Who wins, bros?
Briedis wins by slaughter and quick KO. Unlike Kovalev he will actually try to win. Canelo couldn't even hurt 160 pound Jacobs so how is he going to hurt a 200 pound world champ? Canelo would also be tasting the power of 200 pound champion who often KOs top 200 pound opponents. Little Canelo would be easy work.
Kova is worlds better than Briedis.
Not a tough fight to predict at all.
Damn, I'm sorry for making fun of you earlier. I didn't know you were actually ******ed.
One thing about Breidis is that, if Canelo does the upper body movement, he's the type of dirty fighter that would literally lock Canelo in place with his one arm and beats him with the other. That is why, when there were some talks about Andre Ward fighting Meiris Breidis, he better not use those dirty tactics, because Breidis is FAR MORE lethal on the dirty tactic than Ward, I mean, he knocked Glowacki out with an elbow lol.
This is the only way Canelo could win if Briedis got himself disqualified which tbf can't be ruled out, the guys an absolute savage :D
That last few post prove my point about every euro fighter here being ridiculously overrated lol
Same ****t different toilet.
Hows the clear #1 CW in the world the one being overrated? Maybe you're underrating him or overrating Canelo and his chances. Canelo who has only fought 25 full lbs south the once and that vs a heavily faded fighter at that.
There are weight divisions for a reason.
A 25lb jump is monsterous and very few fighters in history have done it and I'm not sure any have that were as maxed out as Canelo is.
Canelo couldn't even beat Jacobs or GGG easily or exactly convincingly for that matter. What I mean is he didn't really show he was above and beyond them. He barely edged them at best. Now he's going to easily beat Briedis?
Briedis ain't no chinny, shopwork Kovalev who was never the same after Ward and had developed a drink problem.
Ain't no MW/SMW/LHW for that matter beating him and the only CW capable is arguably the best CW in history & now at HW. Even then it was neck & neck.
Canelo is a great, skilled fighter but he's way too small and has 7 good rounds in him at best and that's without the extra weight and fighting a much bigger, harder hitting, physical fighter than he's ever encountered and that likely includes in the gym also.
Briedis is deceptively skilled & one of the most complete fighters in the world imho with no real weakness. He does everything to a very high standard.
He can fight at all ranges and adjusts really well. He can pressure, box off the backfoot. He digs the body well and is very good counterpuncher who can fight the full 12 rounds.
Kovalev even at his peak was just a guy with a good one-two and decent feet (he's not anywhere near as dynamic as he was a few years back) who is only really effective if you stay on the end of his jab. He never, even at his peak had a very good chin and recuperative abilities & his stamina is awful.
Kovalev got KTFO by Eleider Alvarez who fights quite a lot like Briedis only he's half his size, not anywhere near as skilled multi-dimensional and hits like a girl in comparison. If Kovalev fought Briedis he'd get slept very abruptly.
The Kovalev win was a bit impressive.
But mind you, Kov is quite chinny and rans out of gas even at his prime. Of course he wasnt in his prime when Canelo fought him.
Now Breidis while as tall as Kov isnt chinny, is definitely stronger than Kov having KOed with one punch a real HW (Charr), and has really decent boxing skills.
The question is how much low in eight will Canelo allow Breidis to weigh inside the ring.
Prediction. Canelo gets dropped early, and the ref gives him a slow count, and gives him a full minute to recover. It's a decently close fight despite the huge size difference, but Canelo wins decidedly because Adelaide Byrd and Dr. Lou Moret score it 120-108 despite the knockdown. The only judge that is not incompetent or corrupt scores the fight 115-115.
