Canelo to Showtime?

Saul Canelo Alvarez would be a great addition to Showtime's World Championship Boxing.

RIP to the fighters that lost they lives to recently Holmes TR/ESPN putting Loma-Lopez on free television was excellent. Huge credit to all parties for making that happen.

I’m not against it, I’m a huge advocate of putting boxing on free tv. Just don’t see it happening unfortunately. He’ll go straight on PPV bro, if Sho are putting Tank-LSC on PPV, then Canelo certainly will be. I just think it would be a good strategy ya know. . get his name out there and see how the viewership numbers go .

Espinoza loves Canelo too, I could see him getting a Mayweather type deal. PBC have great options for him too. Charlo, Benavidez, Plant etc.It is possible. It would be nice to have him fighting again.

We have to wait and see how it plays out. Nothing would surprise me however. It would be kind of cool to see him pull a Tyson Fury and ride with ESPN for a 4 fight contract. It seems like they are willing to drop money for fights that will draw a profit especially once live audiences are allowed more and more. They also seem willing to co-promote as shown with Wilder and Fury. ESPN is definitely a realistic option too tbf.

Showtime/ViacomCBS going all in for Canelo I'm sure as they should They did a really good job promoting Tank Davis vs Leo Santa Cruz fight recently so yeah Showtime is still a excellent Platform for Boxing! Would also be the Last Laugh and CHECKMATE for Espinoza on those who said Showtime was DEAD and on its way out of Boxing :lol1:

I’d like to see him face Callum Smith too. It’ll be interesting to see what happens with GGG. If Canelo leaves DAZN, will they really be willing to pay GGG such huge purses knowing a potential Canelo trilogy isn’t going to happen on DAZN. True, also got BJS. Showtime could definitely make a multi fight deal, quite a few strong opponents and big draws

By Mayweather type deal I meant a multi fight contract, I didn’t mean the the finances would be equal. Benavidez, Plant, Both Charlos, Spence could all be big fights down the line.
