Would he of been king of hw boxing if not for Fury. He can beat everyone but Fury, Fury is simply better No. He declined the chance to fight for unification several times. Admitted this. He actually declined a unification for more money than a non- unification Fury fight. You're not a King when you do that. You're not even attempting to be a King- you're a ducker with no self belief.

Fury is not king until he beats AJ who is champion of three of the four major groups. Fury is the betting favorite but that is not winning the fight. As for Wilder being the best heavyweight next to Fury I am not sure about that. He is acting strangely as if that loss hurt his confidence and desire to be the best and his love of boxing.He was never a sure thing to beat AJ even before he lost to Fury.

I don't see why not. I could easily see a Wilder right putting AJs lights out. Remember that Fury is levels above everybody else. AJ vs Wilder was 50/50 fight, but now Fury has ruined Wilder its probably 70/30

Had he fought AJ instead of ducking? Oh yes... I really believed he would have beaten Joshua but that’s me. Maybe they were scared of Joshua, maybe they didn’t want to take that fight in the UK etc but their history shows they babied Wilder. The rest is history with their cherry

If he had actually consistently fought the rest of the top 10? probably not. But he probably could have gotten away with fighting cans forever and accusing Joshua of ducking him, and many (Americans especially) would have claimed he was the no1 HW in the world.
