Let's be honest. Loma greatly lacked his usual speed tonight. This is the reason why he ran for the first 5 rounds and couldnt find his rhythm.
Also he looked full of water, i.e. his weight didnt look like a useful muscle mass.
Dont know what happened to him - he got old, or layoff has cought to him, or bad preparation, or all of this.
This fight would have looked totally different if Loma had been in his usual form.
Even in later rounds he looked much slower in my opinion. His feet looked slow, especially. He wouldnt have been so great if always had such slow footwork.
he looked his usual form in later rounds when he actually tried to engage, too bad he also got popped easily by Lopez. If he fought with some aggression in the earlier rounds like he did the later rounds, he would've been KO'd. It's not that Loma was off tonight, it's that he felt Lopez' power early on and became timid. Loma is all smoke and mirros, great amateur but professional is a whole different ball game at the elite levels and loma just can't compete with bigger guys who can pop. Makes sense now whey Loma and his dad avoid Pacquiao like the plague when Pacquiao was trying to meet them at 140 and even 135!
