He should fight at Cruiser or even try to come down and make 175. If he gets ripped up and obviously has lost enough muscle mass from age, at 5’9 he should be able to make cruiser, and maybe even 175. If he can do that, I’d give him a 50/50 shot at winning a title. I’d say f heavyweight if I were him at this age against anyone really. He looks like he’s in really good shape and I think he could be around 200 lbs right now. Any old school heavy besides Evander I s going to come n around 300 lbs. no reason to fight someone who outweighs you by 100lbs. Would be interesting to see what Mike can do at light heavy weight right now.

- - Why bother when Mike flushes U every AM?
He's bulking up right now for his fight with a great white shark. If it wasn't for that he could possibly make 175 even though he weighed more than that when he was 9 years old.
😁
Lol 9. Beast though

Does Canelo beat Mike Tyson right now?
All hypothetical and As much as it pains me, I'd say yes and could be pretty comfortably..
As much as sparring goes etc, There's no substitute for active fighting.. and Tyson is an old man with a near on life of body misuse. He may look good for his age, he may look good over a couple of minute video, but going toe to toe with an active boxer such as Canelo then I'd have to side with him.
We could say what if Tyson lands one, but what if he doesn't?
I’d pay money to see Tyson vs Canelo at a catch weight of 190. I think it’s a fight that would probably come close to setting a pay per view record.
Tyson's my fav fighter of all time and I wouldn't pay or watch it..
Id agree, about 25/30 year ago...
He's not been a freak of nature for an age..
He was getting embarrassed back then by bums, so putting him against fighters 20+ years on against fighters near on 30 years younger in a weight where they are even faster is boarderline suicidal...
Exhibition talk is what it is and then I can't see that ending happily if it did ever get pulled off....

Tyson n is old, but he’s a freak of nature

Mike an his missus as a team are pretty clever...
A few seconds vid, coupled with encouragement of a rumour and no doubt they would have already made some decent coin without lifting a finger..
Probably not, but I think it's crazy people think any club fighter will have their way with him.
The world is filled with stories of people who do remarkable things, learning to walk again, finding the drive and determination to participate in special Olympics.....I think it's wild people find it hard to believe a former pro fighter can compete at a high level again just because hes older and retired.
Times have have changed, and old ain't what it used to be. And let's not forget, strength in the last to leave a fighter, which is pretty significant in the fight game. You can lose speed but timing trumps speed anyway, there is always a counter for anything in boxing.
Also I'm the type of guy you have to prove you lost it to, I always give people the benefit of the doubt. Why not?
I'm excited to see what he can do, and that goes for all fighters coming back. It's inspiring. Isn't it?
I just got chills reading this:boxing:
So are you saying Tyson can compete at the highest level now?

I think if he were able to come down to 175, he could make it interesting. Tyson n is old, but he’s a freak of nature and I think he could ko a guy at 175. Also if he got to 175 and was ripped, I’d know he was in peak shape and condition. I do not think he could compete at the highest level of heavyweight.
Actually, yes Larryx.
The human body can basically fully recover from almost anything.
The idea that what you do to your body is permanent is pretty much outdated.
It's the same reason I find people who thought Fury couldn't come back and compete, stupid and ignorant.
You can have accidents, break bones, do drugs, drink, and yes, you can erase all of that if you do the right things.
So are you saying Tyson can compete at the highest level now?
So all the damage he did to his body will just disapear at 54?? lol, plus now he is a literal pothead..I see why promoters can scam people, posters like you actually buy into this fairy tale mess...

Mikes legs have been gone for decades and his upperbody movement vanished in the 80's...then his reflexs went in the dumps..So what do you think you have left at 54??? yep a no stamina having old man who looks good on the pads for 5 sec clips

Yeah people forget just how bad Mike looked in the 2000’s. The damage is already done...
Yeah 50/50 was way to high, but I think you aren’t taking enough account of the fact that Tyson was a drug using drunk once he got out of jail with no real work ethic which contributed to his steep decline while Bernard had some of the best work ethic ever. I think Mike would be surprisingly good coming back because I think his level of dedication to health/fitness/training is higher than its ever been since leaving jail. And if he would of continued to work like he did when Cus was alive, he never would of declined or lost till much much later.

Prime Tyson was 220 pounds of muscle and lean at that weight. He might have lost some muscle mass with age but he has lost all the other things you lose with old age. It's possible he could make cruiserweight but being strong 175 is not possible. Tyson retired nearly 20 years ago because at his age way back then he was losing to average fighters so he knew it was time to retire. Now that he is almost 20 years older he will be much worse due to old age, not better. His chance of winning a world title at any weight IS NOT 50/50. His chances of winning a world title is zero, impossible, never going to happen so just forget about it. Any top 20 world rated cruiserweight would easily beat today's Tyson. Hopkins is a freak in that he stayed good at such an old age. Tyson is not another guy like Hopkins who stays good into his late 40s and even 50. If he was he would not have been forced to so long ago. Lewis knocked Tyson out and Lewis is older than Tyson.
