Why do you believe that McGregor did a better job of frustrating Mayweather than Pacquiao did. McGregor won 3 rounds (3/9, 33%), same as Pacquiao (3/12, 25%).
Punches Landed:
McGregor: 111
Pacquiao: 81 (in 12 rounds)
No one wants to admit that McGregor had Mayweather flustered early in that fight by hitting him from all different angles. At the same time, Mayweather completely controlled the Pacquaio fight. There was never any doubt that Mayweather would lose the fight.
Combination of styles and Floyds choice to fight aggressively
Connor is a southpaw, taller than floyd/Manny and just as importantly fights tall (Unlike ODH for example). Hes fights upright which allows him to see incoming punches easier (ie his uppercut countering Floyds straight right) and maximizes his reach. IMO for these reasons, it forced Floyd to push forward to land his punches. If you've boxed yourself, then you'd know its a nightmare trying to outbox a tall southpaw who utizilses his reach.
But could Floyd have outboxed him? Probably, but he was falling short in the early rounds with his punches. Floyd felt Connors power early and walked him down because it was the best option, the same way he did against Zab Judah.
Think about it, how many tall, tricky southpaws has FM actually fought in his career? There are stylistic matchups you should avoid, and a tall southpaw is one of them. Just my 2 cents
It amazes me how Floyd is able to trick PPV buyers that he wasn’t carrying McGregor for fun until he pressed the gas... Floyd laughing at the stool progressively and hitting harder as the rounds go should tell enough...
If Floyd pressed the gas, why couldn't he get a knockout vs a gassed fighter? McGregor's tank was on negative and Mayweather still couldn't get a KO.
How is being carried and then stopped in your boxing debut better than losing a decision?
It isn't.
Just goes to show you the thought process, and agenda driven arguments so many "fans" on here have and make.

Exactly this.
Are you kidding me lol, when have you ever seen Mayweather hold his hands up and walk down a guy that was 25lbs bigger than him.
When have you seen that style of boxing from Floyd, you would think a 20yr history of being one of the best defensive fighters in history just vanished to fit your narrative.
Connors power was nothing in boxing, Floyd just made him work kept the pressure on and stopped him in the round he bet on himself to stop him.
Floyd wore a mask to the ring because he just pulled a heist and laughed his ass off all the way to the bank.
Hmmm.
I just think its so funny how so many of you get so butt hurt when people, like myself, aren't even talking down on Floyd.
Have I hurt your feelings? Please point on this doll where I hurt your feelings.
I dont doubt Mcgregor had any power in a boxing ring but the fact is neither did Mayweather.
Could Mayweather have finished the fight in as little as 3 rounds as people are suggesting? no ****ing chance.
Why couldn't he? Because Mayweather didn't have the power to do so. Mayweather made Conner work by forcing him to fire explosivr combinations which tired him.
I love how you say Mayweather pulled off the biggedt heist, he did, but he also pulled another one like how hes played you guys his whole career. Everyone with a brain knew McGregor didn't stand a chance but Floyd finishing the fight before McGregor gassed? It was never an option.
But here you are wanting to argue that Floyd had the power to stop a guy 25lbs bigger than him? Please.
Floyd couldnt even stop guys his size. Talk about people who don't know boxing. Anyone with a brain knows McGregor is dangerous when he's still fresh. That's why when you saw McGregor vs Khabib, Khabib wrestled Connor to take pop off his punches and soon was willing to box.
But maybe I'm wrong. So many of you boxing "fans " pretend you know your sport but can't even comprehend things like MMA. But who am I to judge you.
Because u don’t know boxing. Like I said, change your handle to R-L-Hand Jackoff!
Floyd used a high guard while faking crosses and jabs. Lol. That’s obvious trolling. Floyd could’ve easily stood his distance and wrecked his body to then finishing him with traditional sneak attacks. Floyd did none of that and clowned walked him down!
Says the guy whos hiding in the closet but we all know suck Canelo nuts right? Lololo
Floyd doesn't have the power. Even when McGregor was gassed he still couldn't knock him out. But nah mayne, pillow fist Floyd gonna knock people out.
Too ****ing funny. Got to make Floyd look good so ya boi Ginger looks good to eh?
How low do you got to stoop? Anything for your boi right? Lmfao. Get on your knees and suck them Floyd nuts so Canelo can look good too lmfaooooooo
Floyd took Manny seriously and boxed carefully.
Floyd toyed around with McGregor because McGregor was not a threat. The fact that Floyd walked forward with his chin up and his hands down most of the fight should tell you he wasn't taking the fight seriously in the least. He could've stopped McGregor in the first round just by peppering him if he wanted. Could've been 75 punches to zero by the end of the first.
That's an easy question to answer. It's because Money May chose to carry him. That's why he felt no need or sense of urgency to seriously train for that fight.
He knew that he was challenging an over matched and limited opponent; Who presented no real threat to him because he didn't have any professional boxing experience. Also, he wanted an exciting fight for the fans.
He knew the pressure was on him to deliver and not become his typical safety first self. He took risks and chances that he normally wouldn't do against any real skilled professional competition with experience.

I dont get why people claim Mayweather carried McGregor. Mayweather was cautious the first couple rounds and let McGregor throw his shots to gas him out. That's not carrying someone, that's being smart.
What he did wasn't rocket science. Anyone who has ever watched McGregor fight knew that hes explosive but has a small gas tank.
Trading early would have been stupid. Why would anyone ever trade with a bigger guy in close range?
And as far as bulldozing McGregor? Please. Mayweather couldn't knock out a small child even if he wanted to at that point in his career.

McGregor actually tried
manny was performing to not get knocked out
- -Is that with or without U dentures.
JoyBoy ran from Manny!
Why U no watch fight?

Too toopid?
Why McG duck Manny?
And everyone else?
Theres a lot of cope when it comes to that fight because it went far longer and was far more competitive than most boxing fans expected or hoped. I dont think Floyd "carried" him because I doubt his ego would allow it, I think he was more just being cautious earlier on while he gauged what Conor was capable of and let him punch himself out. All this "Floyd could have ended the fight whenever he wanted" stuff is funny because even after Floyd started turning up the volume it took him 5-6 rounds before he got the stoppage, and it was the typical ref waving off the fight while a guy is on the ropes boxing stoppage too rather than him actually KO'ing Conor.
Mayweather said it himself, he would never walk Pac down like he did Conor, if Floyd fought Pacquiao the way he fought Conor he would likely get knocked silly, Floyd had no respect for Conors boxing and even walked with his hands down too.
Spot on.
And truth be told, Mayweather could have ended McGregor in any round he wanted, including the first.
Floyd hit manny hard in round 1 with a straight right and earned his respect
Floyd didnt want conors respect he tricked him so he would gas easier
Bit like ali and the rope a dope against foreman
Also floyd didnt even train for conor
And laughed in his face
Conor did not out perform manny at all
Because Mayweather carried him.
Imagine Mayweather blasted him in 1 round....;
McGregor's stock goes down like a lead balloon
The UFC looks like a total joke that their number one superstar gets KO'd within minutes
Showtime would be P*SSED off beyond belief that any future collaboration with the UFC has gone out of the window
Any PPV platform looks like a rip-off merchant, the fans feel cheated and it takes years to recover before customers pay that sort of money again
No-one ever wants to see Mayweather fight again because it looks like a total con-job on the fans
