Here's how I rate them. Note that Tyson says it's his best shot (may surprise some)
Tyson: Technique 9/10
Power 8.5/10
Explosiveness 9.5/10
Wilder Technique 8/10
Power 9.5/10
Explosiveness 8.5/10
So that's my ranking of these two fighters right hand. Tyson has very good technique for power, although the flaring elbow is double edged (more power but also more telegraph) and someone not as fast would land more with Wladimirs cleaner ones, but not as hard. So it depends in that regard.
Wilder has an awesome all-round right hand but probably also helped a lot by his leverage.
Which would you rather have?
I was thinking of Tyson Fury when I answered your question. If you mean Mike Tyson it's close. For one single perfect punch I would pick Wilder but Tyson could throw right hand bombs many different ways all with perfect form and great power. Wilder is limited to a great straight right. sorry about misunderstanding the question.
Yeah but on the other hand, Wilder only needs to land once, clean, and it's a wrap. Good chins have stood up to Tysons right hand like Tillis, Green, etc.

I would rather have Wilder's straight right. It is a much harder, faster punch than any punch Fury has got. He is famous for it. Fury is the better all around fighter and I expect him to KO Wilder again. But when it comes to a fast deadly straight right Wilder has Fury beat by a mile. Just look at their records and KO percentages. I am only talking about wilder's arrow straight , on balance and correctly thrown right and not his windmill haymaker rights.
I’m 5’10” 215lbs so I’d take Mikes, harder for me to imagine Wilders arm on my shoulder. I truly think Wilders best shot might be harder than Mikes though. Mike had much more options with his right, Wilder pretty much has the one shot with his. Now I wonder what they’d be like if they had to exchange arms.
If a heavyweight loads up on their right hand. And literally nothing else. It will have some sting.
Wilder's punch is basically the equivalent of lining up professionals in front of a punch ball machine. I doubt chicken legs Wilder would come out on top if we did that.
Most fighters bring a bit more than one big punch. In fact you won't usually see them overcommit to it like that.
Tyson could throw that right in the middle of combinations. Meaning he was still balanced. So it's levels above Wilder's right hand.
I suppose it depends how hard Wilders right hand truly is. There have been stoppages without a knockdown
It maybe that we are looking to deep into raw power and underestimating Wilders precision, that makes it harder.
I have a pretty good read of Tysons power and I'll take that.. Especially with that explosiveness and torque.
It's more Wilder that's the question mark for me. His right hand is a bit mythological.
Mike can hurt you at any range , Wilder needs to catch you on the end with a lot of distance to maintain a good impact .
No brainer for me, give me Mike Tyson right hand . The body differences in itself is not a fair comparison , Mike was compact so it’s more then who’s right hand because Mike is made to destroy you with much more angles and also can come up underneath which was an uppercut from hell .
Tough one for me.
I agree that Tysons is better for power, physique independent, but if you get Wilder, you also get his arm because we cannot take his reach out of the equation, just as we can't with Tysons shorter reach.
