i really felt like after the first fight canelo just didnt think there was anything golovkin had for him that scared him....he def went into the first fight cautious
i think youre somewhat right....i think sometimes guys go in weary of guys with certain reps...i think canelo def did that in the first golovkin fight then realized it wasnt all that and fought differently in the 2nd fight

actually the pre-fight and teo's record plays a big role. he is well-known as a knockout puncher. loma is very cautious with that. being that in mind, makes him worried he might get caught. he couldn't be careless or else it's gonna be a short night for him. i think he overestimated teo's power.

conversely....fury tasted wilders power and realized it was real and thus decided it wasnt wise to let wilder get off...that it would be smart to go right at wilder and fury told us he was gonna do that
i think teos pop is still real....if it lands right...its not all that easy to land a good, flush, true power shot on loma...especially a cautious loma who is leery of getting hit with a big one
True. Salido turned down 720K for the Loma rematch. I think that there is still a possibility and Lopez may take a Loma rematch but how many months will it take before Loma climbs out of his hole and announces his intentions - is what I want to know.
He wants a rematch.
Yea, but just like Salido, they don't want any of the rematch.True. Salido turned down 720K for the Loma rematch. Teo didn't beat loma in the early rounds it's just loma's inactivity that cost him the fight.
I agree with this.
Loma started way too late.
Teo did good work though

But now he has some pretty good 20/20 vision in hindsight. He may never get that rematch or the belt and no unification. I'm sure he is kicking himself now.

I think it’s an all in or nothing kind of thing. He doesn’t have time to be rematching guys when he’s trying to collect all of the belts.
I believe guys like mayweather had rematch clauses to their benefit in the contracts. But now he has some pretty good 20/20 vision in hindsight. He may never get that rematch or the belt and no unification. I'm sure he is kicking himself now.
Yeah, he was aggressively boxing with the air
Isn't Loma riding his bike and only throwing single digit punches for 7 rounds worse?
How can you be happy with that? There was so much at stake for him and he took 7 rounds off. Wouldn't you have rather him exchange more and win those first 7 rounds more convincing?
I'm pretty sure you felt like he could have done more in real time while you were watching the fight and only discover Lopez was missing more once you were able to slow it down. Which is fine, but the judges do the best they can in real time and Loma definitely didn't build a solid case for himself to win those first rounds with the naked eye.
If they were to fight again, do you think loma would be an idiot and give away the first 7 rounds again?
The Salido fight was a mess all around.
Loma almost stopped Salido.
At the end when he realized he could go to the distance he turned it up. From his opponent coming overweight and the many fouls he almost pulled it off.
The key here is Loma could have easily done one single thing that could have allowed him a chance to prove that he was not at his best - put in a rematch clause. He was so arrogant about a sure win but what he needed was a dose of reality that anything can happen in boxing when he signed the contract. Like someone else said, he fuked himself over - and in more ways than one.

Huh? Loma fought scared when the bigger man wasn't able to cut off the ring? 7-0? The only one that got battered was Lopez, he was about to drop in that fight. He got saved by the bell.
Loma landed, Lopez didn't.
He did not control the distance. If he controlled the distance he would have cut the ring and actually landed something, but he didn't land anything.
He landed enough to win the first 7 rounds. Why do you think Lomachenko threw so little?

Was Lopez being active? Give me a timestamp of him being active.
Ofcourse teo's been active until 12 rounds wtf are you thinking. If they where both inactive then it's not boxing id!ot. Loma just became active on the 2nd half.
Reminded me of Hopkins vs Taylor fight.
Oh, wow. GREAT call man. 2005. Hopkins ultimately turned in on big time and almost pulled out the W.
And both of those fights would have suited Hopkins/Loma if there were a few more rounds to go.
