He is still overall and an all around better fighter than Danny Garcia though. That's a fact that will never change. I expect him to mix up his attack on Garcia. I don't expect him to go in there and be overly aggressive like he was in the Porter fight. I expect a heavy diet of body shots and jabs from Spence.
Danny's going to knock his dick in the dirt. No way a boxer comes out of an accident like that the same.
Spence is dumb enough to not realize the magnitude and his chin should be okay
Duran got the treatment from Hearns, recovered, and went on to fight some big punchers like Hagler and Barkley. I would be more concerned about ring rust and the fact that his timing could be off for the first few rounds, which would give Danny the advantage. Sort of what happened to Thurman with Manny. Spence will beat Danny by decision.
Could it affect his punch resistance? Of course it can, but there's only one way to know. He's still 11 weeks out from the fight so he probably hasn't done any sparring yet. But even then, different ball game with 8 oz gloves with no headgear. That's one of the biggest factors that makes the Garcia fight so interesting.
Spence has always had a good chin, but he was knocked out cold and woke up in hospital. Could this affect his punch resistance?
I doubt it would effect his punch resistance but then again we won’t truly know until we see him back in the ring.
I’m very interested to see how he looks vs DSG.
Sorry. I meant to say there is NO evidence that being knocked out in a car crash lowers a boxer's punch resistance.
We do have evidence though. Naseem Hamed was the car wreck for Augie Sanchez and Sanchez left the ring on a stretcher. 16 months later he stepped in against John Michael Johnson. And, well, this happened:

No it would not. There is evidence that being knocked out a car crash lowers a boxer's punch resistance. That is just some fans wild imagination and wishful thinking because they want Spence to lose. He took plenty off time off and will be better than ever and give Garcia a beating in my opinion.
I can't think of a better way to test that side of his face than putting him in against Garcia's left hook - only thing is that Garcia's volume is sputtering so maybe some risk is mitigated in that regard. But Danny will land a couple for sure, so if Spence's fast isn't broken in this fight then he'll probably be OK.
As far as being out cold, really no way to know......only thing we can gauge is does it look like he is the same psychologically, is he still taking the same risks and be as aggressive like he was before....he wasn't KOed in the ring, he didn't pay for any mistake he made in the ring, I can see a situation where his boxing ego hasn't been affected at all.
I bet there are plenty of people who go through crazy stuff like that and come out feeling even more invincible.
Spence Jr Spars Big and with Big Punchers like Burley Brooks in his Gym as well as work with Jermell Charlo so I'm sure his Punch Resistance will be full tested and challenged long before jumps in with Garcia
I think if you're Spence Jr, maybe you comeback and Box more like he did Mikey Garcia to try and take less Punishment after a Accident like that. Keep Danny at the end of that Jab, Spence Jr also has a excellent and tight High Guard that he uses very well.
If he wasn't Ready or "Wasn't The Same" they would not be rushing back and would instead be trying to buy him more time. If Spence says he is good and Derrick James is saying he is good and looks better than ever then that is all we can go by until proven otherwise
But he got knocked out cold.So did Manny Pacquiao but he went on to do pretty good since! We'll just have to see psychologically and physically if Spence was affected greatly.
It shouldn't. I mean he doesn't suffer any fractures or broken bones in the accident; Just a few broken teeth, abrasions and lacerations. He is very blessed to still be alive.
