Saw this somewhere and, knowing how much this board loves Floyd/Manny crap, I couldn't resist.
It isn't only about Manny having a better chance to beat Floyd in 2010 (personally, I think Floyd beats Manny worse if they fight March 2010).
It's about Pacquiao getting chances for rematches. It's about the fact that even if Pac loses the fight back in 2010, at least he's had a chance to be in with Floyd and the opportunity to make adjustments and improve in a second fight.
By spending years refusing to do what is now an accepted standard, Arum may have (inadvertently or on purpose) robbed Pacquiao of a legit opportunity to beat Mayweather.
Thoughts?
Arum milked Manny like a money Cow, if he had of fought Floyd in 2010 Floyd kills Arums goose that laid the Golden Egg.
And because of the fanbases Arum has got to avoid it without avoiding it so all the BS starts and the fights not happening, but in the mean time Manny will fight all these others often B graders but its really Floyd we want, was always after this we chasing Floyd , when the time was right Arum was all for the fight because it didnt matter if Manny lost, Manny was milked out he was not going to be hurt at the box office after Floyd, so it happened and Manny lost just like he was always going to.
MANNY ruined the chance for himself. Freddie Roach is on camera making it clear Manny rejected the offer after Floyd met all his demands, because he refused to be tested. The most suspicious thing EVER in a combat sport yet Manny gets a pass due to the blatantly obvious racial hate for Floyd. Manny refused that fight. Manny thought he could age out Floyd and eventually beat him. That was all Manny. Arum can't force a fight and Arum can't decide a fight without input from the fighter themself. The only thing Arum did was continue to market Manny as a mini-juggernaut that Floyd was afraid of...And it worked. The racists ate it up. Then the casuals ate it up from them. Arum just took advantage and made lemonade from the lemons he was working with. If Manny wanted that fight it would've happened in 2010. And a Pacquiao with less experience and less defensive responsibility would've been placed in the ring with a Younger, more aggressive version of Floyd who still thought like a computer. Manny would've been knocked out. Manny became MORE defensively sound and a more cautious fighter after his losses to cherrypick Bradley & JMM who must've thought he was the grim reaper that night. You could clearly see the caution and defense first approach Manny took throughout the Floyd fight. He was being extremely aware, not rushing in like he did in every fight before that, backing up off Floyd repeatedly, etc.
I will never forget how disappointed I was when Manny wrote that "letter to his fans" explaining how getting a sample of blood taken "weakens" him.
Never understood how he expected folks to believe that...
PAC's hard core base will believe any and everything he says/ tells them. Just like Trumps base
If Arum thought PAC could beat FMJ in 2010 he would have made the fight. By selling the assumption that PAC could beat FMJ and convincing a large majority of the the public that FMJ was the road block for the fight not happening allowed Arum to make a fleet of brinks trucks of money. Arum knew once the fight took place he was cashing PAC out. Hey folks don't get mad. It's just my opinion.
