Charlo-Rosario
Charlo-Derevyanchenko
Santa Cruz vs Davis.
To name a few.
Some great fights being lined up. Looking forward to those three in particular.
Make it 50$ and put 3 championship worthy fights on the card. Stack that b!tch ala Don King.
That is always another option because I think people will pay if they see the product is worth it.
These are strong fights. Hopefully PBC tweaks their model a bit. Since there isn't fans in arena's for a while, revenue will be generated from PPV sales. Make fights that are worth me buying. Charge a reasonable price.
I doubt it but it would be great if cards were between $25-30. I'd be willing to pay more if you make unification fights or fights between top guys.

ya bro donaire is the man , ive been a fan since his destruction of darchinyan after vic put a beating on nonitos little bro Glen.
Yeah same here man, people forget how big of an upset that was, Showtime were pushing Darchinyan hard at the time.
Nonito is one of those few fighters who will literally fight anyone.
You are getting defensive Af. You getting paid for defending PBC on here?
It is taking advantage of a long period of time without any boxing let alone good fights like this one. Boxing fans are starving for a good, big fight. I think some of those fans who normally wouldn't have bought this card will do now
If you don't think UFC being the only sport during the pandemic had anything to do with that fight doing 1.3 million thwn you're a fool
when he fought Diaz for that bmf belt that fight was getting huge publicity for months prior yet the final buys weren't even released. Hmm iwonder why.
Masvidal might be a big name in UFC but he was a late replacement in this fight yet the numbers for this fight were huge. What a coincidence
Defensive? No, but you just make no sense. First it was there are no sports and now it is because fans are craving for good, big fights? I mean in that case, the buys should be GREAT for these cards, correct? Yet, I bet the Charlo card does under 250k buys, and maybe even under 200k buys.
Final buys weren't released? Since when were the final buys released for Masvidal vs Usman? Did I miss something? Coppinger is the one that broke how many buys it did, a number that was then disputed by others like Meltzer. But Masvidal is even bigger after the Diaz fight.
Late replacement? Sure, still a weeks notice and how many people buy the PPVs a week out before the fight? And Usman was coming off a big win against Covington that was made into a race war so he had good momentum.
But did the other UFC PPVs also do big buys during the pandemic since they were the only sport out? And again, by the time these two PPVs take place, you will have damn near every sport league in business while also have a Canelo fight.
As I said, Tank vs LSC was always going to be PPV with or without Covid. Par for course there.
SHO nor FOX would have been able to afford the Charlo brothers card though, not when the opponent for one of the fights is making around 3M. And Rosario being a unified champion isn't going to take chump change against Jermell either. Then you add no gate revenue plus other revenue in the arena? Yeah, PPV was the only way this was going to work.
Lol, so they are taking advantage of NO sports? You do realize when these PPVs happen that sports like MLB, NBA and NFL will be back, correct?
Would Charlo vs Derevyanchenko as a stand alone be a PPV? No, but that wouldn't have been PPV even with Covid. They had to put his brother on the same card in a unification bout with some other solid names. Derevyanchenko is making probably at least 3M, and then both Charlo's are going to make that range if not a little more. A network wouldn't have been able to afford that card without PPV.
UFC does monthly PPVs all the time. Nothing changed in that regard. And you said journeyman just did 1.3M buys? He's one of the most popular fighters in combat sports. Wins and losses doesn't determine popularity in the UFC. Nick Diaz became a huge name after the two McGregor fights and Masvidal just headlined a PPV against Diaz the fight prior. Trust me, VERY few boxers are bigger names than Masvidal.

Of course they are taking advantage of this situation, you think in normal circumstances charlo/derv would be on PPV? I doubt it
There's no sports atm other than UFC (didn't a fight beetwen some boring ass champ and some journeyman did over a million the other weekend) and football which is not popular in US

Taking advantage? How do you take advantage of the situation with Covid? Tank-LSC was going to be PPV either way, with or without Covid. And with the card put it on for the Charlo brothers, I don't really see how a network was going to be able to afford that either. So good chance that was going to be PPV as well.
Lomachenko vs Lopez once it gets announced is also going on PPV. Promoters are losing gate revenue and other type of revenue. Tough situation to be in.

Yeah both interesting fights. I’m rooting hard for Donaire.

Good fights but no way they're PPV worthy
PBC is just taking advantage of the current situation with Covid like UFC did

I think I actually posted yesterday that J-Rock-Harrison would make perfect sense as an unofficial eliminator to get the winner of Charlo-Rosario. I still rate Lubin highly too, I think he can still achieve a lot despite the setback to Charlo a couple of years back.
I’m not a huge MMA fan but it seems there is little record padding. Top contenders consistently fight one another to earn a shot. I guess that’s the perks of having 1 title and 1 organisation.
I’m really hoping the Fury-Wilder trilogy proves to promoters that they can work together amicably to make the best fights. Hopefully they can follow up on this with Spence-Crawford, Loma-Tank etc etc.
Those fights IMO make the most sense. Lubin is ranked #1 so let him get the fight. I am not big on UFC either but they give the #1 ranked guy the title fight they earned. Boxing does a TERRIBLE job in this regard.
At this point I would think all of them realize fans want to see certain fights. The pandemic is the perfect "excuse" for them to work with each other.
Then we got the Fulton jr fight for the 122 wbo strap , and donaire ouballi ....**** ya pbc
Yeah both interesting fights. I’m rooting hard for Donaire.
Agree. I think the right price point can really boost these fights. If I was working with PBC, i'd suggest going as low as $11.99-19.99 for cards like this. I'd also look to make the most relevant fights in each division. These might not always be the best possible fights.
I think the one thing UFC does right is reward winning with progressively better fights for more money. PBC needs to do this. Make Charlo/Lubin and JRock/Harrison on the same card. Then have the winners fight, maybe even the losers, on the next big JMW card. No reason a guy gets a big win then fights a bum in a cash grab. I think that turns fans off. With UFC, you know a guy that just won is fighting a better opponent that, on paper, is worth buying.
Also time to make the cross promotional fights with TR. Keep an eye out on what goes on at DAZN and be prepared to scoop up any contracts they may have to let go.

Totally forgot about Lipinets vs Abdukakharov. Decent fight.
You're a star.. was told a while ago to keep an eye out for a fighter whose name I'd totally forgot... Until now that is... Abdukakhorov. Cheers, have a bit of green stuff...
As a Brit I’ll likely get these fights for free, but you make a very good point. I think PBC should definitely lower the general price and try and get as many viewers as possible. Obviously they need to make up for the loss of gate revenue but I doubt many people will be willing to pay $60-80 for these type of shows.
