I think he doesn't really believe he can beat Fury or Joshua, but wants a big payday before leaving the game. If he was a couple inches taller he'd be a massive threat but he's not
I'm not convinced he is going to be a factor in the HW division. I can't see him beating Fury, AJ or Wilder. I can't really see him beating Parker or Ruiz either.
He has fought the same way, because he cannot adapt 'This is a sign of a fighter not really having a varied skill-set'.
He did not have Chisora nearly out of there, at any point in the fight.
Stop mentioning size, I have never seen so many predetermined excuses 'He weighs over 200 pounds, therefore he is a heavyweight'.
I commend Usyk for moving into the heavyweight division.
Adapt to what? He easily won the fight with no noticeable trouble lol don't fix what isn't broken.
And yea, he really did nearly have him out of there. Sometime after the sixth he put it on Chisora, backed him up, and landed clean punches...then the bell rang. Chisora wasn't looking steady on his legs walking back.
I mentioned his size because that's what everybody is saying. "He's too small. He's not that skilled. He doesn't hit hard". Evidence proves the opposite.
Them punches on the inside we're nothing. More of an annoyance than anything. I doubt Usyk will fight on the inside with any heavyweight to be fair, it's too dangerous. So holding and tucking his chin in was a smart tactic; it completely nullified anything effective.
Usyk never looks good in the first part of the fight, he's a notorious slow starter. He was the same at cruiserweight. But even with Chisora putting it on him, I don't think he looked uncomfortable in the slightest.
I guess we both saw the fight differently
Usyk got hit with some nice punches inside and had no answer back except to hold. You have to be able to fight in the clinch against bigger men. He clearly didn't like some of the body shots.
I didn't think Usyk looked good apart from rounds 7 and 8. All the other rounds he was on his bike and getting clipped. He landed some good shots but he was clearly uncomfortable and never looked (apart from 7 and 8) in control of the fight. Chisora is old slow and never that good to begin with.
He was extremely tentative for the first 4 rounds and didn't want to commit to his punches because he didn't like what was coming back. He only started to put more in to his shots once he saw Chisora was badly tiring.
Usyk ain't that great. He's very good but not that good

I doubt I'd pick him against Fury or Joshua, but against anyone else I probably would. One thing that stood out to me is his footwork, he really glides across the ring and he's always in control of the space. I think he's even better than Fury in that regard.
Usyk fought the same way he did at cruiser. Angles, accurate shots, decent speed. For a guy that's too small, not that skilled and with not enough power, he almost had Chisora out of there.
He's no Lomachenko, but he's still an extremely skilled and intelligent fighter. He'll beat all but a few of these heavyweights.

Ignore my previous comment lol
The work Chisora did on the inside was just an attempt at roughhousing. There was nothing serious there and Usyk never looked trouble. He'd just stay low, keep his chin tucked, and weather the mini storm. Besides the minor roughhouse tactics in clinched and the three or four overhand rights that Chisora landed, Usyk had it his own way. I think there was one punch in the entire fight that actually caught Usyk's attention, and even then, it didn't trouble him.
I see Usyk doing much better in the division than a lot of people think.

Let it go mate, just let it go.
Chisora in some ways has exposed Usyk 'His skills and abilities are not as deep as some people believed'.

Just watched the fight again. Chisora wasn't pushing Usyk back but he was landing hooks inside and Usyk didn't have much of an answer. He didn't look like he knew how to fight Chisora inside and looked to just hold.
For a P4P fighter Usyk took way to many punches from a slow as hell Chisora. In round 2 he got hit with about 6 within 30 seconds and look clearly rattled

And what fight were you watching? When it was a straight up clinch, it was Usyk pushing Chisora back. The only time Chisora looked better in the clinch was when he'd tie Usyk's arm up and would throw a quick succession of sloppy punches with the other hand.

He was getting manhandled by Chisora in the clinch. It was borderline rag dolled.
He gives beaten up by many of the top guys

Fury, no. Half a foot height and reach advantage, with Fury's skill, is just too much. But as for the others...he's fought and beat genuine heavyweights that were 6'5 and above in the WSB. Joe Joyce and Junior Fa are among his victims. As well as running rings around Klitschko in sparring for nearly a decade.

Usyk has under par inside fighting capabilities.
Everything is mostly from long range 'I don't really see him launching many attacks from mid-rage ether'.
I have no idea as to why? He is considered a pound for pound fighter 'In terms of pure boxing ability, he is not that level of a fighter'.
But once again 'I commend him for giving the heavyweight division a go'.
No he wasn't at all.
Maybe people need to rewatch the fight because there was plenty of times were Usyk was pushing Chisora back. Easily tying him up & walking him backwards.
Not too mention Chisora is easily one of the strongest and most physical fighters at HW.

I don't think a Olympic Gold Medalist and Undisputed Cruiser-weight champion 'Will go into any fight, with the mindset, that he cannot win'.
But for sure? Usyk is not as good as HE thinks he is 'In terms of physicality and skill set'.
People keep mentioning SIZE 'Even analyzing his skill-set, he is nothing out of this world'.
I think he has a decent shot against the B tier guys like Povetkin and Whyte. Fury would toy with him, hes got more of a chance vs Joshua but probably gets caught eventually.
Stylistically Gassiev might actually have more potential at HW because of his power. He would have probably sparked Chisora out.
Gassiev must face a heavyweight guy first.
I think Usyk beats Povetkin and Whyte.
But he is there to fight Joshua/Fury or at least Parker or Dubois for vacant WBO belt.

That’s not what I remember especially early on before he gassed.
What I remember is Chisora hitting him with hooks and body shots rattling his head around and Usyk looking uncomfortable.
I bought the PPV so I’ll see if I can watch it again

He did get rag dolled in the first round, but that was because of a combination of Chisora's size advantage, and the fact that Usyk is a notoriously slow starter, while Del Boy always starts fast.
Once Usyk got going and Chisora slowed down the whole dynamic of the fight changed.
