No fan ever is for marinating. It’s the aftermath that sucks. “They should’ve waited”..”Too soon”...the hindsight bias kicks in by the majority of fans. And then Lomachenko is left with little credit for the win once everything settles a month or two later. Especially after Lopez tastes defeat a few more times and the win diminishes from little credit to nothing. Almost every fight is like this. Hype, excitement, “best time for it”, best fighting the best, wooo! “He’s a classic fighter!”. Yep, then it kicks in after the wide decision. The hindsight bias, it’s still undefeated. It’s not that the hindsight comments are wrong, it’s that it took for the action to happen for people to think logically. The logical posts pop up, only using logic AFTER the fact, not before (that is with everything in life). Sh/t if everyone thought before taking an action, everyone’s timeline’s would be closer to perfect wouldn’t it? Boxing fans are very fickle though. I’m used it. We all know how piss poor the championship titles are in boxing, with multiple champions. Then say “He’s a champion tho”. “He won a title...he’s ready”...”Titles don’t mean anything anymore...but he won one of them, he’s ready for the best...”. Lol, if the shoe fits... I hear ya. You can't make everybody happy, and someone will always have a complaint. As you can see with Loma critics, he gets painted into a no-win situation. If he dominates Lopez, there will be those that say he was too green and needed more experience, hence taking credit away from the win. Then again, if Lopez is allowed a couple more fights before Loma, that opens up another can of worms - - > "Loma got old" , "Teo waited him out", "They should have fought sooner", etc etc. That's really my main point. If this fight were to be postponed, we'll never know what a prime Lomachenko would have looked like vs Lopez. I say take it ASAP, and maybe still leave some time for Haney, Tank, and Garcia before the decline. Maybe you are worried that people will say, "Oh, Teo needed more experience, he had no chance, the fight was rushed" etc etc. That doesn't really concern me. If Teofimo is legit a star, he will regain the title. Maybe he needs this fight now in order to become great. So many possibilities, and people just like to talk.. It's virtually impossible to please everybody with the timing of fights. With the talent at 135, I'm sure we have opportunity to see a more experienced Haney or Garcia in with Loma. IMO, Loma beats them all in his prime. The deciding factor in Loma's next loss will be his age. If he loses, it's only because his body betrayed him. Just my opinion. Peace. :notworthy

You've been making a lot of sensible posts here lately. I agree with your 3 points here too, but with this caveat... I wanted this fight to happen before Lomachenko became another year older. The sooner this bout was to happen, the better. Actually same thing with Tank, Haney, and Garcia. I realize he can only fight one guy at a time, but sooner the better. Havent been this excited for a fight for a loong time now. Campbell is a better boxer then Lopez IMO, taller has a better boxing resume and more experienced. Campbell was 31 when him and Loma fought, and he had the strength of a man, Lopez is still developing.

The right thing to do would have been to defend the title vs some guys Lomachenko has fought, like Linares and Campbell, before facing Lomachenko, imo. 1. It would give Lopez more experience 2. It would give him wins over two more top 10 LW’s and 3. It would have given us som hype, something to compare of the two. Commey isn’t much to go by. Lopez is a world champion and as such he should be reading and willing to fight the best boxers his weight not just cherry pick guys he knows he can beat. That is not the way a good champion does things. Lopez is an ass hole but to his credit he demanded to fight the best guy at his weight to try to unify all the belts. It is the number 1 lightweight against the number 2 lightweight for all the titles and that rarely happen and is good for boxing. Enjoy the fight.

Loma is pissed off and will try hard and succeed in KOing annoying Lopez. Lopez will get the beating and KO loss he deserves for talking all that sh it. He could have been respectful and just go out and fight his best but he has no class and no respect, He is a good fighter about to learn how great fighters beat the hell out of good fighters. There's a dude here on NSB that can tell every fight winner, primarily from watching the press conference and weigh-ins. I'm not mentioning the name, but he hasn't been wrong yet (as far as I know), during my short duration here. I'ma try and view the press conference and get a feel... :boxing: oh ok and who would that be? I would love to make some guaranteed money.

If he does well its because he jumps on him early and explodes and is successful but that's a tall order. I also knew going in Luke had a tall order and was going to take a beating probably but Luke is a high IQ fighter and elite boxer and he had a different kind of chance, as styles make fights. Its not easy to find opponents you can truly favor, or say they make a 50/50 fight against elite slickster high IQ wizards like Lomachenko, Rigondeaux, Fury, Mayweather, Sweet Pea, Pep, Locche, B-Hop, SRR, Ali, Benton. Guys who can throw from almost anywhere, have elite defense, and are steps ahead of their opponent at all times, you can't just say "well this guy has power, he'll catch him", for example. Slick high IQ fighters don't just get caught or thrown off their game easily.

I believe Lomachenko wins but I don't see in ending by knockout or stoppage.

Teo is likely not the most talented fighter he’s fought if you compare a p4p sense towards Rigo but this is the only fight that makes me go. Well....maybe. Whoever wins is going to carry an impressive win. Loma’s win (if he does) will get better with time because Teo is really really good. If Teo wins, he has an instant amazing hall of fame win and until he loses, it’ll be hard to see anyone in whatever division he’s in be considered as better than him (in terms of perception). He can go undefeated the rest of his career and this win would be such that it very well could be the best victory of his entire career, past AND future. He downplays it but he definitely knows this. Don’t count him out.

To answer your question - I think the reason so many people are 'predicting' that outcome is cuz those people are turned off by Lopez's bravado, and want to see him humbled. As far as faring better than Luke Campbell ? Uh, I think Teo can do just about as good as Luke. Luke looked pretty tired and desperate at the end there, kind of falling down n stuff. Teo has some quick, heavy handed, slick moves that Loma should keep an eye out for. But if it goes to the championship rounds, I see Teo looking much like Campbell did at the end. And without a big height advantage, he won't be able to lean on top of Loma, like Luke was doing so...we'll see. :boxing:

Yes he does. But a shorter reach than Linares, Pedrazza, Campbell and Walters. He is also stronger and more aggressive than all those guys, too.

Ok real question.. Then why couldn't any of the other 13 title challengers that he faced, identify and implement this said cryptonite ? Granted "cryptonite" is something that makes one weak, defenseless, and neutralizes all their strengths....Everybody has the blueprint, right ? For a moment in time, perhaps.
