Which version do you think would win. I got Duran by points.I'd rather pit the Duran at 154 that stopped Davey Moore vs Canelo at 154 for a much better fight. That Duran I'd pick to win a decision.
Duran never beat another name fighter after this win, he lost the next two one being tko loss, this was not a prime Duran he was nearly done .
Iran was a tough B grade MW, whos claim to fame was chin checking Hearns and Tommy was a little chinney, other than that he really beat nobody.
Todays Canelo would mop the floor with both of those versions of Barkley and Duran.
What Duran did after that fight was not part of the question.Duran and Barkley both showed up to fight and people I get Nellie is the best of his generation but facts are first ggg fight lost his heart a little bit when he put the track shoes on and to continue to have him beating all these greats when he’s not a huge puncher so he will have to go twelve with these guys who fight hard bell to bell.Ginger boy slows down dramatically in late rounds Which would cost him dearly unless Byrd was scoring the fight.
Canelo struggled with khan's speed and movement until Khan got tired and inconsistent. Whilst Duran doesn't quite have that handspeed – his footspeed, defense and upper body movement is elite.
Canelo just struggles with fast, slick fighters. Whilst I wouldn't class Duran as "slick", his defense was super elusive. I think Duran takes a decision.
Read again, I said I wouldn't class him as slick, but his defense was ridic. Watch this, love this.
Maybe you hate editing ?
BTW, we would look like Ali vs the guys in the highlight clip.
Twice you gave Duran attributes he didn't have. At that stage, Duran wasn't even slick. Take into account how neanderthal like Barkley was.
If you want to see slick, see how Nelo made GGG miss 96 % of his rights and reduced him into being a jabbing head hunter.
Khan and Brook had moments of effectiveness...but never were the outcomes in doubt.

Duran was great up to welterweight but he was never even close to being a middleweight. He fought a great fight against Barkley. I consider both GGG and Canelo great middleweights and think either of them beat the much smaller Duran and might knocked Duran out as Hearns did at 154.

Nice trolling
But Duran faced joppy at MW tho?
No read again fool, even the lightweight Duran beats Canelo and even the 42 year old who got stopped by Joppy can beat Canelo.
Too many know it all on this site. with dumbs post troll to put this post up is an insult to Duran who would have screwed you mum and made you and your dad watch.

Let Duran alone. Another galaxy.
The Barkley who defeated Hearns twice would be enough to stick all over Canelo's chest and suffocate him with all kinds of hard punches.
Trying to be objective as I can but, all things considered, Canelo is rather overrated. Not for this day and age; I mean, when comparing him to past greats. He would not go that far.

This post right here sums it up for me . Nothing more to add.....green k
Duran all the way it would be like first GGG fight nelo would eventually put the track shoes on and his punch numbers would fall dramatically the last few rounds.

Tough call. Duran is a better overall fighter but he’d be older and heavier by far than his best. Too close to call at 12 rounds. The Duran that went 15 against Hagler a few years prior, I’ll take Duran.
