If you look at this Lopez vs Loma highlight video you would have thought Loma won.
This was such a weird fight since the winner only won by activity while having almost no punches to put in a highlight video as his shots were mostly blocked or him punching air.
AS I said the day of the fight, Lopez threw punches but barely landed any. He was rocked in the 9th. F the judges.
And your point?
The right man won the fight!
What? No rematch clause? Don't blame the 23 year old!
Doh!
Lopez won 5 of the first 6 rounds because Loma didn't do anything. So you're not going to see many clean effective punches from Lopez. When Loma turned it on in the second half, he was the one landing all the shots.. Lopez did land some in the 12 though.
But no, he didn't land any combination punches Loma's punches were by far the most effective and the most clean.
All you need to do is win rounds in this sport though. And when you give up 5 of the first 6, or on some cards, 6 of the first 6... you're in the hole big.
Right. You can win “feel out” rounds, especially the first by throwing 8 jabs instead of the opponents 7. It’s worth a full point. A later round someone can Outland by ten punches, maybe even wobble a guy, and it’s still only worth a single point. Even scored rounds and 10-8 rounds are frowned upon. So that leaves a lot of space for what a point can be worth even in the relativity of a single fight. Barely win the first six, lose the next six bad, and it can still be a draw. I understand the system. I know there are 12 round fights and you have to strategize that way. But if someone wins the last five rounds in a fight and has the other guy surviving for dear life at the end...then in the eye of the beholder how much were all those early points really worth if they didn’t do enough damage to stop the other guy from being the fresher stronger fighter in the end? Im not waxing about the Loma v López fight exactly. I think López won fair. Got the 12th. If there were no points, and it was based on who was winning at the end like a race?
Lol his body work in the early part was amazing. Also he landed a great uppercut late on.
In round 12 he was putting it on Loma and caught him hard twice
People are counting throwing punches as landing punches. The pros scorecards are now officialy worse than the amateurs. No teo did not land any meaningful shots. He landed some body shots but loma landed much more cleaner shots the whole fight. Not sure what the guys from compubox were looking at. They were scoring throwing shots as landed.
Loma threw punches?
I liked some of the uppercuts catching Loma trying to come in such as this pic!

Quit trying to slander Teofimo's performance.
If you don't like the kind of punches Teofimo landed, you have to blame Lomachenko... he was the one who refused to open up and attack because he knew he would be countered. He didn't fight like a number one p4p fighter. During the early rounds even Lopez had a "wtf" look on his face on why Lomachenko wasn't making it a fight and refusing to throw punches.
I was going around telling anyone who listened, that Loma was gonna school this kid, Lopez is green, mentally weak, and it will easy work for Loma. I really thought Loma was gonna destroy this kid’s career.
Instead Lomachenko went in there and laid an egg. And you’re right, Lopez had a bit of a confused look on him at times at Lomachenko’s lack of “fight”. He also landed many punches at a speed that impressed me. Both my woman and I thought Lomachenko was going to win. I showed Loma fights and Lopez fights and we greed Loma should win. We both saw Lomachenko lose. Lopez landed the better punches, more punches, in more rounds. Plain and simple.
Really so someone who won 5 maybe 6 rounds will get the decision if the promoters want that person to win proof Rolly won 3 rounds got the fight Floyd won 4 rounds against Castillo still got the win. Oh lets not forget Bradley won 2 rounds against Pacquiao and he got the win because Bob was angry at Pacquaio
Top rank wanted Loma to win

Lopez landed some nice body shots, was working his jab constantly and landing the occasional nice uppercut. It's true that Loma was landing better once he closed in and started to open up but he didn't even start to do that properly until round 8 when he'd effectively already lost the fight on the scorecards. He could have won the fight but his gameplan, if he had one, was all wrong.

Like I said, Loma Groupies are Running Wild right now and are in Spin Mode looking to Salvage and fight some time of glory in Defeat but it is not working :nonono:
Your God LOST! Get Over It! Still a Great Fighter regardless BUT young Teofimo Lopez has a good Gameplan and was able to disrupt Loma Rhythm and Flow
You need to calm down. Just relax.
That's what you got? Lol... I scored the fight a draw, I can see Lopez by a round. Loma landed by far the more clean/effective punches. It's just the fact that you give up so many rounds early, you're screwed.
But obviously it wouldn't have mattered with the judges doing what they did.

Tyson Fury didnt land any highlight punch on Wilder while wilder has one of the craziest knockdowns ever...still doesnt erase the other rounds.. dominating 2 rounds wont erase the other 10..lopez won by a wide margin.
If you look at this Lopez vs Loma highlight video you would have thought Loma won.
This was such a weird fight since the winner only won by activity while having almost no punches to put in a highlight video as his shots were mostly blocked or him punching air.
How can there be any highlight punches when Loma spent 66% of the fight running and not engaging?
It’s like guys are blaming Teo for Loma not fighting or discrediting his way because Loma only tried to win for 4 rounds of the fight.
This is true. I was drunk watching the fight but all I could remember were Loma shots landing with a more pronounced impact and result. I only ever saw Lopez's head being jolted around from the shots and nice combinations from Loma. I can't recall any significant punch that landed on Loma and if he landed 1 that did, does that mean he deserved to win the entire fight?
