I mentioned it in some pre-fight posts but I didn't know for sure if Brook would be weight-drained with complete certainty because he said he's been training and in fighting shape since the start of the pandemic.
Brook hasn't fought at 147 for two and a half years. As soon as he got hit with some meaningful shots he couldn't take the power. Crawford had him stumbling across the ring and nearly out the ropes with a beautifully placed and well-timed shot, but it wasn't necessarily a full on power shot. Brook did have forward momentum too so that must have increased the impact but would an optimum Brook really be so stunned by that particular shot - unless he was weight-drained?
When a fighter's weight-drained, one of the possible consequences is that his punch resistance is reduced both to the body and the head so punches will have much more of an effect than usual.
yeah saw the videos and pics, the commentators were like oh brook looks so good and in so good shape, yeah and look how fuking cut he is, that is not a good thing, it means hes drained as hell
He wasn't so much drained to the point of being see thru ( :lol1: ) as much as him just being shot.
He was in good shape for a WW posing contest
I knew Crawford could stop Brook at any time, unlike Spence and Porter, especially with that right hook, was hoping he wouldn’t catch him early so he’d get more credit. Oh well. Brook should’ve warmed up more, it would have helped him tremendously. Was way too serious, looked like he had more pressure on him to perform than Crawford.
:boxing:
I don't think the issue was his weight because he made the weight and rehydrated. He is just a shot fighter who no longer has it in him anymore. He was making mistakes, he was getting very predictable and his old trainer dominic ingle wasn't with him. He went in with many disadvantages. I don't know what he is going to do from here. Welterweight and super welterweight have killers that would tear him apart. I won't be surprised if he retires.
it gets harder though and takes a bigger toll the older they get. that is why a lot of guys permanently move up and guys that try to force them selves at lower weights, either for money or because they arent competitive at higher weights, like a ricky hatton, those guys have shorter careers.
Brook's team and backers said Brook looked to be in the best shape ever

That Brook and his insta trainers said he was in the best shape ever?
Kell is a costume of a man there.
The moment Ingle's and Brook stepped away from each other the game was probably up.
Some fighters run through trainers others like Kell are their since they're kids.
The fact that Kell went to 147 was a cash grab. Which is fine. He's earned it.
Post up pics of any WW you want and let's compare.
Let me know if you need help.
Do you need me to repeat my post ?
Seems like you didn't understand what you quoted.

Is that great shape? Man, is nearly see through.
Brook has had a good career. Hopefully some good pension money earned last night.
''See thru...''
Post up a pic of any WW's body. Go on. :lol1:
Brook was weight-drained with no punch resistance? *as predicted
