He did it all night...that's illegal.
Anytime Lomo would get up close he would push him or stiff arm him.
Teo can't fight on the inside, and he got exposed hard for this.
NSB told me Canelo was green vs Floyd
so yeah.. Lopez is actually greener than 2013 Canelo so...
Yeah, because they're Canelo groupies who are mad about the loss. They're the same ones who say that Byrd's card in the first Golovkin fight was legit.
They also say that if Canelo had those two pounds it would have been a quick KO. Same idiots that say Canelo could beat Briedis at Cruiserweight
I don't disagree with you, but NSB isn't consistent with that stance. Like when Horn did it to Manny and Manny didn't do it back.
Fighters cry over low blows, they should do likewise with headlocks and rabbit punches.
If they don't complain, oh well.
the ref did a very poor job, he never got control of the fight and it was ugly to watch, we couldnt see lomachenko at his best cause of it.
You talking about the 'pushing off' that Teo was doing all fight ? Tbh I don't see many refs preventing that kind of tactic. I thought he was good on the holding and low blows and was fairly objective.
Now the Salido fight, that was ugly and determined the fight. IMO the Salido fight was closer than the Lopez decision. I think it's absurd to say that Loma was dominated in either of those fights, but losing to Lopez was less controversial (even tho the scorecards were off, I think the right guy got the nod).
With Salido, he should have been penalized and points taken away, thereby awarding Loma the victory.
You think the Lopez fight was closer ?
I don’t know, I guess different rules, different states, because I remember Amir Khan wasn’t allowed to do that against Lamont Pederson.
Lol ,yeah I remember that fight
Lopez's shoulder tackle was ATG.
Potentially putting him in good stead to be an all time great. 1 week ago I thought nothing of Lopez, both his boxing IQ or his skills . He definitely surpassed my expectations and to think he is relatively green. He has had no real championship experience and has never been in a difficult situation in a fight. I hear a lot of people saying Teo was getting hit easily and was in trouble. That’s supposed to happen he was up against two time highly killed olympic Champion who has experienced every type of fighter in his illustrious amateur career. Did Lopez pushed him off illegally I suppose so if you want to nitpick but that fight will only make him better in the future and when it was time to dig deep as Loma was pressing the action he found another gear and finished the show comfortably. He can only get better from here, he did what many people thought he couldn’t do. Loma did not drown him he backstroked to shore.
The minute the fight finished he apologised to Loma I assume for all the S#hit talking. He has earned the right to run his gums as much as he wants as he has gone in the ring and proved himself against the odds and knowing if he lost he would be earning peanuts
Correct. Loma's headbutts were deliberate and excessive.
He was doing it all fight and finally cut lopez in the 12th when he was hurt. He’s a dirty fighter. I’d offer him an 80-20 split fir rematch
lol. so we're going to pretend like Floyd wasn't accused of ducking Canelo before their fight? if he was so green. why say Floyd is duckin him? If you don't remember the threads are still here to read ..
and are we gonna pretend that Floyd wasnt 36yrs old. pretty much washed up in boxing years. he was there for the taking and Canelo only managed to win a total of- nope. he won 0 rounds lol
and here is Loma the "best boxer on earth" according to ESPN getting bullied..
2013 Canelo is way better than 2020 Teofimo
Yes true Canelo is better than Lopez but Floyd is better than Lomachenko. Mayweathers have good genes that don’t age like regular people look at his dad he fought CHarlie Z at 65 most people at 65 can barley walk around the block
Maybe I need some coffee or something, but I'm not really getting this exchange here. . .
I might need to give this Loma fight talk a rest. It's more and more frustrating every time I watch the fight. Even though it was kind of close, Lopez looked like the stronger, quicker, more in control fighter that night. :pat:
I don't think it very wise for Teo to run it again with Loma. He's got plenty of options now. As for Loma, I'm not really sure where he goes from here. It may be time to just leave it to the younger generation...
I think Loma has a real problem... Beercules said it best "Loma belongs at 130" and trying to make that weight at mid thirtyish is probably not possible without a lot of other problems...
I think Loma is a great fighter who cannot deal with very physical, bigger opponents. I contrast this with a guy like Ward. He could do something like distinguish himself at 130... Real fans often say, and I am inclined to agree, that "great" Mayweather was 135 and below. Loma could put an exclamation point on that if he can go back down and win.
finally, its not such an abnormality for a great fighter... Madonna and even De La Hoya, for a while, gave Floyd fits...
He did it all night...that's illegal.
Anytime Lomo would get up close he would push him or stiff arm him.
Teo can't fight on the inside, and he got exposed hard for this.
He also hit Loma, which is a no-no.
Say what you will about Loma, but he didn’t go in there and start hitting Lopez ... at least not right away. After seven rounds of Teo repeatedly hitting him without the ref intervening, he figured he might as well do it himself.
NSB told me Canelo was green vs Floyd
so yeah.. Lopez is actually greener than 2013 Canelo so...
Are you sure Canelo started boxing at 13 he fought Floyd at 23 thats 10 years of boxing he had 15 amateur bouts 40 pro boxing bouts at the time of the Floyd fight
Teo started boxing at 8 he fights Lomachenko at 23 thats 15 years of boxing experience had 170 amateur bouts thats 155 more amateur bouts than Canelo with 5 more years of boxing experience. Canelo had more pro fights thats it.Than Canelo had to fight the self pro claimed TBE with only 10 years of boxing behind his belt do you thinks thats winnable no way not enough experience to fight one of the best boxers in history
Exactly. All the chatter is sounds like it's coming from people who expected Loma to win
There was nothing excessive that dictated the fight, and honestly not that there was "excessive pushing off", loma was coming in with his head. Not on purpose I'm sure they have clashing stances, but I would rather get warnings for pushing off instead of getting headbutted all night and cut.
Excessive pushing go look at lamont vs Khan, this was nothing.
I thought that Loma would win but credit to Teo for proving me wrong and I hope they run it back. I think there are still some unanswered questions, like what if Loma starts faster? Does he get knocked out? Does Teo figure out an answer if Loma picks up where he left off in rounds 8-11? I would love to find out.
The ref probably betted on Teo who knows. He should have had been warned and had points taken away in my opinion. Lopez wanted no part of an inside fight because he was getting hit clean while he was missing

Why was Teofimo allowed to stiff arm and push Lomo? | BoxingScene Community
