I would go with Vitali. the guy in his prime, while Lennox was over the hill, past his prime.
Holyfield and Mike Tyson are bigger names obviously, but they were not threats when Lennox fought them.
Vitali klitschko is an ATG H2H nightmare and imo a top 5 HTH fighter all time. Lewis beat him in his prime. That win is one of the best in history imo
For sure. Vitali’s size, power, chin and courage and determination (unlike Wlad) gives every heavyweight ever trouble. Beats most head to head.
I'm going with Ray Mercer. Mercer could take his punch and answered back with heavy shots. That was a very entertaining and close fight. I thought Lewis won but wouldn't have been surprised if it went the other way.

Ray Mercer actually beat him (in the opinions of many), a focused Oliver McCall was dangerous too, but all in all, I'd go with David Tua. Tua had that 1 punch power that if he had been able to get to Lennox, he could've obliterated him.
Yeah, you're right about Tyson, but I think Holyfield did have a little left when they fought.
That fight was peak Lewis in my opinion.
Briggs was excellent, but outgunned in every department.
At least Briggs got to go out on his shield in that one. Hell of a fight between two great champions.
Not like in the Vitali fight when he tore his bicep in the first round and couldn't fight back as Klitschko laid a savage 12 round beating on him.
Lewis himself said that Shannon Briggs had the best punching power and handspeed of anyone he fought. Briggs just had no gas tank or footwork.
But for the first half of a fight Briggs was dangerous to ANYBODY.

It's been a very long time since I saw it, so I may be wrong but didn't Zeljko Mavrovic give Lewis a boatload of problems?
But yeah, I'd say either Ray Mercer or Vitali Klitschko
Mavrovic did frustrate Lewis some but it seemed like that was his goal in the fight rather than winning. Just to survive and spoil rather than actually try to take rounds but he did accomplish that and gave a good account of himself, I don't know how much Lewis was really in danger though.
Lewis fought a bunch of killers, and we all know most heavyweights have potential to KO their opponents. Mercer, Golota, Tua, Vitali, Briggs, Grant and others were all strong dudes. Then, of course, McCall and Rahman caught him on the button. His resume was stacked.
