I'm not a big fan of whyte by any means but let me give you 3 reasons why he deserves respect;
1. Never made any excuse for his loss
He wore quite a heavy attire for his ring walk. Didn't use it as a excuse that it effected his legs. He was beating povetkin thoroughly dropping him twice until he got caught with a perfect punch. Didn't say it was a punch from the Gods. All in all he gave povetkin his credit and said he will handle business in the rematch
2. Never bragged about his brutal knockouts or skills
He has had some highlight koty knockouts in his career of chisora, browne...doesnt talk about how me makes people 'seize' like wilder or constantly bring them up like AJ does klitshcko...Beat some good fighters like parker, rivas helenius and has a solid resume
3. Risked his mandatory position by fighting tough fighters
This is self explanatory. Could have sat on his rankings as he was due for a shot anyway but chose to risk his position.
At the end of the day i believe whyte knows he is inferior to Fury, wilder and Aj but wanted the shot he deserved and worked hard for. Guys like whyte keep boxing entertaining.
I had it 2-1 Pov after three, and he was visibly slow and shop worn. He looked like a shell of the guy who fought AJ even.
So no, Whyte doesn’t get credit for thinking the cherry was ripe for the picking. Especially with all the **** he talks, sharing DM’s and telling sparring stories. **** him.

Yes, Whyte & Chisora are similar type of fighters 'Of course they are in the sport for business reasons, but I also think they just really enjoy fighting innately' A lot of fighters say that they enjoy the game, but most just want to earn some money and get out.
Whyte has probably burnt himself out, there was no real need to make the Povetkin fight etc

- -Ignoring that he's a two bit street thug in real life, deserves credit for becoming a top KO highlight for our amusement.

The first 3 rounds were quite close but you could see Povetkin was shot to ****.
Round 4 Whyte lands a good shots and rocks Povetkin. He gets up, Whyte lands another, he get back up.
Round 5 Povetkin lands a sickening shot, Whyte doesn't get back up. Why does Whyte come out with more credit? Seems crazy to me.
We should be saluting a 41 year olds ability to take 2 big shots, get up and ice a man.
Povetkin gets his credit. Povetkin has always been a great fighter
Well said. Both of you.

Yeah...UH
No Sympathy is coming for Dillian Whyte, sure I respect him as a Boxer who gets in that ring and basically puts his life on the line. However, you wants respects not only do you have to earn up but you have to be willing to give it as well and over the last Few Months he was disrespectfully to every other Heavyweight and talked trash about everybody so yeah he is not going to get much sympathy or "Respect" in return after he got embarrassed by a "Old Man"
So yeah, Dillian Whyte Fans and British Commentators now want to try and talk about "Respect" and all this Garbage...F^CK OFF! He is going to have to deal with exactly what Wilder and AJ had to deal with when they got stopped
