The guy is un-trainable. He is too old and spent too much time fighting bums that he never developed as a fighter. His dependence on his power was a severe detriment to learning to become a better boxer. And now it is too late and he will not recover from his embarrassing defeat by Fury.
You're usually wrong about most things.
But in this case you might have lucked into a good idea.

A broken clock is correct twice in a day.
If Wilder does decide to hire a new trainer, in your opinion which trainer would best be able to improve him as a fighter and as a man?
Other: Teddy Atlas.
I think Robert Garcia or Abel Sanchez. He doesn't need to change too much.
What Garcia did with Maidana should be the blueprintYou are right. I think that Robert Garcia or Abel Sanchez would be a perfect fit for him at this time.
It's because all of their fighters are known for two things; work rate and cardio conditioning. Which is something that Wilder is badly lacking.
He needs to throw more punches and in bunches, if he is going to stand any chance of defeating Tyson Fury. That way it would force Fury to back off of him.
I say Wilder would need to average throwing between 60-70 punches per round in order to win this fight.
I disagree with this completely. Those would be the best trainers for him. He’s almost 35 and you’re not going to reinvent the wheel with him. Offense is what’s lead to his success so just build off that.He needs to learn how to hit and not get hit. He needs a trainer to teach him some footwork and learn how to jab while throwing combination punches in bunches. He already knows how to hit/punch.
Mark Breland taught him that 12 years ago. At this point, he needs somehow who is going to help develop him into becoming a fundamentally sound, complete and well rounded fighter.

Teddy Atlas but he would be to hard on Wilder and you can’t have a personality like Wilder mixing with hard nosed Atlas so scratch that one ,Wilder just mentally wouldn’t handle it .
So I would say long time heavyweight trainer and very active Stacy Mckinley who knows heavyweight boxing inside out and is a great brain to pick . He’s also from the Kronk Style gym I believe ?

Imo nobody
He's 35 years old, I suspect he's past his physical prime, it's too late in the game, you can't take this man back to the drawing board.
Jay Deas best bet is to just train this guy into the best shape he possibly can and tell him to run at fury like a bezerker throwing bombs and hope he lands first.
Completely agree. All he can do is what he's been doing is whole career and hope for the best. His style can't be changed, adjusted, or improved. Any sign of trouble and he'll throw away whatever game plan he had and revert back to looking for a big right hand.
There's only two ways I see him beating Fury; going straight at him and landing that money shot within the first few rounds, or Fury has an off night.

Abel Sanchez, Freddie Roach and Robert Garcia are largely offensive oriented trainers. So they are ruled out. He needs someone to teach him how to box; Someone who is going to teach him how to jab, throw combinations punches in bunches and teach him some defense. Floyd Mayweather, Derrick James, Ronnie Shields or even Jonathan Banks; Wlad's old trainer all fit the bill.

I like Roach for him. Roach is a proven great trainer who has successfully trained so many good fighters for so long. He does very well training hard punchers.
Roach....
He is an expert at polishing talents of fighters that didn't start with him.
Agree with these two gentlemen.
Roach is also a specialist when it comes to fighters whose main defense is their offense :beerchug:
He actually is btw. He's just hiding in the closet. I dont know why its 2020 but in his country maybe they hate gays. Thats why he comes here
Makes sense
