Do the relevant authorities have the power to pursuade/convince title holders to consider to fight behind closed door should the no fans present continue? There's possibilities of second spike so there's a good chance the no fans will/could be longer than we think/anticipate
I know it's not most likely in the best interests but they've shown cards can be staged safely so longs protocols are met so I'm wondering if the powers that be then say 'the show must go on' regarding our commitments to all the boxers providing everyone can be safe..
We know and have heard/read some fighters reasons into no fighting but I don't think I've read one saying it's because of fear of catching Covid 19. If anyone has any recent links I'm all for reading..
Of course there's many factors anyways regarding negotiations etc into agreeing/sorting fights.
I'm not saying everyone SHOULD fight or consider fighting but it was just a thought that if this is going to be a longer term thing then do the authorities along with the boxers need a re think into how Boxing is going to move forward...
Do you guys have any ideas in how you think Boxing could/should move forward should things be prolonged further than anticipated or is it a case of leave it as it is and see how it goes..
NOBODY has th authority to make boxers fight if they don't want to. It is that simple. The virus does not change that. If a boxer does not want to take a fight he signs no contract and he does not fight. End of story.
I don't mean it in a straight sense of fight or else. That would be ridiculous..
I mean in getting together and seeing how they move forwards.. a lot of fighters want to fight so how do the authorities commit to those guys in helping them climb the ladder when the bigger name refuses? ..because he has money to burn..
reality is a boxing match can happen safely if all protocols are met.. sporting events on a much larger scale are moving along without fans.. I'm well aware of the financial side.. I totally get the top boxers side but I'd like to hear/see from the authorities and fans side..
At what point do the likes of WBC, IBF say we would like to get something moving in terms of big fights? Do we as in boxing wait it out and hope a second wave doesn't come and clear boxing out for what could seem an age?
Do we need to see these fights in the near future? I know we'd like to as fans but does boxing need to financially as a business?
