Anybody willing to share a time when your fight prediction was way off?
I'll start with Roy Jones Jr. vs Jeff Lacy. I thought that Lacy would be too much for a then 40-year old Jones but Roy put on a clinic and embarrassed him.
Anybody else got one?
I stupidly picked Joe Louis to beat Schmeling in the first fight. Lost a lot of money on that fight lol
Lol I had my money on Goliath but David pulled off the upset
J-Rock-Rosario was definitely surprising and honestly I think Williams fought the wrong fight to impress his home crowd.
Red - Accurate assessment. I saw it the same way.
I never thought Fury would be anything but a fringe contender. When he was younger he looked like trash. When I saw him in the second fight with Chisora, I saw a side of him I hadn’t seen. Chisora might not be a great fighter but he’s pretty good, Fury handled him casually.
More bad picks:
-I thought my hometown guy and fellow Mclain High School alum Alan Green would have too much power for Andre Ward. Figured he'd catch Ward sooner or later.
-I thought Steve Cunningham would walk through Yoan Pablo Hernandez. I thought he was unbeatable at the time. Oops.
-I was positive Ryan Rhodes would beat Canelo after Canelo's performance against Hatton
-I was expecting Peter Quillin to ragdoll shop-worn Andy Lee.
thats just silliness lol. green couldnt catch ward cause he was too busy looking at his own shoes

And that would have been a reasonable pick if Sergio had two good knees. Cotto wasn't really a middleweight and Martinez had been the top guy at 160 for awhile. Unfortunately he got his super fight a little too late
Yeah I was a big fan of Martinez and wanted to see him fight G, but about one round into the Cotto fight I saw just how shot he was and was glad he didn’t fight G.
I remember a trip to Mexico back when Junior and Canelo were both coming up. Every local I talked boxing with said they were all about Chavez JR. My Dad had the same experience.
Back in 2011 my girl and I went over into Mexico for the day and both the restaurant we ate at had portraits of Chavez Jr hanging up in them. The hype was real!
I get it wrong all the goddamn time. Some relatively recent examples: I thought Parker would thoroughly beat Whyte, I thought Thurman would win easily against Pacquiao and I thought that Kovalev would batter Canelo.
I picked Martinez to beat cotto smh
