This is a risky fight for errol after a long lay off and a near death car crash. Garcia is no easy fight.
Thurman - Porter
Danny - Porter
Thurman -Danny
Spence -Porter
All competitive fights. No way Spence -danny goes any different. None of those guys is a gatekeeper. Gatekeepers are guys like Granados.
Sure not. But gifted win doesn`t count much.
You actually think Horn is better than Danny, lol?
I watched that fight live and though it could have gone either way and I wouldn't have complained if it had gone Manni's way, in fact I expected it to go to Pacman simply because he was a HOF champion. However, in no way was anyone robbed in that fight. It was a 50/50 decision.
Do I think Horn is a better boxer than Danny on a sustained basis, no I don't.
However, Horn was inspired that night and Manni was below par and if that had been Danny in the ring, I think Horn would have won going away as Danny simply does not have the output to have kept Horn away from him on that day. A man fighting in front of a huge crowd in his own country. That can inspire you to do great things.
And you equate that to being similar to defeating Pacman?

... all depends on Spence -- if he's "the same", he could easily beat Danny boxing from the distance (borefest)... Danny doesn't hold a proper jab and he can be dangerous only at mid-range...
Morales, Khan, Judah, Matthysse
Peterson, Malignaggi, Guerrero, Granados
Lol, pretty impressive. People nowadays claim Ortiz jr. is ready for top because he beat S. vargas. Guys like S Vargas are just another day at work for Danny.

I don't even rate Horn that highly (he is tough and combatative but not highly skilled) however he has beaten Pacman.
Who has Garcia beaten at any level even approaching Pacman.

He is still better than anybody Crawford has ever fought.

this fight will be like spence vs mikey but danny will be a little more competitive but the fight will go very much like how it did when spence fought mickey mouse. danny and mikey is practically the same in the sense that they are both turtles when it comes to footwork.
Danny is bigger and stronger than mikeY. Significantly so.
I felt both fights with Thurman and Porter could of went either way.
Yea pretty close fights. They gave the fights to The more action fighter. Garcia generally more accurate but Thurman and porter morn active. Activity won the judges over. Albeit close.
Ok thats fine, but terence needs to stop complaining then. Hes 33 and cant secure a big fight because he willingly chose to sign with top rank which has a non existant welterweight stable. He made his bed now he can sleep in it. He can Enjoy fighting mediocre fighters for the rest of his career.
I agree. He took the money. Sold his soul. Dug his own grave and he must lay in it.
He likely will never get great status.
Bro he went on DAZN and verbally admitted ducking a fight that not 3 weeks prior, his promoter said he wanted next for him, after Al Haymon gave the green light.
Is there more to that chip
He said he’s not focusing on porter fight. Did he say what he IS focusing on.
I’m not clamoring for a porter fight. I think we all are looking for the spence fight.

In my opinion, Danny Garcia is now a high-level gatekeeper. He was a champion but he was never elite. At welterweight, he lost to both Thurman and Porter, who while both highly rated fighters, no one would mistake them for elite champions. At 140 Garcia might have been better but at 147, his last two opponents were Redkach and Granados who have 10 losses between them.
This assumption that Danny Garcia is some great opponent at welterweight is false. If he beats Spence, it will make me look more closely at Spence's level rather than assume that Garcia is now some great.

I agree but he did win it..It was credible is all I'm saying..
Absolutely agree with you there. I like Porter and he is a tough fighter but beating him is not a signature/marquee win.
Else you could say the same about Kell Brook and no one puts him in the discussion of elite fighters. Good fighter, absolutely! Elite, absolutely NOT!
