I plan on dropping out of high school during my Sop****re year (10th) so i an focus my time on pure Boxing training for my amateur bouts.. i am currently 16 and i can go professional when i turn 18. So my plan is that i drop out of high school spend 2 years of my life training hard isolating myself from friends, social life etc. Seems kinda weird? but it will pay off later during my professional era that's if i stick to the plan and stay DEDICATED. Thank you for reading this post and please leave me some comments and your thoughts about my plan. Please no trolls. I want honest answers.

Terrible idea to drop out of high-school to focus on a boxing career. First, high-school is a bare minimum education, and secondly, you can still pursue a professional career while in high-school.
If I knew you personally and could talk to you I would tell you to use high-school and boxing as ways to focus on something productive and cultivate discipline in your life. Go to the gym everyday, do your homework, don't get involved in partying, drinking alcohol or anything like that. Have a rigorous workout routine on Saturdays, rest on Sundays and eat a healthy diet that helps you be at your best.
By the time you're done with high-school you will have built a solid foundation of discipline and good habits that can help take your life amd boxing career to next level.

You only see this in West, where guys feel that they need to dropout and dedicate themselves completely to boxing. It worked for Canelo, but I also don't know what all of his options were. In the Ukraine, you have guys that go very far in the amateurs yet still were able to have a college education. If I were you, I would not drop out but have two plans and try to make them as close to each other as possible. You could train for boxing while working on graduating and getting a degree in Sports Science or something to help you become a person trainer. Something like that. Choose fields close to each other, one that needs an education and the other, like boxing, that needs talent and dedication.
If you go the route you're going, you are gambling with yourself. Many times the unforeseeable happens that derails your goals. It could be a serious injury or something else. It's happened to way too many promising athletes in all sports to count the numbers.
All school is overrated. Many of the most successful and intelligent people in the world were not well schooled. School is excellent for people who like to be followers and have difficulty learning through experience. Education does not equate to intelligence. Many people don't see this, especially those that tout education as the be all, end all.
You're right, education does not equate to intelligence, it is a source of knowledge that simply living can't provide nearly as well.
Exactly, and you're not getting special treatment if you're not already someone special, be it talent wise, charisma or whatever..
And to climb up the boxing ladder as a nobody from the bottom and staying undefeated till you make it to the top 10, you might as well climb everest with no gear and no clothes.
Yes. You have boxer A, with the same training, skills, background, and attributes as boxer B. They both have the same background in boxing.
The only difference is boxer A is signed by a big promotional company. Why? Who knows. Right time, right place type of thing.
But guess what? He gets all the backing by his promotional company. He’s advertised heavily. So what does his promoter do? Feed him lower ranked bouts to make boxer A look good. Hell, he will look like a wreaking machine, even though he hasn’t developed. He’ll still make a decent career.
Then take boxer B. He has to do small club and local shows. He fights for less money and he has to take more risks on the way up. He will more than likely lose several bouts on the way up and he probably won’t get any breaks in the business because he doesn’t have that backing.
I don't know that I can agree with you entirely there, bro. One still has to have SOMETHING to set him apart from the average fighter. Take Deontay Wilder for instance: He started late, is one-dimensional and has demonstrated terrible form BUT, he has that monster right hand that sets him apart from the crowd. Without it, he would have gone nowhere.
I do agree with you. And no joke, I backed Deontay Wilder hard up against Fury. God I loved his power. Really all he had. Freak athleticism and power and that’s about it. Absolutely zero skill. He literally got by on pure athleticism and power.
Berlenga is also a more recent example of a guy who has a big backing behind him with limited skills, but even with him, his flaws are glaringly obvious.

Dropping out of school is never a good idea. Finishing something you started should be a goal as well in life. Dedication is you doing both. School time would be the time to rest and get educated.
Being in HS is probably the easiest time to get some tang, come on young man! WTF!?
High school is overrated

You seem to forget the premise. Re-read the title of the thread.
And for the most part, school is mostly a waste of time. One can get useful knowledge at a much faster pace without going to public indoctrination camps.
An apprenticeship would be much better.
On the contrary... You keep making the same ignorant statement... It won't make it less ignorant even if you repeat it 100 times! If you stayed in school you might know that I s'pose. Public indoctrination can usually best be sussed when one has the ability to distinguish the quality of information which takes education. Apprenticeship is a way for someone to get an education in a trade. They are all good! I actually have an MA and did work towards a doctorate, and also grew up on the streets of East Harlem laced up by some guys with pretty big game... I wouldn't part with either education received! They were both enlightening.
your taking a true statement (the first part) and drawing a false conclusion (the second part). You dont want nuclear physics? people who know Cuniform? programers, doctors? People who can speak about arcane areas of knowledge and understanding?

Dude. Finish high school. It isn’t hard to get your diploma.
LOL ^^^^^ This, it aint hard getting your diploma and just grind on the side in the boxing gym/ shadow box, School is a good distraction if you train hard. And it develops you socially.
With the right promotion, strings being pulled, hand picked opponents, and money, anyone can disguise themselves as a “talent” and make it far in the sport of boxing. But you know how it goes. The truth eventually comes out.

A person doesn't need school to be educated. It's mostly a waste of time.

Thats ignorant. Sure... We have massive problems with our education system. But you live in a society that has carved out a place for you to educate yourself before working your entire life. Knowledge comes from a lot of things... An education is one of them.

There's nothing special about high school. A person could complete whatever coursework on their own in 1/8th the time if home schooled or something similar and they'd be without the bull**** brainwashing.
Knowledge doesn't come from school.

young man,
If you are 16 you have more than enough time and energy to do both... I wouldn't recommend what you are doing. Also. since when is isolating oneself productive? Just plug into the right social network... I mean if you were in Baltimore and you "Isolated" from guys shooting and going to strip clubs that is one thing, but all these young guys coming up KN OW each other because they were part of the same social network for fighters coming up...
Your biggest challenge is to find the money to buy food (I know if you are training you are putting it down lol!) and to pay for boxing essentials. For that try to find a part time job. Please reconsider the notion that you are taking away from boxing if you work and go to school... Does not work that way at your age...
I want to conclude this post to share one more thing with you: One of the greatest heavyweight fighters ever, was a man functionally illiterate. He was embarrassed by this his entire life... To top it off, he was one of the smartest and most methodical fighters... he had no choice. He simply was not taught to read and it really created problems for him his entire life... that man was Sonny Liston.
Get your HS diploma. If you didn't start boxing when you were between 6 and 10 years old and you're not a special natural talent, chances are you're already too old. Be honest with yourself; are you really that good? Even if you are, you want to be educated so people don't take advantage of you.
