Big call considering that Haye never really did much at HW....
I stand by it, he had the beating of them all until he lost his reflexes... apart from the two Ukrainians who were too big and too good.
I’ve been a huge fan of Haye since he lost to Carl Thompson early on, he took a good beating in the 2nd half of that fight and carried on, wasn’t all flashy skills, he had a bit grit to him too.
I remember all the big talk back in 2008-2010 from Haye about facing a top heavyweight. Then the on/off Klitschko stuff. Then the toe. Frankly, I think Haye was a complete disappointment. He jerked off a lot but produced little. Then the Fury disappointment. His best win was after everybody figured him done, against Chisora. No, if prime Haye were around today there'd be no Whyte match and no Povetkin match. They'd dust off Carlos Takam or maybe, just maybe Bryant Jennings. Povetkin? Not a chance. Prime Haye would almost certainly avoid Povetkin, today's Povetkin, given his non-event career history. Hell, Povetkin has a FAR BETTER resume, NOT the type Haye ever chased at heavy.
For me Haye had the beating of any heavyweight not called Klitchko.
He would have beat Klitchko before Stewart learnt him to fight big.
Good match up with prime juicing POV, still think Haye was too good for him.
Like all reflex fighters, once you loose your speed/response your done.
Big call considering that Haye never really did much at HW....
The reason why movement is bad since the Joshua is the concussion even after the Rivas and `Parker and Potvetkin he is walking like a drunk who has just left the bar. To be frank he is now a shot fighter who has been riding his luck. Haye would beat quite quick possibly a 2nd round ko
Awhile back? I stated that there is a possibility, that Whyte could possibly be burnt out by the time he eventually gets his title shot.
In reality 'The Povetkin match up, is extremely bad management' Eddie Hearn deep down, knows Whyte has been burning himself out having all these wars.
Whyte has beaten some top heavyweights, but all of those fights where damaging fights 'The Povetkin knock out, was horrific'.
Whyte can try and play it off, as if it as just a slip 'But those type of knock-outs are traumatic for a fighter to go through etc.
I noticed the way, Whyte was attempting to intimidate Povetkin 'But Povetkin was extremely passive towards his attempts'.
But as I was saying? Whyte's movement has regressed since the Joshua fight 'I have always thought he looked to have more speed and athleticism back then' He clearly cannot carry his weight very well, there is quite a lot of non-functional muscle mass etc
Tyson Fury is 20 pounds heavier than when he fought Kiltschko, and he still carries the weight quite well 'Although we have not seen him, produce all of his old tricks as of yet'.
Whyte has terrible movement, it has gradually got worse since the Anthony Joshua fight.
David Haye at his peak has enough power to spark him out with, Hooks, Straight punches or Uppercuts 'While simultaneously invading Whyte's offense'.
Whyte only seems to have one hurtful punch 'Which is the left hook'.
Dillian Whyte just like Tyson Fury have a clumsy kid living inside of him 'For all of their boxing ability, they have moments of complete and utter clumsiness' This is not a good trait to have going up against a peak David Haye.
Tyson Fury at the time he was scheduled to fight David Haye, was portrayed as clumsy heavyweight 'Haye at that time, still had enough left to obliterate Fury in my opinion'.

Better question... Prime Haye vs Prime Povetkin?

A bit of beef with these two at the moment.
Who wins? I think Haye flattens him in 5.
Really good fantasy match up. I agree. Haye KO’s him. The hate that arrived for chisora was crazy good. But whyte can go. So I wouldn’t discount him. He was looking good against povetkin until he got blazed. 65/ 35 advantage for haye. Too athletic and better pedigree.
I'd take Haye by KO. Haye, for whatever faults he had, was a fast and coordinated heavyweight at his best, especially compared to the mostly lumbering HWs of today. I'm fact, I strongly felt that Haye would have brutally knocked Joshua out even before the Andy Ruiz fight. Joshua has always been fairly stiff and robotic, plus he's not good defensively. Haye being fairly nimble on his feet and able to launch sudden attacks would have presented Joshua real problems.

Haye was a very dangerous fight for Fury at the time, probably 50/50.
