Why do people hate Adrien Broner so much? He has achieved so much yet still does not get the respect he deserves. He is a 4 division world champion. There have only been 20 other 4 divisions champions I think.
Not only is he a 4 division champion but he is the youngest in history to achieve it. He will be in the Hall Of Fame one day because of his world titles at four weight classes. Love it or hate it.
I'm scared that Broner might actually get in.
The recent talent droughts allowed fighters like Corrales and Hatton to be inducted.
Given the not so deep talent these days, I fear there might be an eventuality broner gets inducted because of a drought
:banghead:
Broner was strong and undefeated at 135 and 140
The problem is he just really sucks at 147
I think if he has a couple of wins with the pedigree of a Haney or Teo, then there's a good chance. Otherwise, you dont got to worry.
He didn't really beat anyone worth note for those titles though. Not for all four at least. He'll always be remembered for Maidana and a downward spiral afterward.

Fughin crazy chit
About Bogus chit that happens
Arturo Gatti, Barry McGuigan, Ingemar Johansson, jimmy braddock, Danny Lopez, Ken Norton, Jess Willard, etc
plenty of underserving chumps who were never close to greatness are, somehow, in the Hall of Fame
Broner will join their ranks, probably

No signature win, no epic fight, not the number one ruler in any of the weight classes he has been.
He is not a HOF. Maybe for talking smack but that is it.
Adrien Broner is a textbook example of what can be acheived in modern day, watered-down Boxing, with just a little hype and protective match-making. You can no longer use "multiple weight champion" as an outstanding acheivement, because belts are so easy to come by. We are approaching 200 different "World" titles in Boxing, it has to be put into context. Broner has a manufactured record, he has never come close to beating a top opponent, his best wins are robberies over B and C-class fighters. He is a mediocre fighter who will go down as such. Only an idiot would fawn over Broner's promoter's success in helping him rack up meaningless alphabet titles whilst never coming close to being the best in a division.
Perfect summary.

I have no doubt that he would get in the HOF, I mean if Barry McGuigan can get in then Broner would, but his resume is pretty weak for a 4 weight champ.
Broner wasn’t scared to fight people.
The chino maidana fight showed how much heart Broner had.
He got his azz beat and never gave up. But Broner never backed away from any fights.
He really doesn’t get the credit for this.
I hate Broner but man. He never backed off in the Maidana fight and the Mikey fight. He stood his ground in those fights and fought like a warrior. Too bad, he backpedaled against Porter and Pacquiao. I don't think you could stand your ground against those two anyway so he played it smart.

That doesn't really hold up to scrutiny either. Sure, he never gave up in that fight but that's a pretty low bar to clear considering that he was the favourite going in and it doesn't really blunt the fact that he was well beaten at the end of the day. Plus if he's got all that heart, where was it in his recent run of fights where he consistently gives up the initiative to his opponent and looks afraid to throw punches?

- -Boner already in the Plumbing fixture HOF, the Baby Mama HOF, and Rap Sheet HOF.
U been sleeping on Boner?
Winning 4 titles is impressive on paper but I think you need better than "on-paper" achievements, and at the end of the day the guys he beat to win those 4 titles weren't all that notable. To be considered great in my book you need to fight top level fighters and either win or at least perform impressively, or just generally be in great fights. Broner just doesn't have that - he doesn't hold a solid win over another famous name, and this point the fights where he suffered embarrassing defeats, like the ones against Maidana, Pacquiao and Mikey Garcia, are the fights that he's most well known for. About as good as it gets before the Maidana fight was his knockout of Antonio Demarco, but at this point that's very much a "who cares" kind of victory. There's no denying that he's a famous name in the sport, but to get into the hall of fame surely it's implied that that fame is for good reasons, and not just because he's an obnoxious and controversial POS like he is. If that were the only criteria, then you could just as easily argue that Connor McGregor could be in the boxing HOF. Contrast that with someone like Arturo Gatti, who you can also argue wasn't that good and made the HOF, but he was in so many great fights even if they were at a lower level and he was so well-loved by the fans. It's just not the same.
He won three world titles that were vacant. The only belt he actually earned was a split decision victory against Paulie Malignaggi.
Sounds like someone I know: Golovkin. At least Broner moved up a few times fighting bigger guys.
