Well last night Khabib Nurmagomedov tweeted the undercard to his main event in October and its literally 4 fights with all killers in there. Theyre saying it might be one if the best cards of all time.
Their whole schedule for the rest of the year is crazy tbh.
Yeah their match making is incredible. I'm still just a casual but every event they have is stacked with the best facing off.

This is exactly how one of my friends who's a HUGE Boxing fan started getting into the UFC. Even during this pandemic the UFC are moving right along matching the best against each other. Some Boxing fans bring up Boxers being paid more, but what relevance is that to the actual competition of the Sport? I come from an era where a fighter's purse was NEVER a point of discussion but fans now want to be accountants as well. Very strange time to be a Boxing fan.
Such a strange thing to see.
Boxing fans are the most insecure group of pvssies ever assembled in a sport. They feel so insecure about UFC, like it's a handsome guy hitting on their chick.
I'd say theres several factors, and thats one of the few that boxing has an edge in nowadays. Obviously the amateur scene/olympics is a huge contributor to this too.
I really wonder how long it will last though. Boxing will always have the olympics and strong ammy scene (MMA is not geared towards that and definitely wouldnt work in the olympics) but as far as pros go, at this point, you'd think a lot of people will have grown up with the UFC and that will be what they gravitate towards if they ever decide to compete.
It will just stay the same as it is now, I don't really see any combat sport rising up these days 'Society has change', but due to are primal interest they will always survive.
Boxing has higher participation levels, that is the true test of which sport is bigger

I have no problem with mma or ufc. I am simply stating that Top level boxers earn much much more money and I think that is a very important element giving that money makes the world go around and why the biggest star mma has ever seen went to fight in boxing to make the most money that he could. I have no problem with people not caring about another man money and just following the fights. That's cool. You clinging to Conor earnings would be like a boxing fan clinging to Mayweather earnings (which complete dominate Conor). Economics in the fight game mean a ton which is why there is a lot of attention paid to it. I follow Basketball, Baseball and the NFL and I don't care at all about the money in that because that is not what solely drives the sport but money dictates everything in the fight game.
Conor is retired. Jon Jones wanted more money and Dana said you won't get Deontay Wilder money... He even went on to say that you will not get half of Deontay Wilder money.
One thing also is that Top level boxing matches gates are SIGNIFICANTLY higher than mma.

There really is no debate between who has the bigger gates and what sport stars are paid the most. These are just facts. I think mma/ufc blows boxing out of the water with certain things they do in reaching young fans and marketing on Social Media. But it's a young sport that is on a great path. It's just not "taken over" boxing in certain aspects and it has in certain other aspects for sure.
Boxers make more money at the top, because it is a democracy 'And they are basically self employed, meaning their earnings are unlimited' But the pay in the UFC is much more dependable, because the UFC is controlled by one entity? And the fighters are employee's of that company/entity, so there earnings are not unlimited like in boxing.
Boxing has higher participation levels, that is the true test of which sport is bigger 'Not money'. What makes a sport global is it's reach and participation levels 'The UFC is in terms of numbers is a small organisation, and Mixed Martial Arts is scattered all over the show'.
Does it have a well establish amateur program? It is not even in the Olympics, all it really has is the UFC 'And afew other organisations that are not really regulated'.
Who cares what anyone is paid? The fans just want entertainment, where the best fight the best.
Do you think a champion would have a run of defences, that Wilder had in the ufc. Not a chance.
I couldn't agree more. I don't even like watching MMA style of fighting, but seeing "C" and "1" next to their fighters names during a fight tells you you're watching an important fight between the best, that in itself, adds a bit more drama to their bouts, and this is not a yearly thing - we're talking the best fighting the best EVERY month!

Yup totally agree!

Boxers are overpaid relative to what they draw, while UFC fighters are underpaid.
Spence and Garcia got a guaranteed purse of $3m each for a fight that did 375,000 PPV buys.
Pac got a guaranteed $10m and Thurman $2.5m for a fight that did 500k buys.
The purse for Wilder/Ortiz 2 was $3m and $1.5m respectively, and it did 275k buys.
Crawford and Khan got around $5m each for a fight that bombed with only 150k buys.
...and of course DAZN is paying out the ass for certain fighters and not getting a return on it.
Only the fighters in the main card get 90% share of the pie.
You talk as if the undercards in boxing get the same amount.
The money in the UFC is spread out, which is far better.
This is the best article that i have seen regarding fighter pay between the two sports with a lot of research and stats to show the facts. It is not pretty for either sport honestly.
"While it is readily apparent that most athletes from both sports make very little, it appears as if MMA fighters on average are worse off than their boxing counterparts." John S. Nash

They probably would have bombed even if they were both unopposed, well below 300k buys for either imo. The fact they are scheduled to clash with likely the two biggest UFC cards remaining this year is going to be absolutely ****ing brutal.
Yea you're probably right. I feel while the PBC out of all the "Outfits" have put on a better string of cards, it's VERY odd that a lot of those guys are still rather unknown to the general public. Boxing PPVs were almost always made based on the Match Up and or the popularity of a particular fighter(s) that brought in heavy revenue that putting on a PPV made sense. Both Charlos and Tank aren't "radar movers" no matter what Leonard Ellerbe or the PBC in general want to shove down our throats.
Just an FYI - The Charlo Brothers card and Tank vs Leo Santa Cruz are both on the same night as 2 BIG UFC match ups. Trust and believe you're very likely not going to hear "Official" buys for the Charlo card or Tank vs Leo. They're both getting crushed. It's not a knock at all to the PBC / Boxing because I'm watching both BUT from a commercial standpoint, those UFC PPVs are going to generate a lot more revenue.

Hardcore Boxing fans tend to ***** on the UFC be it ignorance and or having an "allegiance" to Boxing, but being a hardcore fan on Boxing for over 30 years I have 0 qualms saying the UFC are killin it right now. Understandably, The UFC is an entire company / "Federation" where all the fighters are under one umbrella. But that being said, even with this pandemic going on, they're been putting on HIGH LEVEL fights as if there isn't a pandemic going on.

Look what happened with the Canelo v Kov fight.....getting upstaged by Masvidal v Nate...to the point of them showing the fight in the Arena PRIOR to the Canelo v Kov fight. Imagine the UFC doing that for Boxing and the narrative that would've followed.
Go and get some tattoo's, and practicing flashing one of those rock and roll hand signs 'And Don't forget to stick your tongue out'.
Then you will fit right in with all the real insecure tap-out shirt wearing pricks.
It is possible to like both sports you know.
Ufc seem to be doing a lot right. Where as boxing seems to be doing a lot wrong.
