Let's say Lomachenko beats Lopez, then beats Haney to win all the belts at lightweight. Where would you rank him all time?
Tied for fewest number of fights to win a world title
Holds the record for fewest number of fights to win a world title in 2 and 3 weight classes
Wins all the belts at LW
All in less than 20 fights
Would he rank in the top 20 all time?
"If Lomachenko becomes undisputed at LW."
The boxing world is insane.
Four belts are required to be undisputed?
What should be questioned is the raison d'être of today's alphabet orgs.
No, I personally don’t. That said, if AJ doesn’t make the mando and doesn’t get an exception from the sanctioning body, he has to drop the belt.
Haney only had the belt because Loma dropped it and took the franchise title rather than fight him.
Again, completely understand why he did that.
Respectfully, whatever we believe is irrelevant because Haney did everything the sanctioning body required.
Why do boxers get an immediate wbo title shots in their 1st fights in the division?
Because the wbo rules are that if you are champion in a weight class and you move up, you can automatically be ranked #1 and get a title shot ( not exact wording but you know what I mean).
You and I may not agree with Loma getting that shot. I may not agree with Usyk or Stevenson or Crawford moving up and getting the title fight immediately, but those are the wbo rules.
I get you don’t think Haney can win. What if you’re wrong and he did win?
That is why I don’t think our opinions should drive this. I’m sure we’ve both thought someone wasn’t ready and we were both proven wrong.
Just like how a politician would say it.
Applause applause

That’s exactly my opinion regarding Haney fighting Loma.
So do you think Trevor Bryan deserves to face AJ next?
If you’re gonna keep with this official narrative you have to be consistent.
Haney isn’t Loma’s mandatory either man, they are both belt holders. Fortuna is the official WBC mando.
Just personally, I don’t believe Haney has earned the right to fight Lomachenko. I don’t care about artificial rankings, I care about the best fighting the best. The belts mean nothing to me tbh bro.

Look guys this is morphed into a separate discussion. I’m not trying to derail the thread anymore.
I think tonight is going to be a really great fight and I’m looking forward to it.
Yeah it turned into a ill give other people an exception except Lomachenko and when you ask me to be consistent ill deflect it because I don't want to be held accountable.
Yeah buddy!
It's the exact same discussion minus the names. Lmfao! That's called objectivity!
We all see what you're doing! Lolololo

2 different arguments dude.
It doesn’t matter what any of us thinks about deserves. He earned the title shot through the proper procedure. Period.
If you don’t like the way things are, that is understandable but that doesn’t mean Haney suddenly doesn’t have the right to the fight.
Since when does someone have prove they are a “credible threat “? You’re literally making up rules that don’t exist.
It doesn’t matter who you want to see fight. It matter who earns the mandatory title shot.

Did what was necessary to get a belt.
Didn’t do what was necessary to prove he’s a capable of mixing it with the elite.
It’s not Haney’s fault at all, it’s a systematic problem with the rankings.
Again, there may be problems with the system but there is no requirement that someone “prove” They can mix it up with the Elite.
If you require proof, then a fight with Loma is a chance for Haney to prove it. He has earned the right to prove it against who ever the champion is.
This thread has nothing to do with Floyd or whatever warped agenda you have.
Bro. The only people here with agendas are people like you.
You just don't like being called out on the **** you do. Always trying to act so slick like you're the smartest guy in the room.
You're not. Its pretty funny though.
I know youre the leader. Those other stupid guys are much too stupid. You know how to play dumb.
I’m not bias whatsoever, anyone who understands the sport knows ABC rankings don’t give an accurate reflection whatsoever.
For example, Trevor Bryan is #1 with the WBA and has some form of title. Does he “deserve” to face Anthony Joshua next?
At the this present time, Haney hasn’t done anything to suggest he is a credible threat to Loma. Until he does by fighting and beating better opposition, (which I think he’s capable of) me and most other objective fans aren’t interested in seeing him fight Lomachenko on the back of a string of wins against C and D level opposition.

Bruh.
You and all your buddies have been on damage control all week because you have felt so threatened by this fight and because you feel like your iden****** are getting attacked.
Do you have the same critism for Floyd? Nope!
But people like me are biased right?
Floyd had all the power he could to unify and become undisputed in almost any division. Why didn't he?
No one else has ever had that kind if control over their own destiny and what did he do?
Why didn't he fight Thurman or any of the young bucks when he had a few fights left?
So funny man.
When people point out legit critisms for Floyd you guys all get so butt hurt but here you're literally claiming that Loma is ducking Devin Haney because hes all you guys have left.
And that's a shame because at that point its not even about boxing anymore.
Too funny man.
This thread has nothing to do with Floyd or whatever warped agenda you have.
Fair point. It might be the franchise title.
Either way I just don’t think it was fair to ask Haney to prove himself again. He did what was necessary.
He followed the rules. Did what he was supposed to. Now we seem to have posters that want to create artificial criteria for a mandatory challenger to get a fight.
That isn’t right imo.

He doesn’t have to be near Loma’s level. He is the mandatory. A requirement for being the mando isnt “ probe you are elite”.
As to proving he is elite, He can prove it by beating loma.
Your wording is unfair and incredibly biased. Loma wouldn’t be fighting a talented prospect who was gifted a belt.
He’d be making his mandatory defense against the #1 ranked boxer per the rules of the sanctioning body. Just like every other champion is required to do.
It’s like you’re rewriting the rules just for Loma.

Just as a side note
It wasn’t the emeritus title. I’m not saying it just to nitpick either. Right now, nobody is sure whether or not the WBC Franchise is the true title (like the Super WBA).
We thought we knew, but Sulaiman has said the WBC sees it as the true title, and that if Lopez wins, he would win it also. That is pretty much how the Super WBA works. Personally I think the Franchise title is now the true WBC title making the WBC a two title system. But it’s up in the air

you dont have to fight someone because they are your mandatory. just drop the belt. why waste your time fighting an unknown unproven guy when you can fight the #1 guy? the reason canelo ducking ggg was so bad is because not only was ggg his mandatory but he was also clearly the best fighter in the division and would have made him the most money. i dont see haney having any of those traits. the only trait that would entice loma would be money and no offer was even made so yeah no fight. haney is fighting gamboa so that shoulddddd tell you whats going on here
It doesn’t matter what anyone’s opinion of Haney is. He earned the shot in the ring as required.
If Loma doesn’t defend against his mandatory and drops the belt as he did, you should be as critical of him as you are any other champion that avoids an opponent in that way.
What’s going on here is he was denied a title fight he earned and now he is taking fights against other opponents while he waits for his shot.
What is really sad is Loma defended against the mando when he had what was a easy win on paper ( Campbell I think).
The he drops because Haney is high risk, low reward and he wants the money from the lopez fight.
Cool, we all understand that. It just isn’t right for anyone to ask Haney to” prove” himself.
We can’t make up new standards for opponents just because it’s Loma.
People have been threatened by Lomachenko all week lmfao.
Man these people are so insecure because they literally feel like a part of their identity is being attacked
I’m not holding anything against him but he’s nowhere near the level of Loma.
Loma literally fought better opposition in his debut. :lol1:
Let Haney go beat Campbell, Linares etc and prove he’s elite.
Then we’ll get two proven elite fighters mixing it instead of an elite fighter essentially fighting a talented prospect who was gifted a belt.
He doesn’t have to be near Loma’s level. He is the mandatory. A requirement for being the mando isnt “ probe you are elite”.
As to proving he is elite, He can prove it by beating loma.

are you saying you agree?
lomo lost to a bum?
He lost to a corrupt ref who shouldn't be in the business... Probably had a death warrant hanging over his head from the Sonora Cartel. :)
