Lets his fighter Maxim Dadashev fight at 140 even though he's only 142 or something in the ring, vs an undefeated fighter who prob weighed about 160. Not too surprisingly after fighting someone about 20 pounds heavier than him at a small weight class, Dadashev died afterwards.
Lets Loma fight Teofimo Lopez with a bad shoulder. Loma maybe takes more punishment in that fight than the rest of his career combined.
Lets Kovalev fight Canelo 9 weeks after being nearly out on his feet vs Yarde. Kovalev gets knocked out badly by someone who didn't have KO power at 154 pounds.
Lets Oleksandr Usyk go from huge career momentum winning WBSS at cruiserweight, to now basically sitting on the bench at heavyweight for nearly two yers. Lets Usyk get leapfrogged for AJ by Pulev, a C-level fighter. That would be like if Canelo got leaped for a mandatory at middleweight by Gregorz Proksa.
Lets Oleksandr Gvozdyk work with Teddy Atlas.
At least, these are the official accounts of things that happened. I think a lot of the "official story" in boxing is bull****. But I'm just saying if you believe the official stories about his fighters the last few years, man, this guy would have to be one of the worst most incompetent managers in the history of the sport!
Wasn't the Pulev mando called before the Usyk mando? Pretty sure the orgs have a rotation.
But, yeah, idk if I blame Klimas for people dying or anything stupid....
It's irrelevant. The order of the mandos change constantly. The rules change constantly. There are no rules. The bigger name, or the fighter with the better manager, jumps the line. They get the sanctioning body to come up with some bull****, like "Franchise" or calling for title eliminators for the other guys, etc.
GGG was mandatory for Cotto before Canelo. Canelo jumped the line and got the Cotto fight first. You're telling me GGG, a big star, can get jumped, but Pulev can't? The gap between Usyk's stardom, and Pulev's, might be, percentage wise, even bigger than the gap between Canelo's stardom and GGG's.
So it's all bull****. I fully expect Usyk to pull a Kovachenko when he gets a big fight at heavyweight anyway. As if a Ukrainian who doesn't speak english is going to derail either english speaking UK cash cow, AJ or Fury, or the biggest active name in American boxing, Deontay Wilder. If Usyk's fans are lucky, he will win the 1st of 2 fights against one of them, or 1 out of 3, but no more.
