I noticed that the fighter that went to the distance in recent fights Luke Cambell and Pedraza were tall rangy fighters that used a lot of movement. They all took punishment but that's what made the fight go the distance.
Lopez is only an inch taller and is not a rangy fighter. stays flat footed and looks to counter.
I think Lopez is going to be a sitting duck for Lomo's movement and angles. I don't see him going the distance. If he does, he's going to take a ton of punishment.
Yes, sir. I don't think Lopez will come to box. His only chance is to win by KO. I wonder if Lopez is practicing some southpaw stances/punches. Loma hates that style. A shrewd trainer will notice all those weaknesses.
Pedraza was mainly effective against Loma whenever he turned southpaw, but couldn't sustain it. Lopez will come in balls to the wall, win or lose.
What do you see that makes you think he struggles/hates southpaws?
He has over 400 amateur fights, vast majority at the highest level where a lot of fighters these days fight southpaw & has fought many southpaws in the WSB & as a pro (Gary Russell Jr, Luke Campbell, Guillermo Rigondeaux to name a few). Most of his training partners over the years have virtually all been southpaws.
I doubt anyone in history has seen or faced the amount of southpaws Lomachenko has encountered.

If only he had a shrewd trainer
In fairness to him Clottey despite barely throwing a punch visibly hurt Manny a fair few times. I feel that is why so many was disappointed in his performance because when he did land he was clearly hurting Manny.
But my point was I see it going similarly with a much faster, dynamic & explosive southpaw completely bamboozling the bigger, flat-footed counterpuncher with his angles & combinations putting him into a shell with Lopez doing very little merely looking to just try land one big shot.
I understand your point but do you think Lopez will just cover up almost the entire fight just like Clottey did?
You really believe that my G?

Lopez will dictate the tempo with aggression and not moving back in the first 3 rounds. He won't give Loma a space and the ability to control anything, or get into rhythm. Punch everywhere, focus on body. Get a little dirty if you can get away with it.
I see Loma broken down and KOed under 8 rounds.

Loma will get knocked down early but will rally to win by TKO in the 9th-10th or UD.
I think Loma will eventually wear Lopez out and get Lopez to be a little reckless and then Loma will capitalize.

That’s exactly I see it. What will upset me is that he will take the shoulder roll and by the end of the night critics will be downplaying the effectiveness of it. That’s how much he is going to get hit
How is it similar to Pac-Clottey when he has a punchers chance?

This.
Lopez is SCARY. But most likely Vasily survives the early threat and takes Lopez into waters much too deep.
I think its honestly pretty funny how some people actually think Lopez has enough boxing skill to win a few rounds.
7-5? Really?
People really think Lopez can win 5 rounds when much better boxers have tried before him and won considerably less? Come on now.
And im not even talk about power im just talking about a sheer skill and technical ability.
Poor Clottey said he had a turtles head hanging out during the fight, or something like that
You try fighting like that
Really? He was bursting on a Brad Pitt during that fight? That's mad.
Lopez has a good start, maybe clipping Loma a few times, but by round 5 or 6 I see Loma moving through the gears and handling Lopez for an 8 - 4 or a 7 - 5 win. Something like that.
I think its Manny Pacquaio vs Joshua Clottey all over again.
Someone seriously needs to even attempt to explain to me how this is supposedly a 50/50. This kid has a punchers chance at best

The most likely scenario I am seeing is that Loma starts slow, works out Lopez over the first two rounds, then starts to dominate. He hits the accelerator in the second half of the fight.
Lopez tries to be the aggressor and the bully to begin with, but Loma plays him like a matador plays with a bull. Lopez finds that his strategy isn't working, and tries to adapt. He actually has some boxing skills, so he tries to box Loma - but Loma is on another level.
Lopez swaps between trying to box, trying to slug and trying to bully, with none of it working. He gets frustrated, but manages to keep his composure for at least most of the fight, perhaps all of it. He resigns himself to losing each round, and looks for the opportunity to land a KO punch. It doesn't come.
He rallies once or twice, perhaps around round 8 he has his best round.
Loma wins in a basic shutout. 10 rounds to 2. Some people will think Lopez could have edged rounds 3 or 4 but the judges don't see it that way.
Ha, that's quite precise chief... and plausible.:banana:
Here's scenario 17a: Lopez gets more and more frustrated as the fight goes on. He's trying to copy Salido, with some rough housing, stepping on Loma's foot, hitting after the bell, holding, and eventually starts the low blows. He gets a warning, then point deduction, and eventually DQ'd in round 10 or 11.
He's visually upset with the outcome. Sr. is yelling.
Then Lomachenko does a flip and the cha-cha...
Peace.
If Teo is relying on power, someone should tell him a competent boxer can negate power. Does he have a back up plan should Loma laugh at his power ?
I'm rooting for the kid but I think experience takes it.
