"PBC is bleeding money...theyre losing money for investors...theyll never get another TV deal...theyll be out of business next year...al haymon sucks and never makes good fights"
"DAZN is the greatest man....its so affordable for my broke ass...eddie hearn is going to take over america....i just love the model because im poor...and oh yeah of course its a totally sustainable model dont worry...and oh yeah...id bet my life theyre getting NFL rights...so theyre about to be a giant"
there was actually one of you lames who really said "id bet my life(maybe it was life but something) theyll be getting the NFL rights...just watch..i know what im talking about"...wish i could remember who it was...but theres so many of you dumb, pbc hating, fgts that its hard to keep track
to be honest...i was never for the downfall of DAZN...i subscribed for 6-7 months....but some of you may be looking at eating a huge pile of **** all because you hate anything affiliated with black people/floyd/al haymon...the worst part is none of you are man enough to admit it
of course...at the heart of it thats what we all tune in for....at least real boxing fans.....but wed be naive to ignore the fact that these guys are in competition with each other and are going to do things to try to stall the other guys...its a business to these guys...the fighters and the promoters....
good fights get shelved or delayed because of these guys and their interests
if one of DAZN, the pbc or top rank were to go down it would likely help us get a step closer to fights getting made more easily
im not rooting for any of them to go under...but it certainly looks like DAZN might be in some trouble
I get what you're saying and I guess the market will dictate what happens.
I just wanna see good fights, regardless of network or promotional affiliation. Bob Arum, Al Haymon, Eddie Hearn, doesn't make a difference to me because I tune in to see the people in the ring, not the people sitting in the front row.

I'll tell the truth these delusional racist fanboys won't like to hear: DAZN IS TRASH, AND IT WAS DOOMED FROM THE START. Honestly once DAZN goes away it will be better for boxing, one less ****ing promoter to deal with. Let's hope that Top Rank can be next, how can y'all see the downfall of HBO Boxing and still give Top Rank a pass is mind boggling. Y'all really hate black men who are their own bosses that much?!
It certainly doesnt look good at the moment. I am more invested about the success DAZN has with boxing personally, because I live in Germany and they are close to the sole provider of good boxing content (DAZN germany also purchases streaming rights for bigger PBC cards).
And I was really hopeful that DAZN would be able to make boxing more global. They started it with cards from Italy. It would have been awesome if they had been able to do this in multiple countries so that they could build more interest and a solid boxing structure in those countries and
i hear you man...and im not rooting for their downfall....hope the rumormill isnt true....but to be honest i think they were in some trouble before the pandemic and there things pointing to that.....i think them trying to make fights with different promoters having their own interests at heart doesnt help
lol..people say pbc was overpaying...then theyll turn around and say that the pbc guys dont get side money and laugh at their "paltry" listed purses also....this guys speak out of both sides of their mouths all the time about pbc fighters "they make less than crawford"...."they are overpaid"....
of course you have to pay to get fights when youre a startup....roc nation had to do it years ago when they tried to make a mark...all understandable.....but they paid over and then some....
thats great that they want/wanted to expand more globablly...but every day you hear some drama about them and canelo and coming up with money and his opponent selection.....theres no buzz with andrade....wouldnt be much of one without the ruiz upset for AJ....
it wont be long before guys like ryan garcia and haney are seeing what others are getting for money at other shops and start demanding more...weve already seen ryan garcia talk money and complain....
i never wished for their downfall(and maybe some of us are being premature...maybe they will survive and thrive) but i certainly am not going to feel bad for them especially with them letting hearn run rampant and run his mouth telling lies to everyone

Showtime is not free doe. You have to sign up for subscription.
It was around $16/mo = $192/year at that time.
So you don't remember Thurman lining up bums the likes of
Diaz, Zaveck, Chaves, Karass, Bundu, Collazo, etc. before
taking his first step up fight. I see.
Yeah, sounds good today, they're finally made,
but the history is easily forgotten by these fans of PBC.
showtime also offers other programming that can appeal to the family/women
billions is one of the best/most underrated shows on tv....shameless had been widly popular...they offer good docs/movies and other programming........thats what made hbo such a powerhouse when you combined the big shows/movie with boxing...but someone messed it up combined with boxing general decline in popularity in the US....hbo had such wildly popular shows that had huge budgets it wasnt worth it to them to stay in boxing
so yeah about thurman....you listed all of those weak fights he was in.....yet despite being a year younger than bud crawford he has 3 guys on his resume all better than buds best win to date.....so what are you on about their chap?!?!
Do you remember Thurman be Garcia on network tv. Thurman vs Porter on network tv.
Dazn has had 1 PPv level fight in Canelo for Jacobs.
They split the sport 3 ways. As soon as Dazn is gone the better for the sport.

I am not certain, because I dont really follow the boxing business aspect. They had to pay a premium to get those fights. It sucked because everyone started to demand ridiculous purses as a result. But It was needed to convince fighters to fight on a new platform which hasnt establish itself yet.
People were also saying that PBC was overpaying fighters, but that was also calculated in order to sign the best fighters (and put competitors out of business).
I still base my opinion on DAZN trying to expand big time right before the virus hit. They wouldnt have done that if the numbers didnt match it at all.

how are you certain? theyve been overpaying just about everyone!
they paid jacobs 13 mil as an opponent...they paid chenko way more money than hes worth as an opponent...look at what they paid for garcia/vargas........theyve been overpaying basically everyone! theyre overpaying golovkin...even canelo...and they still cant get andrade a decent fight....wheres golovkin/canelo 3?
why are the pbc willing to do charlo ppvs..and tank davis ppvs.....but DAZN is on life support....why are we getting lopez/loma but DAZN seems to be dying
the statements i project are addressing that loud "minority" that is more like a majority...even some who claim to not be a part of that "minority" are they just cant admit it.....so maybe you arent...thats cool....its all good...im not worried about whether or not you are part of it or arent.....but that minority makes up a large part of the population here...
maybe if DAZN had put away a few bucks they could be putting on good fights..instead they went hard with their budget....trying to come in like some tour de force and likely burnt themselves out a bit.....make no mistake...theyd be in trouble without a pandemic and many thought it could happen way before this started

DAZN was not doing well- at least in the US- before the pandemic.
Their subscription rate was trash here and their business model needed large influxes of cash while they carved out a market share.
The problem is that even before the pandemic, getting subscribers was going to be difficult since DAZN didn't have exclusive rights to the major sports popular with US fans. And since boxing is a niche sport in the US, it was (and is) a bad idea to hitch your hopes of getting subscribers mainly off such a sport.
As long as DAZN keeps getting cash infusions, it will survive. But, right now, it's model is failing big time.
Who is we? There are certainly some dazn fanboys, as well as pbc fanboys, but those are a loud minority.
I am not one of them. Dont know why you project those statements ("PBC goes out of business, never make good fights") to everyone who doesnt agree with you.
Objectively, DAZN would not be close to in this position right now if it wasnt for the pandemic. And I dont have to be a DAZN fanboy or a PBC-hater to come to that conclusion.

now its "not being fair" because of the corona virus..lol....ahhhh....
but if DAZN was surviving amidst it and the pbc was in shambles and possibly on the verge of shutting down wed look the other way or come up with some excuse wouldnt we? of course we would!
ahhh the ole crumbling, about to fail, pbc has certain luxuries that DAZN doesnt? ahhh...how convenient....didnt stop you from predicting its downfall before a pandemic though huh?

PBC is the root of all what made many fans shied away from the sport.
Remember Garcia vs Salka? LSC vs sparring partners, Lara fighting cans and a host of crap essentially lining up bums after bums for Haymon's fighters?
I figured this guy is just happy to showcase fights.
That's how it all started.
Then when the funds were depleted, inactivity began to crept in.
Fighters fighting once a year, even more.
Even now most of them are rarely seen in the ring.
You can count many of them without fights scheduled.
You'd wonder why Haymon won't just let them go and leave the sport.
It's the reason why DAZN boxing existed in the first place.
Do you remember Thurman be Garcia on network tv. Thurman vs Porter on network tv.

Don't know if Luis Ortiz is retired, but I still want to see him face the likes of Martin, Ruiz, Kownacki, Joyce or even Arreola. Or how about Martin vs Ruiz, Kownacki vs Ruiz, etc.? Seems when they sign up with PBC they become showcase fighters first, line up cans.
Martin and Kownacki had their showcases in their last fights.
Kownacki's fight turned into a disastrous upset leaving the Polish
into limbo, not knowing whether to retire or start from scratch.
I dont think you are really fair about it.
The corona virus is what is called a black swan, an extreme rare and unpredictable event.

Im not someone who is deep into the business aspect of boxing, so I might be wrong. But I had the impression that DAZN did fairly well before the Coronavirus hit.
They had good fights, a decent stable, management was satisfied with the growth numbers and they were about to expand into a a lot of new territories (which is also a sign that they had confidence in their growth).
But Coronavirus came along. A subscription based model that depends on live sport events is unfortunately one of the worst model you could have during a pandemic.
They couldnt offer anything and therefore cant retain their subscribers, but the more difficult part now is to get those subscribers back while not being able to offer big fights yet.
they had canelo in fights that everyone was basically ripping...i guess if we discount the jacobs fight...they still hadnt gotten canelo/golovkin 3....andrade vs bums...farmer who they were pushing got beat...they got insanely lucky that AJ/ruiz 1 ended the way it did because it build alot of interest in the rematch which sucked...but no one was very into the first fight...they got sorta lucky......they might have been doing ok...but they werent building any huge momentum with amazing fights
when you think about it...canelo haters constantly crap on his fights...look at how they talked about him fighting kovalev....also golovkin haters dont talk too kindly about his comp either......who is andrade fighting thats blowing people out of the water? how about AJ? take away the intrigue after AJ getting beat to a pulp by ruiz for the rematch and there isnt much interest in his fights either?
theyve had some decent fights..like golovkin/chenko...canelo/jacobs...but with the fighters and their budget they havent made a ton of great ones....theyve had a few other under the radar, good/solid, fights....but nothing that the competition isnt doing
now its "not being fair" because of the corona virus..lol....ahhhh....
