This turn into what fighter you hate.
Overrated is Ryan Garcia until he wins a few meaningful matches.
As much they are trying to make Whyte the HW boogeyman he at least has some recognizable names in his resume
Damn. I meant Proska. Really need to proof read my work. No excuse.
No worries, I knew it was a typo. I never watched GGG v Proska, might nave to check it out
Apparently any popular fighter who you don't happen to like is overrated. Which is no surprise since the idea of being "overrated" and "underrated" is subjective anyway. The truth is you can nitpick anyone's resume and make a case for them being overrated. It's just a matter of who you dislike enough to do so.
Crawford has to be top one..
Garcia, although that may be by himself and his camp and the 300m mengirls that follow him..
I love Warrington but I think he's also over egged himself, he needs to get out of Leeds to prove it to the world..
Canelo is boarderline
Canelo almost lost twice to an overrated guy?
He didn't almost lose twice though. He got a draw and a decision. There is no "almost" in boxing. You lose, you win, or you draw.
I knew ggg was a coward but forcing a 140ib'er to fight him on short notice too was totally disgraceful
Plus Crawford had already gone postal on Postal.
Now that's just stone fugin cold!
Umm Canelo won a SWW belt way before Smith.
And MW he beat Cotto and GGG
But your lies so tell them how you see.... Not like a Casual like you bet $$$$ on fights. Your a hater with a soft p$ssy.
I mentioned Cotto.
Miguel was a 4x loser and a victim of 2 vicous beatdowns before he fought the diva.
You're right. Alvarez won the vacant WBC title.
I was writing about weak champs he fought not weak contenders.
BTW you forgot to mention his opponent, it was MATTHEW HATTON! (And the diva even had a rehydration clause for the fight) WTF???
No lies just da truth, Ruth!
I love to really study fighters when I can. With Kovalev I never really understood why he was touted as “great” by so many people. I don’t think anybody would rank any of his skills that high vs other “greats”. Tough guy for sure, but I expected him to get KOd by Canelo and he did, in a blink no less. I did rewatch GGG vs Postol for the first time since live. Was surprised that GGG really had all the flaws back then that he’s accused of now. Blocked a lot of punches with his face, missed a lot. Not so fleet of foot as I remembered. He did do more body work. But I was kinda surprised. Course it’s all different looking back with our rose coloured glasses or jaundiced eyes. Still Nelo at 30 is way more talented than GGG ever was. Course GGG does have a granite chin.
Golovkin vs Postol?
I do think both Golovkin and Canelo are a little overrated. Canelo has too many asterisks next to his best wins and to me it looks like his skillset, while impressive, gets over-exaggerated to match his earning power. It's clear now that Golovkin isn't as invincible as he was thought to be not that long ago. I thought he deserved to win both times against Canelo but he didn't dominate in either of those and his performance against Deryvyanchenko was very underwhelming - honestly that fight was more damaging to his image than either Canelo fight, imo.
I think Mikey Garcia is probably the most overrated. Ring Magazine has him in the top 10 welterweights and that's off the back of a humiliating beating from Spence and one decent-ish win over Jessie Vargas, who's little better than a gatekeeper type fighter. If he'd stayed at the lower weights and maybe fought Lomachenko things might have been different but I think the direction he's taken in his career was a huge mistake.
