That is a good mention, as is Darnell Boone.
Who knows with the right management from the start these guys could have been pretty good.
Deezol could easily have been a world champ if he hadn't have been managing himself out of his own living room and taking fights on two weeks notice. Shoulda been at 154/160 throughout instead of bouncing up and down in weight. Them's the breaks though... that's what happens if you got a talented dude who just doesn't doesn't get the right matchmaking or promotion.

Fighters who may not have been elite but top fighters would rather avoid and if given the shot gave elite boxers hell?
I'd typically use the term spoiler to describe a style that revolves around taking the opposing fighters game away or smothering their work rather than just someone who's difficult or avoided, but I'll run with how you define it here for the purpose of the thread. Most of the guys I've chosen are kinda spoilers or rough-housers anyway, cept Shafikov who was just a relentless little terrier.
Modernish guys, but Sakio Bika, Isaac Chilemba, Titere, Carlos Molina (already mentioned). Denis Shafikov.
Mmm. Maybe add Andrade to the list too, depending. Dude's been so avoided (or perhaps it's better to say ain't had the opportunities) that it's difficult to tell whether he's an elite who hasn't proved it yet or a really awkward avoided fighter.
Jimmy Young got robbed against Ali in a title quest. About a year later though, he ended Foreman’s quest for a Ali rematch, in fact sent young George into retirement.
Danny Garcia was a big spoiler for the Khan hype train. I also never viewed Danny as quite elite, at least back then.
Maidana is definitely a huge spoiler. Always was vastly underestimated.
Iran Barkley when it came to stopping Hearns
I guess Mayorga was big spoiler in a few cases
