For me in terms of watching a fight live it would have to be Antonio Tarver knocking Roy Jones Jr. da hell out. It was like watching SuperMan getting Hulk smashed to bits. SMDH
My top two lows are Diego Corrales dying in his accident & a cat named Vinny Letizia dying in an accident. Diego was among my favorite boxers at the time. Vinny was a 21 year old Chicago prospect who I had seen fight live probably a half dozen times who was on a fast rise.
And there are countless other deaths in the ring or severe injuries I'd also count as lows. I don't get too low about L's although of those Mike Tyson losing was easily the one that fooked me up the most cuz it seemed so unlikely to me at the time. Nowadays I understand L's are gonna happen to most every fighter eventually so they never feel THAT bad anymore. It's not like they don't suck, but losing a piece of yourself or your life, which happens more than most any other sport, is a whole other level of low/pain than that bad mark on your record.
Nice Letizia name drop.
What could have been, right?
Life is fickle and fragile, and we must savor it, whenever I'm in too bad of a mood I have to remind myself to appreciate the positive things in life, and the beautiful. We may lose what we have tomorrow.
I had thousands both times on Hopkins to beat Jermain Taylor.
I missed out on a 6 figure payday when Jirov couldn’t get the job done against Messi.
I had Jirov a dog parlayed with Winky Wright a 3-1 dog who won. Carlos Hernandez a pick em against Steve Forbes Who won. Jirov was close 2-1 dog.
I had thousands on Hernandez to beat Forbes which covered and I doubled down on Jirov and Wright parlay and had Jirov and Messi in 3 team parlays.
Jirov lost but did manage to retire Messi as if that meant anything to
Me jajaja.
I was also robbed 6-1 when Oquendo got robbed against Chris Byrd.
Feather fisted Byrd should never be that big of a fave and I almost cashed in big on Vegas’s mistake.
Of course Vegas always wins, Byrd won a controversial decision.
Boxing is a dodgy game when betting and you go to the cards
A had 100 on Holyfield at 6-1 v valuev
Same in winky to beat Taylor
Had 10 on Marquez to win on points at 14-1 v pack man in their 3rd fight
Robbed on the lot and that’s a few off the top off my head
When Tyson Fury got away with fighting dirty and they had a senior citizen in Kenny Bayless trying to control the action between two in their prime giants in Wilder and Fury!
It was absolutely appalling that Bayless couldn’t do anything when he literally saw Wilder get hit behind the head which caused the first knockdown an his balance was compromised!
After that it was like watching a mugging in an alleyway, Fury was holding an hitting, leaning on the neck and back, and putting Wilder in chokeholds!
Bayless waited till the fight was practically done to finally take a point from Fury who just kept showing dirty fighting is best when against a dangerous opponent!
Sad to watch how a fight ended with so much dirty boxing, Bayless didn’t allow none of that when Floyd fought Maidana in the rematch ironically enough!

Shared this on another thread but Gary Mason taking a beating from Lennox Lewis. There's a moment where he screws up his face in pain and goes out swinging. That moment always stuck with me right from when I was a kid.
Other than that, I still find the start of the 12th round of Eubank v Watson 2 hard to watch. The end of the 11th too, but that's also such an amazing last 30 seconds. If it wasn't for the outcome, it would be replayed over and over.
Low moments is when some effing clown keeps mentioning someone's name every chance he gets,
supposedly putting on a brave facade, yet when offered the fight he suddenly wants
unbelievable amounts of money he doesn't deserve.
As if there's difference when an average guy on the street says he'll fight anyone for $1 million.
To make matters worse stupid fans defend such clown just because they don't like the guy he calls out.
Definitely worse moment in the sport for me.
You beg for the fight, let people know you're not afraid and can beat the guy.
Yet you're the first to roadblock it when offered?
It disgusts me to no end. Makes me puke for months.
Mike Tyson getting wrecked by Danny Williams. I’m not even one of those guys that think Tyson was one of the top few heavyweights of all time, but it was still a sad sight to see someone iconic like that getting annihilated by Danny Williams.
On the flipside to that it’s awful to see Danny Williams fighting now. That recent fight he had was very difficult to watch. Nobody should be giving him a license.
Same with Roy Jones and most of his is later fights when he was getting his lights put out
Being in the hospital during Jones Tarver 3. The nurse telling me Roy was gunshy and Tarver wasn't really squeezing the trigger. Made me upset that Jones bravely fought to an L.
Coming home from work and logging on to Boxingscene just to find out Chico had died on his motorcycle. I teared up instantly. My wife said she was sorry “my boxing friend” had died. Never forget that.
That's tough bro, thanks for sharing, and good to see you're still around.
Mayweather vs Pacquaio. I knew it wouldn't be a slobber knocker but my god that fight lacked A LOT of action. A fight we were waiting for 5 years to happen and then it went like that. One of the most clamored for fights ever....
That fight went exactly how I expected. I don’t know why anybody was expecting a dramatic fight.
Floyd’s style was a terrible style for Manny at any stages of their career. I always felt he would cruise to fairly comfortable uneventful victory.
I always felt stylistically it would never make for a great fight unless Floyd somehow abandoned his usual style, which was never going to happen in a fight that big.

When Mayweather was given the decision vs Castillo.
I felt really bad when Hugo Dianzo was robbed vs Paulie Ayala.
Felt bummed when Julio Gonzalez got killed.
The worst though, was when Corrales and Tony robbed Castillo.
