So. Lomachenko now offering to give Teofimo Lopez even more money, from his own purse, to make this fight.
Will Lopez take it or will he keep on making excuses?
And for all them ****ing clowns saying Lomachenko is lowballing what do you have to say for yourselves?
Can't wait the threads after the fighting saying Lomachenko bought that belt. Can't wait!
i totally agre...if teo and his people are that delusional that they want even 50 percent, let alone be the a-side, and that kills the fight? then yeah its totally on him for killing it
they have a manager there though...who isnt teos dad...and i think he knows the deal and is reasonable....i think its much more likely they are looking to add 3-500k on to their purse....to me that 1.2 is a little light....
i agree...if hes unreasonable and kills it then its all on him....i just dont think the comments coming from his dad hold much weight.....he does alot of talking but i believe they have a voice of reason in that camp(manager)
we saw/heard the same song and dance from the same type of people way back when danny jacobs turned down an initial lowball offer from team golovkin......did danny look scared when they fought?
"Same kind of people"?
The WBA set the purse bid for the fight at 75%/25%.
Thats what you call a low ball offer? Why did they do it? Because didn't need to initially offer anymore. Duh.
But Lopez and Lomachenko are promoted by the same company. The same doesn't even apply to them.
And you think you're a boxing fan? Lmfao
Right, right, right. But do you really think Teofimo Lopez is anywhere near who Danny Jacobs was at the time ? Might be a bit too soon to start comparing Teo with Danny, imo. And Danny didn't play the clown or villain role.
What I'm saying is, that when you play that role (it's not just his Dad), you reap what you sow.
Not everybody that rejects a first offer is scared. I get that. I don't know that anybody really believes that Teo is scurred. But I certainly see how people might make comments like that, given Teo's public history. Goes with the territory.
We will only know IF Teo gets in the ring.
How Danny performed is really irrelevent. Teo ain't Danny. He's got a long way to go, imho.
of course...hes 22...but thats all irrelevant too if how danny performed is.....
playing the villain and hyping the fight is part of what teo has done to build interest in the fight...that and knock commey out on national tv in front of a good audience...without teo its just another ho hum loma fight...with teo its built into must see tv
Here's the thing. There's a fine line between hyping a fight and self-deluded thinking. Outlandish statements can only be taken so far, go on for so long, before it gives the appearance that something is off. And the big problem is with El Viejo Loco.
As Mark Kriegal accurately stated, " is largely the product of his father's ambition." I think this is a tremendous understatement. HIs dad is the one that pushed for the Lomachenko fight. It wasn't really his son. At least not in the beginning. And I know that Teofimo is scared to fight Lomachenko. If anyone doesn't believe me, I can prove it with actual footage. The kid is having a Charmin moment as I type this.
The point, really, that I'm making is that the father has reached a level of such deluded thinking that with the combination of Teofimo losing confidence and the father's erroneous overconfidence and bias, that the amalgamation of the two has heralded Teofimo's defeat already.
And if he doesn't take the fight now, not only will he be viewed as the biggest coward of recent memory, but he'll never get the credit for fighting Lomachenko and possibly beating him if he waits for Lomachenko to get older, out of his prime.
It's a do or die situation for Teofimo in many ways.
Good comment..:notworthy

yeah...i agree 100 percent
but the guy i quoted and was referring to? did you see what he said when i posed that question?
he said "well if he does get the money he better back it up by knocking loma out within 4 rounds"...lol...as if thats a must....as if any other type of performance will shame teo...lol
teo will have won before getting in the ring by getting the money he wanted.....not won the fight...but won a battle he wanted to win.......even a close loss would not shame teo in any way in that event.....its a tough fight
Oh wow, no I didn't see that quote, but yeah at the top level a legit win is a legit win. Of course a dominant/impressive win for either would be even better but a win without controversy is good enough for me.
I will say he negotiated successfully if that happens. I just hope he doesn't overplay his hand but I'm all for fighters negotiating. Hopefully both parties come to an agreement so we can see the fight.

The issue is this.. That hasn't happened yet and if that one article is accurate, his father was in essence saying that Teo was the A side and should be paid like it. Until Teo actually admits to being the B, by taking a B purse, it's totally reasonable to allow for the possibility that he's "ducking" in some form.

Really can't disagree with you. IF Teo accepts an additional 300K-500K, and the fight goes on for Oct 3rd, I'd likely assume he was just negotiating. Various fighters sometimes use some clown talk to negotiate and hype a fight. I get that.

And you do have some guys on here that blame Lomachenko, feel he is a bum and a hype-job unworthy of P4P recognition. Others, like me, are just concerned Teo & Co. are going to screw this thing up, based on some punk comments their side reportedly keeps making. Sure it generates talk or interest, but it also opens the door for the public to "jump on him" a little. That has to be expected, if you are going to play that role. Floyd knew that and didn't care, plus he backed it up.
Negotiating is fine, but expect some pushback if the fight doesn't get made, or if you get schooled. We've seen too many good fights get scratched to not have even a little anxiety. And that comes from Camp Teo, not Loma.
Peace. :beerchug:

nobody is hating on loma....or "****ting on him"....like some of you guys are literally going crazy...nobody places any real fault on loma here....some are saying thats its ok if lopez wants more money and tries to get it....thats really all...and some of you guys are going on the offensive and going at teo saying hes scared or that he talked all that stuff and now hes being a coward.....its money...his people feel his side is worth more than what its offered....let him live and try to get the money his people want....hes not being ridiculous yet as far as a i know...he likely wants a few more hundred k.....its not crazy for him to ask for it nor does it make him a coward
i dont think anyone is realistically blaming loma for anything....so why are so many of you ready to jump on teo for trying to get some more money?

Or maybe he wants to be compensated better for losing.
he very well might lose...and im sure hes well aware of that....thats why he wants to be compensated, by his teams assessment, properly...at least what they feel is proper....
all of these guys know a loss is possible...loma knows a loss is possible for him too......
lopez's team have a set number they feel they are realistcally worth for this fight...it wasnt met with the original offer....thats all
theres a risk with every fight between two major fighters...it doesnt mean teo is scared....it means he wants what he feels is his market value for this fight.....and hes not being wildly unrealistic
No. You're making excuses. Especially the bold.
If he gets more money and takes a dive to cash out, you're saying that's "good"? Seriously?
takes a dive?!!?! lol...youre really going off the deep end guy...i cant even continue the convo with someone that nuts
The guy wanted to publicly call Lomachenko out and make a name off of him. Seems fair that he's being humilated during negotiations. Cant talk that big and not walk that walk.
It is all on Lopez now for promoting himself calling out Loma. Now the fight is there and all this back and forth.
I hate these public negotiations.

]or is he just looking to be compensated better for the fight?
every time a fighter holds out for more money it doesnt mean he scared or not confident
lopez talks his ****...but deep down i know he knows this is a dangerous fight and has respect for loma....its called building interest in a fight and building your profile and raising your worth for a fight....
floyd talked **** on everyone too....yet they always say he trained like a broke man that every opponent was coming to take his food away.....and he respected them enough to know every guy was coming for him and that they were legit world class fighters
some of you guys go crazy with the "hes afraid"..."not confident"...somtimes its just business
did danny jacobs look all that scared when golovkins team upped the offer to him? because when danny initially rebuffed an early offer thats what everyone said.....
Or maybe he wants to be compensated better for losing.
Lopez is looking for a way out. He's not as confident as he wanted people to believe.

Dude, you don't repeatedly call out a top guy, then guy says "let's do it" and you say "well...not enough money doe...", then the top guy is like, "...ok, take some more of my money, let's DO THIS.". That's called pulling the punk card.
If Teofimo doesn't take the offer, he's a ducking smoke talker.
If he does, he better DAMN well back up his talk with in-ring excellence.
You can't go around acting like a B without backing up your talk. You did it to Commey, do it to Loma if you're that MF'n good.
dude...youre being kind of a weirdo/psycho....the dude talked the smack he did and he built up huge interest in the fight
its real simple..he didnt like the figure they threw at him...its implied with all fighters that "if the money is right".....if loma cuts his purse to get teo more money to make the fight thats awesome...if teo doesnt take it its on him and you can call him whatever...but if he does get the money from loma and signs for the fight thats a win for teo whether he wins or loses the fight.....
of course hes gonna talk smack...hes getting interest in the fight and building up his side...to, wait for it, get more money! thats what he should be doing......if he loses the fight? well how many other 22 year olds are really willing to get in the ring with loma? not many......you are being a weirdo and derranged
if the fight doesnt get made it will be on teo if loma cuts his money to give to teo.....if the fight gets made then it gets made and may the best man win....there are no real expectations.....youre kinda being a lunatic man
