Why is the Linares win so heavily highlighted for Loma?

Imagine Lopez landing his “lucky” punches on Linares?? Linares wouldn’t last 3 rounds with that chin. Linares decent fighter but his chin is worse than Clifford Etienne

Lose to Spence and everyone expected it, Mikey doesn’t lose any ground in the rankings. Lose to Loma and he is embarrassed and slides in the rankings. Linares was #1 and lineal lightweight champ who Mikey Garcia moved up to 140 instead of fighting. Hadn’t lost a fight in eight years and was way ahead of DeMarco before losing off of a cut. And you’re saying their 135 resumes are equal?? Aside from Commey, teo’s fought club fighters and curtain jerkers. Linares was never lineal champion. He is not recognized as such by CBZ or TBRB and nobody presently recognizes Lomachenko as lineal champion. He's a unified and Ring champion, but he's not lineal. It was still a fantastic win for Lomachenko, no question about it, but people keep throwing the lineal claim out there and it simply isn't true. The lineal lightweight title has been vacant since Crawford moved up to 140 in 2015.

Ok, I understand that Linares was #1 at lightweight for a period of time, but his best wins are Crolla and Campbell. I don’t see how Crolla’s name holds any weight, but beating Campbell isn’t necessarily a big deal as well.... All you can do in boxing is fight the best available guys and thats exactly what Lomachenko has done. If Lomachenko had fought Gamboa just because he was a big name would it have made it any better? No. Lomachenko is only interested in fighting champions and fighting the best at his weight category. I dont get why people criticize that point so much. Maybe Lomachenko should have done it the hip way and demanded people fight at the weight he wants. Wearing the gloves he wants. Where he wants. Maybe he should make excuses to avoid fights he doesn't want because their could be adversity. Maybe he should jump around weights so he doesnt have to fight the best and make a name off of older bigger names. What do you people want?
