Doesn't matter who wins or who loses the lawsuit.

Page 24, point #5 of the Prayer for Relief means Canelo will never be on DAZN again (or fight for GBP again) unless someone brings in a rainmaker quickly to set things right.
But, it's deeper than that.
I think DAZN's plan to grab US market share via boxing just died with this lawsuit.
The immediate damage is clear. How is there going to continue to be GoldenBoy cards on DAZN with this lawsuit looming? The relationship between DAZN and GBP was heavily dependent on Canelo and that's over with.
I'd be shocked if a cancelation (they'll say postponement) of every and any planned GBP card on DAZN DID NOT happen. Or, with little to nothing officially announced, they'll simply keep silent. Say goodbye to Ryan Garcia vs Luke Campbell. No way DAZN pays GBP while this is happening.
But, there's more.
What do you do if you're Tyson Fury? You've got Wilder to beat again then AJ waiting. Except, when you get past Deontay again you're going to have Eddie Hearn trying to get you to do the fight on DAZN. This, when you are signed to ESPN on one side of the Atlantic and BTSport on the other side. What the hell do you need with DAZN?
AJ would agree. Yes, he is signed to Matchroom, but the only broadcaster that has AJ's rights is SkySports. He doesn't need DAZN either, especially for this fight. The only way DAZN becomes a player is if they have minimum 60 million for AJ and Tyson to split and given what just happened to Canelo, I would say AJ could be forgiven for doubting they would or could pay it.
What if you're Deontay Wilder and you somehow turn the tables on Fury? Now it's you looking at AJ, and you're hearing Hearn go on about the showdown between the Bronze Bomber and Femi on DAZN. Except again, this is the same outfit with the shady offer of 100 million that would have blown up after one fight and is in court with Canelo, who they couldn't pay. Do you let bygones be bygones and listen to DAZN this time?
This is going to have a domino effect on A LOT of boxers. It's a bad look and the best thing DAZN could do is mend fences with Canelo and GBP as quickly as possible, even if it's just short term.
Because if they don't, we're gonna see more than just Canelo walk.
They're going to watch any chance they may have had to be a player in the US boxing market get gaveled away.
Canelo was the straw that stirred the drink for GBP when it came to DAZN.
Now, both DAZN and GBP have to hope what they have left in star power (Ryan Garcia, Virgil Ortiz) is enough to keep those Golden Boy DAZN cards viable.
I don't think they are enough. GBP has a decent stable of guys, but no star.
And it's not going to get better either.
The only ppv worthy guy DAZN has left that is likely to still fight on DAZN next year is Golovkin, and he's fighting crappy opponents right now.
Don't even think about AJ saving DAZN because, if it's Fury after Pulev, those fights are going to be straight ppv.
DAZN is in horrible position right now.
that other poster had you pegged. talking about who got what they wanted and they “worked things out” yet hadn’t read a damn thing lmao
You dribbling now. So no 280m?
Oh wait Canelo is getting paid his 280ms? :boxing:

Maybe you forgot that we are in a pandemic, DAZN cannot offer to pay him. Hence why they too are glad to get rid. Canelo is free and if he gets 35m from his next fights then he would be as happy as anyone.
If you think throwing 35m at Canelo when they have a pandemic is great business sense then I feel sorry for you. Hence why I said DAZN themselves would be glad.
The only loser here is GBP.
yea you definitely didn’t read any of the court docs.
You two were so wrong because you didn't read the lawsuit like Koolkc instructed you to.
You two were spot on because you read the lawsuit.
I was getting word of the lawsuit before he filed it.
I am surprised it was resolved so quickly.
Here we go, 😂
look im trying to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you have some common sense. this wasnt a case of being worked out. this was canelo forcing their hand to gain his freedom. the only person who got what they wanted was canelo.

and that dummy had the nerve to say some people aren’t knowledgeable lol.
gbp and dazn are in hell right now. dazn usa is over. they changed their twitter name from daznusa to daznboxing and they no longer use the daznusa logo on anything anymore.
Gbp is having their dazn contract reconstructed which means they wont be getting anywhere near the money they were before. but i guess that’s better than canelo bankrupting them with oscar taking personal liability for his contract.
Losing their main revenue generator and getting much less per fight willl cripple Golden Boy going forward because they'll no longer have the money to pay for opponents for their up and coming stars like Vergil Ortiz. He's high risk low reward without a belt. I can't believe Oscar sold Canelo rights away to DAZN while signing a completely different contract with Canelo. How long did he think he could hide that? What was he thinking?

Folks that think Golden Boy just gonna let Canelo out of his contract don’t know how the boxing business works. Go talk to Mikey Garcia or Andre Ward how things went for them when they tried to break their contract with their promoters. I mean just recently David Benavidez tried to break free from Sampson Promotions to join Top Rank but ****z when down hill when Sampson threaten legal action against Top Rank and Benavidez, lol
Yeah some people aren’t that knowledgeable with this *****. Canelo himself doesn’t know what he signed with DAZN through his promoters. By the time reality hits he might have to sit down with DAZN/GBP and work out his differences.
You two were so wrong because you didn't read the lawsuit like Koolkc instructed you to.
i think he gets one of his wishes, not both...and i think that’s his plan.
Realistically, you're probably correct.
He gets out from under GBP and DAZN and, if there is any money, it will not be $280 million unless the judge is Canelo's distant cousin.
But, I agree with those saying Saul will not be out another year. Hell, I think he fights in the next 3 to 5 months.
You two were spot on because you read the lawsuit.

Yes I do. DAZN is freezing Golden Boy out. It's about to get nasty. You'll probably see Canelo in court before you see him in the ring
I am surprised it was resolved so quickly.
Like already established, it’s more GBP than DAZN. Canelo is a free man, can go it alone and work with whoever he wants now. His career is at that point where he doesn’t need a promoter, DAZN doesn’t need to pay him 35m or 280m that he wanted..... GBP are probably the only one who might be losing out directly now, but they are still staying with DAZN and working with what they have..... So am not sure what gets you up

yes im sure gbp and dazn are happy to be free of canelo. only one of three wanted freedom so much he filed suit against the other two to get it.

And what did he do? Sit down and worked it out. He wanted what? All the money he was promised... did he get it? Nope... they all freed themselves :boxing: so we that are knowledgeable are right again.

looking back at some of these posts. hilarious

Thank you for that expert analysis.
Bet you're feeling pretty special right about now, huh?

How can I take this thing seriously when the lawyers
who wrote the complaint can't even spell correctly?
Promotor, instead of promoter; principle, instead of principal, oh man...
Who is gonna be left ruined here is GBP, from what's been leaking out the contract was worded the way it was because GBP gave assurances to DAZN that Canelo-GGG 3 will happen and that's why they ultimately signed him. DAZN's error is not making that immediate. Canelo is trying to hit 2 birds with one stone in this, get rid of his promoter hence making his obligations with DAZN void.
Realistically, you're probably correct.

i think so too. and i dont think its a coincidence there is a purse bid for canelo-yildirim tomorrow 👀
