Unless you’ve got loads of money and can sit ringside, the average bum like myself will be sitting at a distance where you aren’t going to able to see all that much of what’s going on.
Thoughts?
I've been to football basketball baseball golf live and boxing has to be one of my favorites. We used to go to Carson to the fights in that outdoor stadium all the time, that has to be one of my favorite sports venues.
If you're at a fight live, okay you can take some pics of the crowd maybe to show the attendance and atmosphere you are part of. When the two fighters are in the ring almost ready to fight, but then what? There is no point in recording anything else after. Sit back and enjoy the show. That's what you paid for. Nobody else cares about your nose bleed view and even if you had first row seats and recorded it, I would still prefer to watch it on TV all day long. Literally, too much phone out and recording with everything in life. Not everything has to be documented...
I went to see Roy vs Tito and the seats were expensive and far away but it was cool to see Roy live. I saw Margarito vs Mosley and the tickets were cheap but the atmosphere was bad as everyone was cheering for Margarito and he got destroyed (people were crying or fighting in the stands and security could not control it).
My best experience was Cotto/Margarito 1 in Vegas. The atmosphere was crazy with both sides having loud cheering fans. I agree with people saying that being at home is better as the viewing angles are better and you can pause/rewind it but that fight was incredible to watch live.
Only fight I’ve watched live is AJ cos Klitschko. I wasn’t close to the ring but the atmosphere was unbelievable, I imagine in indoor arenas it would be even better.
It’s not possible to replicate that sort of atmosphere, it just can’t be copied in a home.
I chose not to go to Froch groves 2 because of the price for a seat far away, I wish I hadn’t. Don’t let the seatings out you off if the fight is big enough
Whats worse is 90% of the time LIVE their watching it through their phone and calling ppl taking selfies saying you won't believe where I'm at!
I'm serious they spend all their time recording it and watching it through their phone. SMH...
I’ve never understood why people do this. The fight is being recorded in HD why would spend half the fight recording from a ****ty phone miles away from the ring.
You're in the UK aincha? Worth going at least once for the atmosphere, but in terms of actually viewing the action it basically sucks... although granted I can't comment on what it's like from ringside cos the few times I've been it's been the budget nosebleed seats.:lol1:
Lol! Yeah I might try and catch a fight next year. Maybe a less well known fighter so there a fewer footy fans etc
Honestly, I've pretty much only sat either on the floor or six-eight rows up in the fights I've attended. Maybe way back in the day when I was a kid I sat far, but I like going to the fights live. I've heard though stadium fights are pretty terrible and if you have a bad seat, it's not worth it.
Yeah, it's mixed feelings. On one end you have the atmosphere and energy of the crowd. On the other end, if you have *****ty seats, it's weird watching. Until something happens, it's like mostly silent since no commentators obviously and you can't hear any punches like you would on tv. So it's legit like just motion with no sound until something big happens. Then the crowd stands up, everyone goes nuts cheering, but that's it.
You also have the uncomfortable walk back to the car if your guy/favorite lost and it leaves a bitter feeling that you can't just escape. You literally are feeling it all the way out of the arena with everyone else. I know that one when Cotto lost to Trout. It wasn't fun.
The feeling however when your guy wins and wins big is AWESOME. Great vibes in the arena and on the walk out (Cotto-Judah) :D
I went to see Salido-Juanma 2 at Roberto Clemente Coliseum and it was the best fight atmosphere and I was upper deck, took my cousins who never seen a live fight and they loved it. There came a point in the 10th round that I thought the roof was going to pop off.
Juanma but KO’ed so a lot of his fans said “he’s sucks” while leaving the arena. Overall great ****ing night and my cousins most likely will talk about the experience on thanksgiving tomorrow while we shoot the **** .
The experience is just the difference
I've been to live fights and they suck big time. Better to have TV camera's showing all angles and zoom capabilities which beat the hell out of one view, one angle and nothing more unless you stare at the screen above the ring but then you are better off at home in that case. Binoculars suck because that becomes a distancing agent and you are no longer really looking at the fighters except through a lens.

The only fight I watched live was Donny Lalonde, but that was almost 20 years ago lol. Went to a cage wars one time, not bad seats, pretty good view. MMA action.
just pay for the ppv and watch it on your phone at the event, u get the atmosphere and the close up's, win win
That has got to be the dumbest idea I've ever heard.
I have not been to a fight live in many years. When I lived in the Los Angeles area and could afford to buy a ticket ringside it was a great experience. You could hear the punches land and praise the winner after the fight and he could hear you and thank you. However sitting far away from the fight stinks and you are much better off watching it at home. Today sitting ringside at any big fight is only for the very wealthy.
I haven't been to a live pro boxing match, but I have been to multiple UFC events. The relative silence due to no commentating is really weird for me. As some others have said, one level up is better than ringside seats. The atmosphere is enjoyable, and sitting where you can give a fist bump to the fighters as they come by is cool.
In the UK, most of the guys at the fights are football fans who go for the atmosphere & to get pissed & sniffed up with the boys.
The last time I went to a fight in Liverpool, I went for a piss before the main event, and when I got to the toilets, there must have been 100 guys all stood around putting keys in bags.
Yeah that’s doesn’t sound all that great! Have you been to any shows in London?
