Honest question...do you Ortiz fans really think Ortiz is better than Povetkin?
Ortiz is fighting some bum named Alexaner Flores next where Povetkin is still fighting top contenders and will fight Whyte again
I just wonder why Eddie Hearn and Dillian Whyte were so obsessed with avoiding Ortiz if he wasn’t any good.
Here, beat this guy and we will give you the title shot you say you want. “NOOOOOO!!!!!!!”
Actually, it was fairly apparent why Whyte wanted no part of the Cuban Missile and is beyond obvious now.
You're wrong doe.
The Cuban turned down Hearn/Whyte's offer of good money,
was asked to cancel Luis' undercard fight with a bum named Razvan Cojanu
and travel to the UK for the Dillan Whyte clash.
Ortiz was asking for "silly money," according to Whyte.
I think Luis was already sweet talked by uncle Haymon and stick with PBC at this point.
If Fury beat him first those same clowns would say Ortiz was an out of shape old man, and they would be right. Wilder beats him twice and they act like Ortiz wasn’t fat and 40.
That exact situation happened when Ortiz was being sought as an opponent for AJ (before Wilder fought him). Ortiz was a no-name grandad. A few months later (after he turns down the AJ fight for an easier route in Wilder) and Ortiz is an in-his-prime beast who nobody wants to fight
Kind of like how Povetkin was one of the best in the division when he was scheduled to fight Wilder, fails a drug test, schedules a fight with AJ and all of a sudden he's old and shot in the space of 12 months lol
Wildettes will say anything they can to hype up the aluminium bomber or to minimise the success of his rivals. Why? Because (not so) deep down they know his career has been a joke :thumbsdow
I agree but he is still a moron poster
Ortiz and Povetkin seem equal in technical skill ,but i fancy Povetkin is more durable, hits harder and also has much more world class experience

No.
It was ordered after he got KOed.
No one does that, not even me. I won't honor such fraudulent eliminator.
If you were a boxer that has fought a final eliminator and was denied by a corrupt body. Will you fight another eliminator with a guy that just got KOed BT the guy you are going for? Be practical, don't be an o-yes fan.

Toyed with him by saying ‘here’s a fight, you win and you get a title shot’?
That’s the kind of ‘toyed with’ every fighter dreams of getting, lol.
The hilarious thing is AJ is sitting there with belts and Hearn is over Dillian’s career using Whyte as a human shield saying ‘if you want a shot at AJ you have to beat this guy’ ... but he wouldn’t give Dillian a shot at AJ. And Whyte totally bought into it.

Do you have any boxing idea? Fight an eliminator with someone that just got KOed. Are you kidding me?
WBC had no excuse to toy with whyte that way.

Whyte was offered a title eliminator against Ortiz and noped out of there with speed no one knew he had.

Whyte turned it down because he was already headlined main event at the O2 on that June 28th date ,he didn’t want to fight on the PBC undercard . Ortiz however did turn it down and tried flipping the script with a counter offer and with a fight that was on the same day , Ortiz declined the the O2 one on the 28th and for way bigger money ,how can anyone claim Whyte ducked him and said he needed more time which makes him a liar to since he fought on that day ? Ha
It wasn’t a final title eliminator either , Breazeale at that time was the actual mandatory for Wilder and had not fought him yet so a win over Ortiz doesn’t change anything . Whyte won his final elimination bout against Rivas which was after all that . These Wilder lunatics are all over the place .
I was genuinely asking because I don’t keep up with who ducked who amongst the heavyweights since everyone seems to have a side to the story.
Wilder haters were no less obsessed with the guy. According to them Ortiz is hundreds of thousands of years old, like some sort of prehistoric caveman that they carved out of a block of ice somewhere.
If you feel avoided, you and your team should make an offer. No body owes him any shhhit.
The only reason Ortiz is been talked about is because he is a southpaw lined up for wilder to feed on.

I added this .
Ortiz in 2016/ 2017 was signed to a 3 fight deal by Matchroom and had to fulfill one last contractual fight in that 3 fight deal on Matchroom while AJ was fighting his current mandatory who was Pulev , the last fight Ortiz was offered was actually Whyte in 2017 which makes him declined that match two times . Instead of fighting Whyte and waiting for AJ he terminated his contract .
This is interesting. I'd never really looked that deeply into it, just heard that Whyte turned down a final eliminator with Ortiz, is there any truth to that?
Ortiz turned down a big PPV with Whyte in the U.K because he said he needed more time so Parker took him place . If you look at the date they fought you’ll see Ortiz fought on the exact same day against Razvan Cojanu . He wasn’t avoided by anyone even skipped off his mandatory for AJ .
I thought there might be more to it than what I said but Ortiz seems to have built this reputation of being an avoided fighter which is fuel for Wilder fans when his resume is under question.
