That guy sounds butt hurt as hell. They are athletes not politicians. lol at him rooting for Chisora against Usyk because hes butthurt Usyk doesnt advocate his political positions. Its election year in the US and its pretty polarized, I still cant imagine many boxing fans being so butthurt at a boxer for being silent on politics that they would root for some random Chisora level eurobum to upset him. In fact I would welcome it if athletes and celebrities shut the fuk up on politics and let me just enjoy the fight, or the movie, show ect. I went to see Queen last year with Adam Lambert and it was great. I was hoping he wouldnt start a bunch of political commentary and guess what he didnt, all they did is let people enjoy the songs. Of course there are the same types that are butthurt he isnt politically active, but they want him to be politically active AND in agreement with THEIR politics.

I dont get it, what does the author want them to do? Become a political activist? they were both focusing on their careers & clearly did not want to get involved. Also that 'war' is not as easily simplified as ' Russia invaded Ukraine' it was a highly complicated geo-politcal issue. Ukraine had recently installed a U.S puppet leader, previous leaders jailed, assasinated, voting ballots rigged etc etc. Not claiming to be an expert but its not as simple as the author is making out ' the evil ruskies invaded our lands and Loma & Usyk basically become aligned with the evil ruskies in their silence' which is obviously not true, as shown by Usyk almost calling off his WBSS final with Gassiev due to not wanting to fight in Russia. Not to mention, the part of Ukraine that Russia “invaded” is full of ethnic Russians. Ask them if they prefer the Ukrainian ultra nationalists or the Russian “invaders”.

They are not in a good position. They can take their country's side, piss off half their population as well as Russia or piss off the other side. They are not into politics and they should not have to play them.

Torn. I couldn't see me not standing up for my countrymen, but, also, I appreciate those who keep politics out of boxing. Or at least detailed politics. The fact is every movement has a 'noble' goal, human beings aren't the evil caricatures we see in Hollywood movies - human beings have to operate under the idea that they are doing something for a good cause, not to serve 'the forces of evil'. The fact is if you have members of your group committing acts of violence and they go uncondemned by the leaders then it will reflect badly on your movement. Anyway this is definitely my last comment in this thread, you make some fair points, but unfortunately there are some bad apples that seemingly are ignored. It's done purposely, unfortunately. I wasn’t talking about whatever the latest situation is. I don’t follow the news since George Floyd. There is no trap. I’d be ignorant to say that there aren’t black people out there that are doing violent acts. But to conflate that with the BLM movement is where you’re mistaken. If you want to understand the BLM agenda you have to listen to their leaders not people who just wave their flag while they are clearly committing crime. I can where a BLM shirt and go do something and I will get placed into the movement because I had the shirt on. Failure to listen to the messaging from the leaders in the movement is the reason why they’ve been labeled negatively in the first place. There are people that want chaos and there a people that want change and equality. The Republican Party was that of Abraham Lincoln. This I also know. But as it pertains to race and economics that all changed with the pinnacle of that change occurring during the civil rights movement. When JFK and eventually LBJ (who was the son of southern slave owners) decided to get on the right side of history. That is when the loyalty to a party changed. The racist and the powers that be didn’t just disappear. They just switched parties as well. If you know history things don’t just go away dude. They just transfer. With all due respect, I highly doubt either of these guys would have a hard time being promoted anywhere in the world because of political backlash from the Ukraine and Russia. Why even take the risk, why put yourself in a potentially dangerous position for either your career or health. Staying neutral in these types of positions is the only logical option.
