Ward is great at what he does but I give Crawford the edge here. I like to think in these scenarios how it would play out if they were the same size.
I feel Crawford is more versatile offense wise then Kovalev was and Kovalev gave Ward all he could handle in the first match, arguably beating him.
I thought the question was who was the higher skilled BOXER , who is the better fighter is a different deal altogether.

Explain to me how Crawford is more versatile!
That's true but Crawford has power in both hands and can kill you either way.
Ward's "infighting" borders on being dirty
We’re not talking about power. Ward was a better all-around boxer than Crawford.

I don’t know about that one. I’ve yet to see Crawford showcase any inside fighting skills. Ward was able to demonstrated his inside and outside fighting skills against better quality boxers too.

Never rated Wart.
Early in Bud went to England to upset their great champ, Burns. Better'n anything homeboy Wart could ever conceive.
There’s nothing special about Burns.
Ward
Tbh I don't think ward was still in his prime at 175 after the layoff
Ward at 168 was a remarkable fighter, he read opponents so well and just totally shut down whatever their strengths were, I think I'd only favour prime Jones could beat Prime Ward at that weight, yeah I'm sure one or two others could pull it off but if consider them upsets.
Good post . I agree with it all.
So are we just gonna count wards headbutting, clinching, and forearms as “skills” now??? LOL.
Crawford can box as fluidally as a lefty as he does a righty. Thats skills.
Yet, he still gets hit consistently whether he’s righty or lefty. Straight up and down, no special effects.

Burns is a Scot and wasn't what I'd call "great." Not saying this as a knock on Crawford but it was obvious to everybody after Burns' gift draw against Beltran that his belt was ripe for the picking for the next decent challenger to show up.
Andre Ward or Terence. Crawford. Sorry, I should’ve added the polls.

Crawford skills shine because he’s versatile. He’s capable of more than one style like Timmeh and Cotto
Whether he’s truly great at any of these styles remains to be seen
Floyd could do it all at a very good level or better. When push came to shove Floyd was excellent at outfighting and counterpunching
totally agree. I really hope we'll see Bud-Spence/Porter/Garcia in the next 2 years
On the flip side of Bud being amidextris Ward is a natural lefty that fought orthodox. Thats why his left hook was so good, and his jab. If you watched him fight enough you noticed he didnt have any power in his right, which was always weird to me, but it wasnt his dominant hand.
Wasn't that the right arm that needed surgery? On the Joe Rogan podcast Andre Ward said he had an injury for the longest time (right arm) rendering him a one armed puncher. It was weird, they found out the muscle was still supple and they surgically repaired it, making him two fisted later in his career. Btw: it's a very long podcast , over an hour.
Whew.
I'd say Ward is smarter and craftier.
Crawford I'd say is more versatile and could beat you in more ways with both hands.
They're pretty equal
